811 807 577C expanding screw retainer (known as expanding nut)

Recommended Posts

When I replaced my battery tray well part of it anyway, I also rebuilt/repaired my front side bumper brackets as they were rusted through, I'll upload photos when I can next.

Regarding the side bumper brackets I had to drill out new holes so the plastic wheel arch liner could be attached correctly. The new square hole/s you drill out then file to 7.5mm max, don't go any larger untill you've tried the new plastic fitting, just to be safe. You can always enlarge a tad more if needed, once you've checked fitment.

VW spec black plastic expanding screw retainer (also known as expanding nut)

Head 12mm

Stem length 12mm

Fits square hole of 8mm to 8.2mm NOT 10mm as that'll be too big.

OEM part number 811 807 577C

I purchased the above from Ebay a while ago now, they come in packs of 10

Hope this helps

Also perfect for the mounting of the aux belt guard. One of mine was missing, so I bought a batch of 5 from eBay and the mounting points are now fully populated!
