Loved :

Looks

Performance

People asking me about the car! :)

Gadgets ("spoiler goes up, spoiler goes down", MFA, etc)

Good solid build quality considering the age of the car

Looking back at the car in carparks in admiration

Low driving position

Rareity

Driving back from Stealth Racing after my last CCGB rolling road day (early this year), listening to some thumping music, on quiet A roads, window down, making 'progress' feeling totally chuffed to own the car I always wanted.

Hated :

Fuel economy

How much everything cost to get fixed

Frequency of repairs

Forgetting you left the side lights on and coming back to a flat battery

Idiots trying to race you

The feeling of paranoia that someone was damaging it when it was out of sight.

Driving away from the Citroen dealership in my my new Saxo with my Corrado sat in their car park :(

*sigh*

I miss my Corrado, despite its foibles :(

Loves

Handling and sheer GO of them... (even the 1.8 16V I had wasn't exactly slow!)

Seating position and cockpit layout

LOOKS, both of the car, and of passers by/ people being passed by... 8)

Ease of mechanical work... Anything is do-able by someone who knows how to use tools and RTFM/ RTF"C-F.net" !

Spoiler (it has to get a mention doesn't it! )

Hates

The hassle trying to get some of the more obscure parts/trim

Lack of a Haynes manual!

Knowing more than some of the parts muppets who try and sell you the wrong parts while making out that it is the correct part that you ordered, even though it looks nothing like the old bit you have in your hand, and has a totally different part number on it...

(Sorry, that turned into a bit of a rant there... I got messed about by S-K-F in stockport today about my oil pump, which is going to take ANOTHER week to arrive, and I am NOT happy about it 'cos I was going to finish my engine this weekend.... )

That's it for the hates... :p

Even though I've just spent a horrendous amount of money, time and effort on my G60, I'd do it all again without hesitation (with the exception of snapping the bolt in the first place!  )

I had planned to do something similar, rebuild wise, later in 2004, so all my sheared bolt did was to move the project forwards slightly... 8)

Basically, I love my 'rado and wouldn't change her for the world (apart maybe, for a few more modifications!  )

Oh, go on then..

Loves

Handling (when it's working)

VR6 engine (when it's working)

aggressive, purposeful stance of the car (even when it's not working)

the exclusivity (well slightly)

"it's not a golf" Sorry, but I hate Golfs.

Hates

the fact that most of the time it's not working

and when it's working it's not doing so properly

and when it *is* working properly something else WILL go wrong

labour rates

price of parts

availability of parts

reliability of replacement parts (why the hell don't the door handles/headlight switches get re-designed?!)

why oh why is there not a "engine sick - consult VAG-COM" warning light on the dash? Then it wouldn't be possible to sell a car with a fooked MAF, and a fooked cam position sensor, and .. and .. and ..

I could go on.. but I won't, cos it's too damn early, and I hate being depressed before 9am, particularly at the weekend!

How come 3 things go wrong at each time one after another

Nothing is a 10 min job on a corrado

Explaing to VW dealers what a corrado is----some of them havent even heard of it

Having to wait for even common parts, to be delivered, nothing is ever on shelf

Amount of kinks and dents i manage to get in car parks
