Flash Red VR6 From the begining...

Recommended Posts

Wanted another so the hunt began.

Had to be red, and with these cars buy on condition not miles, found this example down in Manchester, drove it home, 400 odd mile journey, no problems whatsoever, except the crap wipers, which are being replaced, average of 35mpg the whole way, so that's quite good for a VR, actually getter than the G60 did.

It's a fantastic colour when it's polished and waxed - so bright :)

Got to love them in red :)

Well said that man! This looks great, I wish my paint looked like that. i've have lovely shony wings, but the rest is fading with peeling lacquer. No rust so don't mind that as a compromise. :)

I always disliked the bonnet soundproofing, its made of foam which just crumbles and makes a mess, so it was all removed, took an age, but much happier with the end result.

I then changed all the standard screw/nut fittings for the headlights lights, radiator, bonnet catch etc for stainless, was lucky as they all came off no problem, it helps buying a southern car

Rear end number plate plinth was changed for a SpoonFed Tuning rear carbon fibre plinth, I will be changing a lot more parts with carbon fibre

Interior gauges were updated to DDI back lit dials, and I changed the LCD to red, all switches will be changed to red illumination, once I get all the parts together, another work in progress.

Loving the red......:thumbleft:

I do like Rado's on 5 spoke alloys. I don't know what it is, they seem to suit it quite well.

I think Mike still has it tucked away.

Indeed I do, currently doing a few jobs on it, new radiator, clutch master cylinder and service, might even get it back on the road this year.
