  1. What sort of money - very interested!
  2. I suspect you fix the problems you have mentioned and you'll find the cause.........
  3. I'm sure you can find some hacking software for that
  4. standard VR's are supposed to do quarter mile in 15.1 ..........
  5. Yup I agree... either way they are two different type of cars - I have driven both and prefer the VR6 - but thats just me.... :)
  6. Yup but these are insurance companies we are talking about - they dont just give you what they want..... it took me nearly 6 months to get a payout that was happy with on my old Corrado.... all they see is a ten yr old car... and then see the trade guides.... Just best to be warned  But best of luck!
  7. But either way you cannot compare a 245bhp G60 to a standard VR6
  8. I dont think thats strictly true.... G60 with 200bhp VR6 with 200bhp From standing start the VR6 will win - simply because of the gearing... the G60 will start to catch up as it gets into 3rd gear.... once the speeds go above 100mph then the capacity of the VR lump will pull the car ahead... But even so the G60 will 'worry' the VR6 quite easily... especially when it starts to get twisty at speed as the G60 is lighter....
  9. Yup defo too 'ott' but 18's would look cool - would only use them for posing though as you certainly wont be able to 'drive' the car with those wheels on!
  10. I can tell you now mate - no insurer in this world is going to give you £5.5 - 6k for a VR6 unless it had an agreed value on it with the insurer. They will offer you £3.5 - 4k... Its why I have agreed value insurance. The value you gave or the car is what you valued the car at - not the insurers - unfortunately they will look up prices on autotrader and then consult trade guides and offer you something between it. I had nearly 6 months of grief with my old 16V 2 yrs ago... its alot worse now apparently! But like suggested get adverts from everywhere with high values, auto trader, ccgb, vw magazines, etc and that will count for something. Cheers Scott
  11. At that kind of speed your speedo will be around 8 - 10% over reading... therefore its likely you were doing a real 122mph ish.... GPS will confirm this. Its why I can see over 150mph on the VR6 and its still pulling.........
  12. Looks pretty cool to me - I would buy one
  13. The RAM AIR has a samco hose to place it further away from the MAF sensor... :-P
  14. I cant believe anyone would own a Corrado without at least putting a CAT 1 alarm and immobiliser on it.... you are simply asking to have it stolen otherwise.
  15. That looks superb mate - how DID you get your inner wing that clean! I cant for the life of me remove this black gunk off mine...
  16. Do the heater systems in VR's have the one way valve in the heater matrix line like the 16V's - in front of bulkhead? My 16V did exactly the same as you mentioned and it was this valve .. Scott
  17. I was going to say £600 - its a good figure to be honest... They arent cheap cars to work on full stop.... if you want cheap buy a Fiat Panda
  18. Mate, the only reason I know is that I bought a damaged and written off Corrado VR for salvage last year that needed a quarter and it was worth alot more than 5k. It's the labour involved in doing a quarter "by the book" that causes alot of C's to be written off. The "full" new quarter panel is welded into the strip above the rear quarter glass. If the damage in this case is below the swage line, one way to reduce costs would be to cut the original quarter panel on the swage line directly under the quarter glass and then weld the new panel onto this point. This route is not by the book (as that involves doing the whole panel) but if done by a proper skilled bodyshop would be a ok, especially when considering cost. It may be an option, as long as the bodyshop know what they're doing. HTH and good luck dinkus I am with you there mate - the rear quarter panel is a expensive and difficult job - 2yrs ago my £5k 16V was written off because of the fact it required both sides doing.... :(
  19. I reckon rolling road and remap for you matey.... dont give up yet eh?
  20. Scott

    BP Ultimate...

You get 500 miles to a tank? - If you use Texaco diesel you can get 600  - at least I do and I dont hang about.... I have no idea about yours but my diesel is mechanical fuel injection not HDi therefore no ECU. Scott
  21. Exactly my point.............
  22. Ok. So if you hit a £100k Porsche up the rear end at speed in somebody elses car - injure the passengers badly to the point they that they are going to sue you for costs, stress caused, injury, hire car, blah, blah........ You really think the insurance will cough up on your behalf? - As if! Scott
  23. I'm sorry but no matter what is stated - ANY car that you drive must have a insurance policy on it - either by you or somebody else. I have a mate who has done what you are saying (or saying cant do) and got caught out... its not worth the risk.
  24. Nope - TPF&T can also have windscreen cover.... mine did years ago...
