  1. oh, so where are getting the whistle on gear change from then? you might have a leak where you've capped off the tube.
  2. So have you removed the bypass pipe to the charger? In which case your breather is venting to air also?
  3. Nice intercooler Darren! Would be interesting to see a before and after dyno with that! 8)

Petrol?? You shouldn't be smelling petrol. Check the fuel lines to your new FPR, there might be a leak. The car runs stoich under normal driving, its only when the ecu switches to open loop (map) when your fuelling will increase to compliment the boost. :D

Munkay: Hows the car going? have you done the "running in" miles yet? By the way, you mean £165 chip and pulley :D

Probably a generic chip. 70mm pulley? pah  Why not give the man a call and find out exactly what its about. Cant do any harm?
  7. The MFA reading shows boost pressure "under load" in mbar. You'd have to read it at peak boost which would be around 5800rpm. The MFA boost readings are very often incorrect. Better off getting a boost gauge!
  8. Good idea! I'll be doing some measurements on the Rallye which has the bigger intercooler so it'll be good to see how much of a difference there is between the two sizes :D
  9. Hi Guys Here's a cheap way of monitoring your boost temps, you could even get two and have one either side of the intercooler :D Maplins sell a temperature module which has an LCD display for a tenner! You have to get an external temp probe which comes with 3m chord for £3. http://www.maplin.co.uk/products/module ... odulecode= Would be interesting to see the effect/efficiency of the intercoolers!
  10. Hey glad you like it so far Munkay!! Wait till you floor it properly, it should pull like a train all the way to 6k :D Temps will be higher than standard since you're getting more boost, you can always get an oil cooler later on (very good addition). I should have those Air Fuel gauges soon so you can really see the No Lag coding in action :D

Gazza: It would be worth getting it checked just in case the oil seals are wearing. Better be safe than sorry! 8)

Hi Jil As munkay said, Pitstop are good at rebuilding and especially when it comes to flowing! My charger is with them at the mo :D
  13. The dyno's on the site show power at the Wheels. However, those are old graphs showing stage 4 performance, we've moved on quite a bit from there and our No Lag © stage 5 gives more power. I'm working hard on the new site for you guys to give you all the info and evidence of the No Lag © feature. We are new in the UK which is why you won't find much feedback but we've been around for a long time in across the pond so you'll find ample feedback from the guys on the Vortex forum. With your mods, i would say a stage 5 chip written for that FPR should give you in the region of 220bhp, possibly more depending on the efficiency of the cooler ad the amount of boost you get.
  14. I'm using a schrick 268 at the mo, you dont want to get a cam too much peakier than that since the 8v head doesn't like to be revved too much. Its all about the torque :D A bigger intercooler would be very effective since the standard raddo one becomes heat soaked very quickly. (I should have some custom made Front Mounted Intercoolers around 36" wide!! soon)
  15. Banana man: Who is doing your custom chip? Be warned that a custom chip from certain places is just a few load points tweaked, not a full remap as you may be told to believe :x Furthermore, many "full remaps" are also just the standard chip tweaked at a few load points :?
  16. Nice one Banana Man. :D Are you guys using these regulators with a map made for the standard reg?? If so, you'll simply be using a certain percentage more fuel throughout the range. You wont really gain much in terms of performance. My advice is, get one, then get a map which is made for the 3.5bar reg to really gain from it.
  17. Excellent!! Now why didnt you say anything before???
  18. Munkay: Even Bosch in Germany don't have any. They are going to run off a new batch by end of March. :(
  19. Yep, thought so. :( Like I said, I should be getting 5 next week, 2 already have names on them. The rest are to be sold with our Stage 5 Chip but if you want just the FPR then you'll have to wait another week or so till I can get a few more.
  20. Tony: Like Paul said, most tuners use it as an add on but dont alter their maps for it so you'll get more fuel throught the range. We use it as an integral part of our chip since we've mapped the chip for the 3.5bar regulator. This means you get the most out of your injectors (and performance) and only use extra fuel when needed. :D :D
  21. Yeah, the problem is that Bosch UK (main Warehouse) where all the suppliers get their stock from dont have any 3.5 bar FPR's left. They'll have to wait fro Bosch Germany to make some more. Not sure if the ones from Euro Car parts are original Bosch, if so then they'll have the same problem. Ask your supplier to call Bosch and find out cos this is what i've been told by 5 suppliers.
  22. Bananaman: I'd check with your supplier to see if they can actually get them. Reason is because i've been trying to get a supplier and Bosch UK have run out, Bosch Germany have to make another batch which wont be until end of march!! :( I have however managed to get 5 Bosch 3.5bar FPR's which i'll have by next week. One has been sold already. £45 inclusive
  23. Interesting, thanks guys! Anyone else got dyno figures?
  24. MADDUB: whats your new motor?? Sounds "interesting" 8) Do you guys remember which gear the dyno was done in?
  25. BANANA MAN: That sounds tooo efficient!! 10% loss. Wow :D where did you do the dyno?
