    boost leak

Did you try the method g-man has posted about checking for boost leaks. Disconnect the plastic ball that controls the boost return flap. Make up a soapy soultion (washing up liquid and water) and squirk it around the areas you suspect are leaking. Then manually close the boost return. The system fills with air and you will spot any obvious leaks. But dont hold the flap closed for too long. I think g-man says something like 3 secs.
  3. Cheers Henny, have to get these soon for the bro's crimbo box. Wish someone would buy me stuff for my car :x-mas: Dear santa...............SNS 5.5, g-werks exhaust, big valve head, coilovers, brembos wish wish wish wish
  4. Hi all, Just wondering does anyone know were I can get a set of these ? In right hand drive of course :-) Cheers Mark
  5. Biggest headache for the guy who I bought the kit off was getting a pipe made up from the SC to the IC. The IC to TB pipe is pretty much a straight pipe with the CO pot fitted. The inlet and outlet are on both sides of the IC so no need for the rallye u-bend.
  6. Its made by 'Allard' but its not a new one. Was on a couple of G60's before mine so has being around for a while. And I didnt bother to take any measure ments when fitting the thing so cant provide any help there. When I get around to fitting my oil cooler Ill keep a measuring tape handy.
  7. Any idea at what temp the mocal thermo opens at ? Have one waiting to be fitted and hate waiting for the oil temp to heat up before I can really drive the car hard. Is it going to take much longer to get up to temp ? What about water temps. Do they drop much once the oil cooler has being fitted and the water is not cooling the oil ?
  8. Heres mine. The rad is moved flush with the panel now so looks a bit tidier. Required a fair bit of triming to the front panel but other then thats its a neat enough install. Want a nicer looking IC to TB boost pipe made up. And im sure its getting plenty of airflow behind the grill and with it removed plenty of the core is exposed.
  9. Get an bigger intercooler - Golf / Rallye or whatever you can fit. Will make a noticable difference to power.

    ETKA Request

Yeah pretty sure they are rado seats. The interior came from Germany - front seats, rear bench and door cards. Door cards are early style, and the leather matchs 100% front and back. Seating position is exactly the same as with the original interior so no reason to doubt. With the help of the diagram hopefully I can figure something out.
  12. An SNS5.5 chip and 68mm pully is a good start to modding a G60. http://www.snstuning.co.uk/ But you want to make sure your charger and the engine is running well before you start modding.

    ETKA Request

@GIXXERUK - thats how my loom is - 2 rows of 3 pins but my seats are different. Its just one row of 6 pins. Thats why I was thinking Im missing a piece of the loom or I have a recaro loom and I need a loom for normal sports seats. @ Lippy - the pdf is from that Russain EKTA site so not sure if its copyright or not. Click the link below and scroll down to the bottom until you see corrado and then select the year you want. http://www.volkswagen.msk.ru/index.php?p=page09

    ETKA Request

no problem folks. I found a great PDF with all the corrado wiring diagrams. I just have to figure out why my heated loom has a different connector then my seats.

    ETKA Request

Okay I have a heated seat loom for ages now. Reason why I have not bothered to fit it is because its obvious the block connectors will not plug into the blocks in the seats. The seats have a flat style male block (with six pins in a row) and the heated loom has a fat block with 3 pins on top of another 3 pins below (not a good description I know). And its not as easy as cutting the wires and matching the colors up as the looms on the seat are all brown or brown/black and the heated loom has different color wires - red, black , green etc. Im wodering am I missing any pieces from the loom. Is there an extra part of the loom I need to plug into the seats. An ETKA diagram would be great. Or is is that my loom is for recaro heated seats and does not match my noraml seats. Any help appreciated cause its getting cold now and heated seats would be great.
  16. Is the lights on buzzer not standard !?! There is one fitted to my car anyway (and it sounds absoulty pants)
  17. That is a Golf 3 Anniversary Gear knob. I fitted one to my mk2 16v Golf before. Not cheap if I remember - 80 Irish pound I think.
  18. Could very well be the Blue Temp Sensor at the front of the block. When mine was stuffed the power was erratic and the fuel consumption was crazy. Its and cheap easy fix too.
  19. My understanding of making sure you have no airlocks is to re-fill your system and let the engine run with the cap off the expansion tank until the coolant starts to bubble. This will force any air in the system to the top.
  20. I assembled mine dry without any sealer. Torqued all bolts by hand and then ran a bead of sealer inside the gap between the rim and hub. Wet your finger and smooth out the sealer making sure its packed into the gap nice and tight. Left them a couple of days befroe fitting tyres and they have never leaked. There is a BBS thread on vw vortex and says this is the best way to do it but if you look in the Golf mag this month there is an article about refurbing BBS and it says to run sealer around the two mating surfaces and then assemble. Have to say OSV, those wheels look truely awesome, pure class 8)
  21. Could be either RM or RS mate. When stripping dont use any power tools as you stand more or a chance of snapping a bolt. Out of 4 wheels / 120 bolts only one snapped in my RMs.
  22. MAF boost readings are not meant to be the most accurate (so they say). A boost gauge is you best bet. Also if you have the head flowed or bigger intercooler this will reduce boost pressure caue there is less resistance but in reality you will still be flowing the same amount of boost.
  23. Ahh nice to see your working away Ed. Another Golf sponsered by Ed motorsports :-)
