vr6 timing chains

hi can anyone tell me is it easier to remove the engine to do the timing chains on my corrado vr6? any info would be great thank you

It will be MUCH easier with the engine out plus you can probably attend to other things that may ahve cropped up that you couldnt normally do with the engine in place. Make sure you change the crank seal when you do the chains though.

when the wiki is back up and running, in the drivetrain section there is a step by step guide and parts list of how to carry out the chain replacement.

couple of hours to remove g'box.lot longer to remove engine ,box out makes more sense to me.

Best way is defo with the engine and gearbox out. It takes a little longer, but you can do a much better overall job without having to struggle and lean over into the engine bay.
