ZippyVR6 0 Posted October 28, 2010 Opened up the bonnet tonight to find loads of chewed up bonnet insulation on the cam cover. It looks like I have a rodent in my engine bay? Any ideas on how to get rid of it. I've seen a anti rodent install on E38, but That a bit beyond me. I was thinking of some poison in strategic places, but what if it dies and starts to stink the car up? Either way I need to get it sorted before it chews through soething important. James. 9 Posted October 28, 2010 And I thought the "Rat look" was all the rage  I'd put a tray of poison under the car when ever possible and hope that draws the bugger out.
mimjed 0 Posted October 28, 2010 Id go with some apple on mouse traps, get the stronger ones though. The sweeter the apple the better.
JMC 0 Posted October 28, 2010 I had a family of mice in my car a few years back. Check round the bay and hoover everythng out you can (chewed bits, etc). Set a few mouse traps inside the car incase they have got inside. Do not use poison, it'll crawl off and die and will stink.
Abdul 0 Posted October 28, 2010 I was going to suggest taking it for a spirited drive, all corrados run bloody hot. Might stink though lol

Veearrhsix 0 Posted October 29, 2010 http://www.kemo-electronic.de/en/Car/Mo ... hicles.php However bought the same thing off ebay - no more cat & dog sh*t in the driveway. Might work with rats... Will attract the odd bat squeak due to the ultrasonic frequency, but they bugger off too...
big ben 10 Posted October 29, 2010 bizarre... could it not be just the insulation falling apart as it does do that quite well without a rodent nibbling on it
boost monkey 0 Posted October 29, 2010 I'm not sure if this is a serious thread or not. If it is: My foam just disintegrated over time and just flaked off. Whenever I dropped the bonnet some more would come off. It's just a fatigue thing and 99.8% sure not rat related. If it isn't:    :notworthy:         :salute: :salute:
Majik 0 Posted October 29, 2010 Where ever there are rats there are cats, Where ever there are cats there are dogs. If you got the dogs you got bitches. Bitches Always out to put their paws on your riches. If you got riches, you got glitches. If you got glitches in your life computer turn it off and then reboota. Now you back on. :D I think if you had a rat it would be chewing through the brake fluid pipes first.
