  1. Sounds like tired bearings. I assumed it was the water pump as I have replaced the power steering pump thinking this was the problem as it sounded like it was low down. Before getting stuck in to changing the water pump i took the aux belt of and ran the engine just incase. Turns out to not be any of the parts run off the aux belt. So it's something internal. Oil pump? Something worse? Any ideas? Thanks Chris
  2. I have the corrado up on stands at the moment and thought about giving the whole wheel arch area a clean. I don't have a jet wash so can anyone recommend products to use. Most importantly what to use to seal the coilover struts and threads. Thanks
  3. Did u get the sunroof panel re trimmed? Curious to know where to get fabric from or cost of trimming..
  4. I have now got a different fan controller and have now got the after run working on the fan when I bridge the yellow sensor. Now I need to sort wiring for the aux pump. Can anyone tell me what pin from the main engine 42 pin connection the +ve red black wire comes from? I've tried to chop the black red and bypass the 42pin but it made the engine run rough.
  5. I did the same bought a set of 300 different size o rings for about £7 from amazon. link from someone on here and has worked fine since. If you live anywhere near Hastings East Sussex Rich I'll drop u one round.
  6. I think your problem is the fan. Bridging the rad temp sender is the test for this. If the aux pump came on then this shows the stage two circuit is functioning correctly ( except your fans). I believe the run on is controlled by the fan controller although there is a mythical relay no.14
  7. Check out the ultimate cooling guide for which wires to bridge on the rad plug to check the different speeds of the fans.
  8. My fans will work if I bridge the terminals on the rad sensor. Have you tried this with yours?
  9. I bridged the yellow temp sender as per the Bentley diagram. Any ideas what values I should be seeing on the pins of the connector for yellow sender My red black to pump must have come out from the connector. Any idea what pin this should be from the connector? Although I should be able to bypass the connector to test it.
  10. My vr hasn't had a working aux pump since I've owned it. It was deleted for a little while when the pump died. When I decided to replace it, I'm not entirely sure my local "vw specialist" had got it working. It certainly wasn't in the correct position. It was plumbed in to the right pipes but laying down unsupported. It ended up that the wiring got damaged. Now I have asked numerous different people who have worked on my car to have a look and try and fix it but unfortunately none have. My pump is going to need replacing again. So I'm looking to try and figure out getting power to it myself. So my understanding is. With the ignition on there should be 12v to the pump. This is fed via the fan controller black with red stripe wire from wp pin? I have traced this wire down to the main multi pin plug but there is not one of the same colour on the other side. I tested the voltage & was getting 7v but with the cable cut the voltage was coming from the engine side not fan controller. If I bridge the pins on the yellow temp sender I don't get any reaction from the fans. Does the car need to be a certain temperature for this? Does the earth wire just go an earth mount on the block? I have another fan controller on the way. The one I have now is getting the 12v feed on the yellow & black wire. Thank you for taking your time to read this any help will be greatly received Regards Chris
  11. I've been offered one many thanks.
  12. Looking for one part no. 1h0 919 506 Cheers Chris
  13. I got some gaz ones for £420 I think they are probably the cheapest set with full adjustability height and damper. Had them on for 9 months seem pretty good so far.
  14. Thanks Tom I have been offered one already. If I have any problems with it then I'll be in touch. Regards Chris
  15. Anyone got a good condition one going spare? Cheers Chris
  16. I had a similar problem. I ended up using some dpc to channel the water so it didn't collect on the door membrane seal. I taped it on the outside of the door frame and tucked it through to the inside. Then sealed over the top of it. It has been fine since.
  17. Thanks. Thursdave I'll pm a small list over. I've a few other bits you may be able to help me with too.
  18. Good evening all! Can anyone give me an idea what size screws and speed nuts are needed for the splitter to attach to the bumper at the sides. Thanks Chris
