volksworld13 0 Posted December 5, 2009 i would prob take it to a garage, get them to diag it,parts can be sourced from the vw delaership, ive not come across this before but it would help, if you remove the trim around the geargaiter and check the tower, and inspect the linkage on top of the gearbox, and get somebody to work the reverse whilst inspecting it. nick vr6 0 Posted December 5, 2009 I had similar trouble recently. Every time I tried to select reverse, I got 1st. Try giving the linkage (on the gearbox) a squirt or 2 of WD40, it worked for mine.
