Drivers side air vent/headlight switch housing

Recommended Posts

Hello all

Does anybody have a working headlight switch available please?

My first trip out in the VR in the dark for a long time & the bloody headlight switch broke such that it wont turn the lights off. It was one of the repro ones from the group buy on here. Hence i had to disconnect the battery when i got home last night.

thanks in advance

EDIT: so, it seems it is not the switch that is broken. i have somehow cracked the housing into which the switch sits by the air vent. thus the switch pushes back when trying to turn the lights off

Does anybody have a good condition housing section available please?

Available new for not too much from Heritage/Classic Parts - this will be a newly manufactured switch with filament, not LED bulb though.

You can still order via Heritage, but you would need to wait a couple of weeks - would do them no harm to keep a dozen in stock, they'd surely sell.

I found the LED version much too bright as well, and actually took the orange light out of them to just leave green - the ring for the illumination brightness was much smoother though. It might be worth checking your wiring as these later switches should not fail that easily.

thanks all

upon inspection today it seems the switch itself is not the offending item

it looks like the housing it slots into has cracked & is allowing the right hand side of the switch to move such that the switch cant go to off position
