  1. Nothing too bad I hope - just the usual Monday morning crap? :(

    VDO Guage Power

From what I've been told, the black connector is power. On certain models the vag-com diagnostics don't provide a lot of information, as the ECU only really controls idle speed and a few others etc... (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Either way, I'm sure it isn't going to cause too much trouble if you splice a feed off the black connector for your gauges. :)

Or you've always got the black connector for the vag-com under the gear gator surround. Not sure about amapage etc.. tho. HTH randal
  4. Looks like the drooling over Corrado problem is sorted
  5. Couldn't agree more. Bloke from work took one, respray in daytona yellow, 16" OZ Super T's, can't remember what lump he dropped in but I know it was 360bhp at the wheels. If memory serves it was re-born at QuattroSport. Now THAT was a wagon.

    ignition barrel

Have you tried turning the key a little way, pulling it out a little (about 2mm), and turning the rest of the way. I've seen it when the guard plate gets in the way of the mechanism, and by pulling it the 2mm you clear the plate. Not a fix, but might get you driving again. HTH randal
  7. Very nice mate, I do love those rims. :D
  8. That bonnet should be used for grating over sized pieces of cheese.
  9. http://www.deutscheperformance.co.uk They've got them for £170+ VAT - one of the cheaper ones in the UK. The only other place I've seen them cheaper is ebay.de - but none of them use paypal or anything like that, so you've got to wire the wonga over. They've got smoked and clear for £130 on buy it now. If you do a search for "corrado RÃœCKLEUCHTEN" that should help ya. HTH randal
  10. Dave, have you had your balance and tracking sorted? I had a similar problem on the car before the C, and it was solved with that. It's OK, mine does the same from about 40 upwards - scary thing is most of my driving is motorways. M25, 'orrible grooves in the road coupled with the braking probs means jumping lanes when braking! Not good!
  11. the head needs a rebuild on mine, but it's not chugging through 5 litres of the stuff in the time it takes to rack off a tank of juice. The head gasket is nice and easy to check, and if you are losing that much oil there must be evidence of a drip or something. Stick a sheet of cardboard under the car for a wee while and see where the drips are coming from. Might help you localise the problem. HTH randal

    im sick

It's a condition solely attributed to a car VW released in the 90's, unfortunately sufferers arn't in for an easy ride. Symptoms include greasy hands, loss of time, silly grins and inevitably an empty wallet. :D
  14. This must be the knackered pipe thread. This isn't the one from the oil cooler --> head is it? (The 3 attachment one that is a BEEEYATCH to get to, ideally with alternator removed?) Need to get that one changed, will do when my rad arrives....
  15. Maroon coloured K plate on the back roads to Guildford this morning, about 9.20 - you flashed, I gawked like a bunny caught in headlights. Also saw a very low K plate G60 on the M25 last night, you got off at junction 13, and swiftly back on at junction 13 - avoid that traffic!
  16. Errrm, I think that IS a KR! The inlets on the airbox are the same as mine, but the one's on Phil K's 2.0 16V are totally different - and covered. 1.8 + 2.0 hybrid maybe? :?: :?:
  17. Henny think you are on a winner there. It's just a bummer being one of the few peeps in our group that drive (or moreover are willing to drive) I think people have still got the "you used to drive a crappy B reg polo, you treated THAT like crap, so we can treat THIS like crap" mentality. *sigh* people are rubbish!
  18. Ooooo, don't get me started! 1) Replaced rear passenger door card as drunk decided to literally rip it off when "entering" car 2) Constantly removing other people's crap - cigarette packets, crisp packets, sweet wrappers.... (Look, I know I do it - but it's MY car! 3) Muddy feet on my freshly washed mats! 4) People going to flick ash out of tiny gap in window and burning window rubber ...deep breath.... rant over.  Sorry :offtopic: !
  19. The way that I keep losing coolant through the corrosion at the top mount on the rad!
  20. Maybe not, but I'm thinking a cleverly positioned hook+rope a la Gone in Sixty seconds style might help me out some :D :D :D
  21. Yep you are right, the 1.8 16v is cat-less. So it's the closest thing to a cat on those cars anyway! It's from the front pipe, but people still call it "cat-back" for some reason. Any takers?
  22. Me too, just needs a little TLC and it'll back in all it's former glory. :D
  23. 250 from the cat back, and the front pipe is gonna be 250 again. Speak to Mr JMR (16VG60) for full details :D
  24. /me has ideas about fitting an A/C unit and piping the cold air straight from it into the airbox.... :D
