I'd suggest that you don't buy the first car you see this time. Also, if you like it and think it's good, it's a dud. Walk away!

Sorry to hear of the car troubles Wayne, but that MG?! Woof! that is one fugly car.....

Also, if you're after a car with no/very few issues is it wise to set your budget at sub £2k? Can't help but think you'll be having this issue again in a few months.

Obviously this us all my own opinion....the ramblings of a madman some would say....

OK Sean.

If next car I view is totally neglected, blue smoke, Mayo in oil cap and even struggles to start - then I ll BUY it!

But u know all too tempting when a nicer looking car is a few £100s more....

Then another a few more £100s more.....then u at £3k now :shocked!:

Totally agree... Unless you like the challenge and are mechanically minded.

I know too :(

Determined next car be Jap (more reliable)

Or cheap as chips so don't mind scrapping it a less of a loss

Really want a ugly, reliable, cheap work horse for next 3-5 years.

Something I can leave and not having to wash to keep it looking nice.

Something I can just park anywhere and don't care being bashed

Something that rarely goes wrong or have water leak issues

And the car in front is a Toyota ?

I used to have a Celica 1.8 vvti for my workhorse was great ao looked ok

Lol David

Celica s not practical enough for family - I prefer 5 doors and more rear ceiling space :)

Did I mentioned I had a Gen4 Celica?

A civic would be a good choice. They are often owned by the elderly and therefore will have been meticulously serviced by the main dealer.

How about a Honda Civic? 04 style? Bulletproof engines and rubbish and ugly enough not to care about?

On my list already guys :)

Does that mean I need to get a cap, slippers and smoking pipe to match? :D
