Forum link: http://www.ftooc.org Just run a search on 'Corrado' and you will probably get every post I have started
-
Fair point on the 'told u so' but as Jim rightly says I did this for a reason and that reason was I have had Corrados for over 5 yrs in total and was the only real sports car have owned - I wanted to try something new.... The FTO is a great car and certainly holds a candle to the VR6 in some aspects - in fact a few reviews compare them with the VR6 Corrado and thats what made me chose the FTO especially with the comparisons to the Teg 'R' As for having one as a weekend car... thats exactly what my FTO is supposed to be... - Diesel for work... I have cheered up a bit now anyway as been looking at what I can do to make it a little quicker as the chassis is crying out for even more power... ... I do miss my Corrado though but I think this is more down to having had them so long than it actually being a better car. By the way the FTO forum guys hold the Corrado in high respect if you ever want to pop over 8)

I actually meant everyone looks at it mate - in fact on two or three occasions people have literally stopped what they are doing and stared at the FTO - it gets alot of attention - too much to be honest... My missus is accusing me of not giving the FTO a chance and in a way she is right... we'll see how it goes might even buy a 3rd car But to be fair the VR6 cost me next to nothing in 2 1/2 yrs of ownership... wasnt complaining about reliability but I did sell it before the chains / clutch / etc needed doing....
-
I have got to admit it but now I have got over the 'new car' syndrome I am beginning to miss my VR6. I dont know why because my FTO is a stonking car and gets alot of attention where ever it goes - the girls love it  But it just doesnt feel right - after 5yrs of Corrado ownership and not having one for 3 weeks now I'm tempted to sell the FTO and go out and buy another Corrado
-
I hope you find somewhere safe to drive it mate... I'm a member of the BRCA (British Radio Control Association) as race 1/10th at National events... they have insurance as part of the membership cost and well worth considering getting... Also make sure you fit a fail safe.

Oulton Park would be very hard on the VR6 mate... its very short and tight... the down hill section into the the chicane and up the hill is one of the hardest parts of the track and a nightmare to get it right... come off and you have a concrete wall
-
LOL - I would be well up for that... the FTO will be a match for ANY standard VR6... would be interesting to see how it compares to a fettled one though... So BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-P
-
Can I bring this FTO to this track day
-
Sorry Kev: Correction: FTO in fact has rear multi link suspension... ;)
-
I've been told by alot of alarm installers that recently newer cliffords have had faults come up that they are struggling to fix... its why I went for a TOAD Ai606 CAT 1... otherwise I would have got a Clifford... You do know the CAT 2 has to be ripped out if you upgrade to a CAT 1?
-
But for a car that does 0-60 mph in 6 secs and capable of over 150mph I dont think they are expensive!!! Thats supercar territory and they are worth every penny!
-
Not too mention alot of the general boy racer brigade thinking they are too expensive for an 'old' car...
-
the classic green storm looks better :D ........anyway we could well arrange this......what do u think Pau1???? game on??? Nah classic green is grim - my mate has his storm this colour and looks dull to be honest :-P  Oak green is my fav VW colour...
-
The inspection is a waste of time - they pick up so many 'nit picks' as they dont take into consideration the fact its a ten year old car... Take the buyers guide with you - tick them off as you check it - if the condition is good and its ok with the checks you have done then buy it. I did mine like that and was a great car for the 2 1/2 yrs I had it and the new owner is loving it 8)
-
Nowt wrong with the GSF one either - it fits spot on!
-
Got a brand new one sat in the garage if you want it..........
-
Do you think mate I would buy anything but mint
-
I love it mate - its a fantastic car... as fast as my old VR6 just in a different way and handles like a go kart... I believe the reviews now where they say its up there with the Integra Type R... I made the right decision to trade my VR6 in but boy do I still miss her.... having had Corrados for 5yrs it does feel strange driving something totally different!!! FYI: ALL FTO's were imports although in 2000 Ralliart imported them through Mitsubushi and they were registered as UK Spec cars...
-
In your opinion maybe... but thats not what counts :-P
-
