  1. mine too rob glad you got it up and going, what was it in the end chap?
  2. most of it is relocated to the boot, couldn't warrant it myself, but looks great at car shows meets. always keeps my hood down if someone close is showing off a smoothed bay!! :bonk: if my engine went kaput and it needed changing or rebuilding then I would definitely look at smoothing whilst I was there, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do it
  3. i dunno, i like bbs rs but the wheel games widened so much of recent years theres a lot of nice wheels out there....some crappy ones too! I'm 50/50 on northelles, colour of the car makes the wheel for me, they look superb silver silver as on yours great combo think they'd suit black too, but I'm not sure about them on red/yellows or green, i would probably have the bbs on those colours
  4. this thread made me laugh with funksters last post, unlucky mate karoliz has it been serviced since standing for 3-4 years? im presuming its not the same petrol in the tank?? :-)
  5. haha eat gravel teachers!! nice, I didn't realise this 'prom' thing got so big.......never had anything like that in my day wait.....did I just become my dad?
  6. mine winds back on allen key mate, motor wont take it back but will tilt fully ok, tried two motors...same thing, then gave up as I cant be doing changing a sunroof, i'll probably use once a year I suspect it wont be the motor it will be the mech, the motor wont have enough oomph to move it where as the allen key will, if you've already tried two motors I suspect the third will do exactly the same
  7. so my corrado has had its day in the sun.... my daughter asked if i could take her and a friend to the prom, americanised nonsense i thought....yeah no worries took them for a spin first and made sure she was clean, well, a good 200 people were out side the entrance gated off like a full blown red carpet event....i was typically under dressed for such an occasion! the paparazzi (presumably from the school and local paper) went nuts to the point i was blind driving, then they made us get out take shots of the car take shots of the girls with the car, a bloke approached me and said, man i haven't seen one of these in ages, looks good i must admit I'm quite a shy reserved type, and i don't really like attention, but the corrado was soaking it up like a good 'un as i left parting the crowd people still taking photos of me in the car (i dread to think what my face looks like) a bloke leant down to the earshot of his son and said.....see that, thing of beauty! needless to say i gave him a little rev as i parted!
  8. nice restoration on that paint....good luck with getting it running
  9. i really had to work mine in to clean, and it seemed real easy to 'spread the dirt' which is when i started to use the microbe towels to pick up the dirt you can get a soft brush attachment for a polisher that would work really well on stubborn stains
  10. hi dave, I have the late spec ones.....don't suppose you have the early ones do ya? drop me a pm either way
  11. not for me i don't care how fast that thing goes......the spoiler.....horses for courses
  12. yep I was a victim to the pricey brush! didn't really use it that much either, used the tooth brush more I forgot I also used microfiber towels for the real stubborn parts, agitated it with the cleaner and tooth brush and rubbed away the soap with the microfiber seem to work well for me
  13. ahh great stuff, cool vid, must be a classy car if the younger generation appreciate it too!
  14. yeah that's right I gave them a general soapy clean, then used the gt12 cleaner and aggravated it in with a soft brush, but for the state mine was in, I needed to do bit by bit with a toothbrush one bottle did my whole interior including door cards and I used it liberally, it is good stuff, you see it working a lot clearer by looking at the stitching colours. I then conditioned the leather using the gt11 all over and left for a few days before using the scuff master I used a safe alcohol based wipe quickly just over the deeper cracks to make sure they were clean and the scuff master would then adhere into the cracks and stay there (leave to dry) then I used the scuff master (purchased 250ml) way more than enough to do scuffs all round applying it with one of the wife's new 'war paint' sponges coat by coat letting it dry inbetween and once finished left for a few days (out of the sun) then re applied the conditioner after, because I had the interior out it was easy to take my time, but I cant stress enough how important the cleaning part is, I got a bit bored and could have cleaned my door cards a bit more and they would have turned out better.. I got the leather cleaner and conditioner from cleanyourcar.co.uk and only purchased the liquid leather (scuffmaster) on its own when I first used it and it was covered I thought the product may re-crack in the same places as you apply pressure on the bolster....but its showing no sign of that and it looks almost new! was really pleased with the results can recommend highly
  15. yeah off the internet http://www.liquidleather.com/scuffs.htm haven't been to totally vag show before, have you? don't think I was ever aware if any previous ones, so a complete newby to the show
  16. cheers all, Jamie the seats came up better than I expected to be honest, they were badly cracked and scuffed, I used gliptone leather cleaner and conditioner for hours working it in with a toothbrush, this really exposed how bad they was, I thought I would give 'scuff masters' liquid leather repair ago before going down a retrim route and wow what a result, if anyone has cracked or worn leather I would suggest this first. the site has all corrado spec based colours too so you know it will match and was super cheeeep like the budgie. I also found £1.25 down the drivers side seat base.....brucey bonus haha hi to all my fellow devonians.....I expect to see you all at the tottaly vag show in September! ;-) wbx6dan...you had yours out much in this lovely weather? seen a g60 parked in wooly the other day j207 mrg took a quick pic
  17. cheers...got to try and keep it that way now ha ha
  18. [/url[/url paint all done with deletes got the leather in too....what a biyatch haha any mot time now.... fingers crossed!!
  19. im afriad i would have dropped all appointments and waited for the dip **** to come back, then told him to get in his car without touching mine, if he touches he pays for a respray! saying that I've drove into a car park parked miles away from the shop thinking it will be ok there and come out to a car parked either side with the remainder of the whole car park near enough empty.....something about nice cars attracting numpteys!
  20. also watched the above....really enjoying petrolicious at the moment, can watch them over and over, some great classics with some true hidden gems great drives through some awesome locations https://www.youtube.com/user/PetroliciousCo good thread will be keeping my eye for new channels
  21. ouch that bad? thought about it myself but think you sometimes can have a show overload, i usually go 2-3 a year or it can become rather repetitive
  22. loepan

    Cone filters

can I ask if that was direct cold fed or open in the bay
  23. loepan

    Cone filters

ill get back on this in a few weeks once I pick mine up from the paint shop, I purchased it with a cone k&n filter with no heat shield whatsoever.....does make a good noise once I get it back I have a bmc cda filter with cold air feed ready to go in so I will report back the difference if any initial hopes are that I retain the sound but maybe help the engine out a bit
  24. I laughed at first but I think he maybe on about the spray type bbq paint, its a lot like a matt colour and weather proof that's all, allthough still not ideal, hammerite just conjures up images of thick gloopy iron railing paint! haha with the money your going to spend on re-spraying plus prep work and time..... I would just buy a new one
