CazzaVR 0 Posted October 5, 2012 Is it a 2.0? Had similar on one of my old ones where water got into the airbox. There's a sensor on the side of the airbox which was soaked. Dried it all out thouroughly and it was fine again.

tony_ack 0 Posted October 5, 2012 Is the air intake boot on top of the airbox/metering head secure? Must be a big vac leak that opens up as the revs increase, and the pressure in the intake builds. The 16v relies primarily on the air pressure in the intake to meter the fuel correctly. I had a similar problem where I had put the boot on slightly wonky, and every time it revved, it would stutter because the gap opened up and the pressure dropped. seanl82 23 Posted October 6, 2012 Unplug your MAF and go for a spin. It may cut out after a minute or so, but you'll notice the difference immediately if it is the cause. Thats what my money would be on.
