I've got a sound recording of a VR6 in need of it's timing chains replaced. I think it's on it's last legs, as the thing sounds like a diesel!! I can put it up if you want?

When the auxiliary water pump goes, they go pretty quickly. A friend of mine was losing a little coolant, he topped it up in the morning and drove 10 miles. I then looked at it, and the level was fine, 2 miles later, the water light was flashing, pulled over and Nothing in the expansion tank. BONE DRY!! Had to get the RAC out, and bypass the auxiliary water pump and head straight to the dealers!!

Alot of Supra owners have this sort of paint job. A bit, Fast and the Furious looking for my liking. But each to their own :roll:

I'm about to change my rear discs and pads this weekend and also the bearings. Does anyone recommend a particular disc/pad combination. I'm not sure whether to go with genuine parts, or try something different. How much do you think i'm looking at for the complete set??

You can often get a bargain on a car with a CAt C or D history, provided that the car has been repaired to a high standard. See if the car has been on autoline. They are a company that check over such cars to verify that the damages have been repaired to a high standard, and that structurally the car is good to drive. Having said this, £2400 is alot for a 150K miler with this kind of history. It would only be worth considering if your planning on keeping the car for a while, and not expecting to get your money back

That's what i'm getting at, they both auto-down, but the drivers one doesn't auto-up :?

I know this isn't a major problem, but the driver and passenger windows are both automatic when pushed downwards for more than a second, but will not go up automatically. You have to hold your finger on the switch?? Anyone know what this could be? Was thinking the switch, and may just change the switches with a friend to see if it works. Cheers

My oil temp reaches optimum after 10 mins of driving, and the water gets to 70-80 after about 5

I have that very same problem with my car, just as you roll to a stop and then move off slowly you hear the "droning" noise. I think it ic a sign of the rear caliper on it's way out. Am gonna get it checked out when it is serviced this month.

same with all VW's if they've been well looked after and regularly serviced. A mate of mine had a Mk2 Gti 8v with 289K on the clock!!!! :shock: It was still hitting 100++ easy!

I have just got a really good set of black mats with VR6 logo for £52 from ccmotorsports. The fronts attach to the footwell by pinning them down. I'm really pleased with them, and being tailor made, they are spot on for sizes. :D

Oh... And its Twin Turbo, Twin VR6 now!!! :twisted: wtf??? Some people are insane, that must be the FATEST car on the planet!! :lol:
