Got a keen track fan who owns a 200sx S14a and cant understand why I would want to buy a VR6 Corrado to replace the 200... he says its driven through the wrong wheels and is a 'scrabble machine'.... I've told him he obviously hasnt driven a Corrado yet but he wants some evidence... Any takers... ?

Ignition Switch.......

Pagids are good... but the best pads have ever used: Ferrodo DS2500's AWESOME!!!
-
Ahhh Dinkus... long time no hear - you finished smashing up the UK's supply of VR6's? ;) I do want a travck car but the SXOC want me to get a S13... I fancy a 16v Corrado though stripped out with cage :)

standard 0-60 times... mines weird but good!

Only just seen this thread - thats serious figures for a NA 16v :) I've done 1/4 in 13.98 with a fluffed gear change and on skinny wheels but thats with around 290bhp-ish... to get into the 14's with a NA engine is admirable :) -
Kev - not meaning to disagree with you but I changed oil based on oilmans advice... I run Silkolene Pro S 10w 50 in my modified 200 and its made a HUGE difference... so much smoother... With you now running forced induction I would recommend you try this oil...

8) Looks like an old valver will need to be sourced for a bit of tracking 8)
-
Cheers for that Kev... I'm not bored / fed up with the 200sx at all - far from it ... I have really sorted the car now... engine / suspension / brakes / etc its all done :) I just fancy another Corrado... I'm also seriously considering track days next year and thinking an old 16v Corrado would be ideal :)

Thats an impressive figure... :) A stage 3 would only slaughter me until I also add FMIC and injectors / mapping (£1k) then its bye bye... dont forget the SR20DET is good for over 350bhp without rebuilding engine... 450bhp for a £1500 rebuild ... ;) - anyway.... But jesting apart the fact you are running that sort of power is really winning me over... the best of both worlds is my thoughts - Corrado looks, 200sx power :D So you dont have a problem putting the power down then? What about oil / water cooling? - necessary? Do you need uprated fuel management / chipping? What sort of money am I looking at for supercharger conversion?
-
Got any figures mate.... My 200 is now pushing 300bhp with torque to match... hits 60 in 5 seconds flat and will bounce off the speed limiter at 155  so I doubt you will hold off my 200 easily :-P  How does the VR chassis cope with the power from the charger?
-
Hi Guys, I'm missing my old Corrado and the other half is also missing it... issue is if I went back to a Corrado it would need to be supercharged as I am used to the power my 200 puts out.... So does anyone of any supercharged Corrado's for sale or what sort of money I am looking at to buy a supercharger kit? What sort of money do decent VR's go for these days? Cheers Scott

Good god... I thought this was a funny forum ;)
-
Cheers guys! I would.... but its finding a decent VR6 in the first place thats worth bolting a charger too :) Kev knows how fussy I am when it comes to mint cars ;)
-
Hey ppl, I dont know why I keep coming back to read all the posts on here when I no longer have a Corrado but even after not owning a Corrado for nearly 9 months 5 days 8 mins and 55 seconds (kidding) I still miss my old VR6  I was just speaking to the other half about it and was serious in that if somebody offered me a decent VR6 in swap for my 1999 S14a (270bhp) I'd do it without flinching.... The fact is the Corrado VR6 was and still is my dream car (her words not mine) 8)
-
Red actually looks great on the G60  Cheers people... Its always good to see some feedback on Corrado problems although after owning Corrados for over 5yrs I do know most of em  Still miss my VR6 :( One day... I WILL have another... and no Chris not a G60
-
Hey Guys.... Chris is a good mate of mine so be nice ;)
-
The 200 is defo better on fuel than my old VR6 when I'm running it at standard boost - I get around 30mpg up to about 38mpg on the motorway.... stick it on high boost though and I get 20 - 22mpg :)
-
Its a great car - no doubting that.. but every time I see a sweet VR6 on the road I think 'maybe its time for another' ;)

Standard Spec V Touring Spec Touring has these extras: Passenger Airbag Leather CD Multichanger Sideskirts Thats it ;) My standard spec car has: CD Multichanger Factory fitted stainless sill plates Factory fitted plastic headlamp covers (essential as headlamps are £500 a pop) So I lose the leather (that I dont like) and the side skirts (that I dont want as they cause bad rust as they trap dirt / water in) and the passenger airbag that I do need ;) Car is being rolling roaded next month - expecting in the region of 290bhp / 280lbft torque ... :)
-
Thanks Andy - I'm not a fan of leather interiors hence why I went for a non touring spec'd car - its rarer for starters ;) My car is luckily enough to have a few factory options that the touring cars dont get so I'm not too bothered :)
