Must admit, a friend clued me up on this (and nightmares on wax) - very very good listening. Also clued me up on Mr Scruff, cracks me up - especially the last track "fish have underwater weapons" or something

That last pic is awesome, absolutely awesome. Whereabouts is that? More to the point, did you get clammy palms looking down!?

Been thinking about the rear wiper for some time, more along the lines of wanting to match it to the lupo fronts. Henny can you grab a part number for a suitable modding candidate while you are there please? TIA randal
-
may get flambed for this one, but GSF have got some drilled discs for 29.50 each on the fronts - and IIRC about the same on the rears. Was going to give them a pop when mine need doing. Also going for the pagid pads too, someone said they kick out a lotta dust. However, some also rightly said "you wash your car every weekend right?" :D

Good plan Phil. Would the 2.0 head fit on the KR block? That way all you've got to worry about is fluids, belt, tensioner, gaskets and head bolts. Say comfortably around 150 notes. 8) Very cool....

Sorry mate, by rear beam read "the metal strut thingie at the back of the engine bay" - (I know enough to get me by, but not enough to remember the names of these thigies!) Doesn't sound like too much fuss though either way. I remember having a look under the car when the Miltek was getting fitted and thinking - "How the hell is he going to get that OE pipe out of there?" No sooner did I finish thinking, I heard the warming pop of Oxy-Aceteline. Ahhh, problem solved
-
Good stuff, so there's no grief with the rear beam having to come out then? Looks like I just got myself a task for the weekend :)

The glass might be coming off the runners, but I'm of the same opinion as you - knackered regulator. I know the feeling well, mine struggle at the best of times. Just happy the sunroof was replaced 18 months ago :D Adios randal

If the joints haven't been done, I'd do them while you are there. IIRC CV joints require you to break the bottom ball joint and lift the drive shaft out of the hub - Seeing as you've probably got to take the CV off the shaft to get the boot on you might as well swap it out. Remember to pack it full of grease, you normally get a sachet with the joint. It should take about 1.5-2 hours, given that the original CV is not too much of an ar$e to get off the shaft. (Which it probably will be if it's anything like a Polo!) HTH randal

Eh up, Just a swift one. Having problems with my exhaust, the front pipe keeps pulling apart from the rest of the SS kit - it's driving me mental. Tried most things - i.e. tightening up the clamps to the point of "ouch that hurt my hand" - but still nothing. So I'm guessing as the engine is rocking on acceleration it's pulling the pipes apart. I've changed the front mount, fairly easy. But someone told me that to change the rear mount is a pig, something about having to take out the entire strut to get access?? Can anyone shed any light/give us a better way round? TIA randal

I'll vouch for John too, having seen his 16V G60 in the flesh - I couldn't agree more. :D

Where's SoundsAlarming when you need him!?

what do you mean by heavily modified 16v??? David. Judging by some of the pics in the link off his profile, I'm willing to bet he's kept the local body shop in business

Just got the C back after a rather expensive "preventative maintainance" excursion, and have picked up a rather irritating glitch on the remote central locking. I can unlock the car (and disarm alarm/immob) from the fob no problem. However, when I try to lock the car from the fob it only arms the alarm/immob. I can still kick off the central locking from pushing down the driver's door pin - can't use the key as I've delocked the handles :brickwall: At the advice of the dude who installed the alarm, i've been over the fuses and checked the wiring where the alarm meets the C/L circuit and can't find anything out of place there. It's funny because the central locking works AOK, as does the fob. The really weird thing is, none of the work carried out would have been anywhere near the alarm system, short of disconnecting the battery. Oh yeah, it's a Toad Ai606 btw. It's not the end of the world as it's covered under warranty, just wanted to see if I could sort it to save the bloke a rather lengthy drive down to sort what could be a 5 minute fix. TIA randal

I got a hefty bill - oh and they gave me my C back with it !
randal replied to dtjames's topic in General Car Chat
Susp kit fitting plus alignment etc.. should come to around 3 hours labour, strut mounts would be included in that as would the shock mounts. So say, to be comfortable about 4 hours tops. Spark plugs would take about 10 minutes, plus the cost - don't know what the going rate is - say 40-50 quid max! As a guide, front discs are 29.50 each from GSFCarparts and a set of pagid fast road pads are 29.50 also. Probably about1/2 one or two hours labour for fittings on those. Difficult to say on the service. I got a full check up on mine, including plugs fluids etc... for 120 all in - but that was mate's rates. HTH -
YGPM! :D :D

Daamn, that does make a nice difference. I like that. :D And you've got the wheels I want too! Thanks for doing the follow up on that, nice to hear/see the results - can't wait for my springs to arrive (hopefully tomorrow, got a call on friday from C&R saying they've been dispatched) - oh and get the car back from the garage.... waaah. :( All the best randal

Can I be the first to say "Congratulations for seeing the light" by wanting to get rid of your Corset and buy a car. Excuse my sarcasm, but I'm just bitter. Errm, there's a thread here --> http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5124 that should get you started. Enjoy. randal
