Just to make sure - Adjusting the KW1

Recommended Posts

Just lowered the C a bit - unscrewed the z-screw and then just turned on the purple ring, making it lower. Can anyone confirm that's the correct way - to mee it felt I was rotating stuff at top as well - should I hold back anything when doing this or ???

cheers!

is it possible to twist the purple thing by hand?

did you not get a C spanner in the kit? You can do it by hand when the car is up in the air (off the suspension) but if you got a new kit you should have been given a C spanner.

My fronts (V3s) are still turnable by hand after 4 years, but the rears certainly aren't!! I've had to replace the perches on the back twice from siezing up.

But the difference with Inox compared to lesser dampers is they seize because grit gets trapped between the perch and damper, not because they're corroded to buggery!! Grit seizing a perch is the bain of *ALL* coilovers, but with the Inox you simply cut the perch off, clean up the threads, fit a new perch (£15 each) and off you go again.

On my V3s rebound is adjusted at the top using a 2pm allen key - the fronts are a cinch to do, but the rears are much more troublesome to get to due to the parcel shelf supports.... I would assume V2s are the same but might be wrong...
