Cobra alarm working great but the fob has done a bunk.
MZpog replied to MZpog's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Cobra have got back to me with a pin number. I just hope it works tonight. -
Parked car Friday night, locked up and went inside to find my new alarm fob case had arrived. Disassembled fob, fit its guts in new case and argh, the fob isn't talking to the alarm. According to my mechanic there should be a pin code for the alarm which will allow reprogramming, but I have no documents with it on and the whilst the unit has some numbers on it, it doesn't seem to have a serial number on it. I've called cobra 01932 732331 and await their response but it's not looking good. Life without my Corrado sucks.

My valver had intermittent ABS woes at one point. The light would sometimes stay on but if I turned the key off/on again would work ok. Then it started illuminating whilst driving along (especially going over bumps) but a quick key off/on at whatever speed would sort it. When the light started illuminating more regular it made diagnosing the problem a lot easier. ABS sensors checked with multi-meter - plugs pulled at strut tops and from under rear seat. 1.1 to 1.3 ohms (I think) is the range I was looking for and turned out my rear N/S was out of spec. Took it to my mechanic in knowledge that the rears are the worse to do and let him swap the old one out and it's been spot on since.

Life wouldn't be the same without it.

Not 100% sure but think it goes to the elbow just before the throttle body.

The drilled airbox shouldn't make any difference and the KR cam and 50mm don't affect it either (I know this for sure ;) ) Assuming later cars have one, I'd be checking the pipe from that leads to the little module on the back of the clocks as if man handled the hose nipple could be snapped off.

Saturday saw a burgundy on BBS style rims parked in ASDA Colne.

That looks pretty good. Where do I sent my old one for recovering, lol.

my old Schmidt's were 8j et10 and ran 195/50/15's

probably more interesting if you have a partner who hogs the tv like mine.

None in when the photograph was taken but now have neon's, harlequin's, bristle nose plec, couple of shrimps, polkadot loaches

I've had big tanks before but my current home doesn't have space (ok she's not into fish) so I opted for one of the larger nano tanks, a Fluval Edge 46. Photograph is from when I initially set up with real plants but I've now gone for plastic plants and it looks tip top.

My loom had no plugs as wires were cut from the donor loom so I had to solder them on to the appropriate wires.

Just been though my phone pictures as I was sure I'd photographed where the live is picked up from but alas no photograph. I recall the live feed on mine was spliced into one of the larger fused wires on the bottom of fuse box (not sure by which fuse). I think the Illumination wire again was spliced in.

Drop a Passat B3/B4 glass roof in instead - I did and love the light it lets in the car. If you do strip/grease, then use the VW grease or Liqui Moly silicone grease (much cheaper)

I hadn't seen the M, so yeah 9A cams and they need to go :) You only need to swap the inlet, but I'd recommend swapping both so you have matching chain sprockets (a mismatch could cause wear). I'd also drop a new chain in and do the cam belt while your in there.

Jonny, your Passat can thrash past my office anytime, it sounds lovely

Well much as I'd have liked to sell you my KR cams or the KR head, it seems a little pointless as you already appear to have KR cams fitted. Took some photographs in the garage last night KR head with nice shinny BMW blue rocker cover. Inside pic (I know its missing bits that I have in a bag) KR cams clearly show 027 on each 9A cams show 027M on the inlet and 027 on the exhaust

I'll have a look at the markings/numbers my KR and 9a cams and will let you know the difference.
-
Hi fella, I have a set of KR cams if you looking for some. Actually I got a freshly skimmed KR top end thats been mildly polished in the ports and a painted rocker cover (nice blue) too. I think the only difference between the look of the two is the intake cam on one is marked 027M and the other is just 027, I just can't recall which way round. I can check when I get home as I also have a set of 9a cams in spares. Top bang for buck mod as the KR in a 9a works well.

Ummmm Turbo....do you have a kit?

Worrying (but tasty) mysterious noise on this mornings commute
MZpog replied to MZpog's topic in General Car Chat
Because a noise in a Corrado usually means something is going wrong. -
First set of bends on my way into the office today and hear an unknown thud/rattling clunk that seemed to be amplified by how fast I chucked it in. Radio gets turned down but nothing to be heard on the relatively straight road I'm on and my mind is working overtime as to what it could be and what I could have disturbed when recently had the G60 brakes fitted. Turns right into my favourite twisty section and clunk, then into the left and another clunk, then right clunk, small straight to pop the spoiler throws it into a fast left and nice loud clunk that located the problem - small tin of mints I'd in the small drivers side dash storage. Mints relocated to centre, Corrado enjoyment resumed.
