You shouldnt be revving to 3000 - 3300rpm from cold anyway
-
I really cant see mate why you having problems selling it - it looks superb. 8)
-
Yes the turn 2 is great.... but compared to my £10 RAM AIR induction kit it was no competition ( I got lucky - a mate sold his VR6 and took the RAM AIR off - he forgot about it till I asked about it - ten notes he said *:D) :D
-
Yeah I agree.... prefer a ABS equipped car myself. I do think the brakes are not so hot on VR6's myself though - they do the job but when used in anger I often get brake fade and lots of heat..... brand new discs and pads too...
-
Yup quiet at low rpm.... nice deep roar when get to 4000 rpm....
-
RAM AIR... no competition
-
Yes I know ... its not something have ever done in the VR6 but have done it many times in my old GTE 16V... - just for the hell of it
-
The Alfa GTV V6 is a no better car than a decent VR6 ... mark my words - my workmate has just bought one here at work and we 'compared' like with like - they are both very similar in terms of performance with the VR6 reaching 60mph 0.2 secs faster but 1/4 mile times are the same (15.1) The VR6 has a shorter wheelbase too and handles better am told.... I reckon the VR6 will do fine against the others although I think the S2 will win it overall then the VR6...

I think ABS rocks when you are being a loony.... - you can turn and lock up the brakes (or try too) at the same time ... its great!
-
LOL LOL
-
True good point... I have traction issues with my Pug 306 TDi that has 145lbft torque at just 2200rpm... does that count?  Mucho wheel spin......
-
LOL - its like listening to myself here.... small mortgage, no debts (also binned the credit cards except my gold card  ) and cars paid for and I remind my mates of this when they are shoving their 'newer' motors in my face

it's not that that bugs me. If you have the money fair enough, spend it at will it's the "finance dependants" that do my head in.....people who buy things that they'll never ever pay for bcasue they couldn't afford them in the first place. If you can't afford, go without. Yes but as pointed out people dont always have time / money to 'wait' until they have enough money to buy a decent car and is where finance comes in handy... circumstances are different for everyone. If you have a family with kids and your only car packs up for good you might consider buying something brand new for dependability yes? Some people buy a brand new car on finance in the know that after 3 yrs they have paid for it outright and therefore have a 3 yr old car that they own.... there is also the security issue that they know how its been treated in the past as they are the sole owner... so no un-certaintany on their part. Non - mechanically minded people prefer newer cars as the presume they will be more reliable and too a point this is likely to be true. There are various reasons as everyone is different. I for one prefer to pay for my cars in cash - always have but I would never dismiss finance if I wanted something newer - its no different to taking out a loan to pay for things (although more secure with loan)... There is also the status  - thats goes with a brand new car....
-
shame they are so far away

I have got Sat Nav mate ... TOM TOM 3.. it shows you speed via GPS satellites...
-
Total bo**ocks mate..... YOU chose what happens to your car in the event of an accident not the insurer! - Its your car not theirs!!! Stick your foot down. If it should happen you get quotes from their approved garages and then go somewhere you want the car repaired and come quotes.... I can bet you if its cheaper the insurance will allow it... failing that you can always pay the difference... but even better - DONT CRASH  Oh and Elephant are under written by direct line so I wouldnt touch them with a barge pole....
-
lol... the relay boxes are the ABS electrics!!!
-
Yup I use GPS to monitor my speed..... 50 mph on a gps is 57mph on my Pug and 54 on my VR...
-
lol lol.... Actually the 1.8 16v has 118lbft torque .........
-
I got 159bhp at the wheels..... not bad for a 113k miler VR6 thats never been apart But yeah I agree the wheel figure is the most important.... shame most people dont realise this and quote over inflated flywheel bhp figures....
-
Yeah I agree John.... My 93 reg in August 93 has the black plastic sill covers with 'Corrado' in them.... I also changed the door handles on my VR6 with ones from my old 16V (1991) and although I losed the 'lip' on outside the rest was same and I have retained sunroof / cl / window closure, etc.... and a couple of other things I have forgotten now
-
Perhaps now is the time to mention that I have spent including parts, servicing, valetting, etc, etc.... £456.78 in 18 months  ahem. Although its all about to change...... I blame Kev myself
-
make sure you let us know how it goes.... although personally I think the Alfa will win... But let us know when we can read it as a mate hear at work also has a GTV V6...

Its pretty simple people: Clay Bar to remove rubbish from paint. Stages one, two and three (cleaner, polish and carnuba wax) Then use Gold Class regularly (every 2/3 months) to keep the shine and it will be as clean as mine is now... For interior have used them all - nothing comes close to Autoglym.... Tyres.... Autoglym... Black plastic.... Autoglym Bumper care Windows... Autoglym Glass Polish Interior plastic... erm Autoglym Vinyl Cleaner... And yes I do have FAR to many cleaning products in my garage.... oh... engine... ahem... Autoglym!
