Relax clumpy, simple typo, I'm sure even you make them. I'll be checking with VW tomorrow. Several years ago these were obsolete. ---------- Post added at 7:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:57 PM ---------- Thanks for clarifying KIP. Good to see you still with the Corrado scene. Do you still have your VR6?

Diavia A/C for Corrado VR6 £100 plus postage.

Keith at ACE in Chertsey is a very skilled chap on AC. If ever anyone gets stuck with a Diavia set up or install, he's your man. -
I had some body mods done to mine which you can just make out in the rear shot - roof aerial and wiper delete and hole welded up, toe eye in the rear bumper removed and hole filled. Smoothed off the look really well, but does detract from the originality. I sold the RS's separately. I bought one of the first sets that came into the country when BBS cleared them out of their warehouse. I bought the wheels before I even had the Corrado! They were mint, original finish. As I'm sure you are aware the original finish is notoriously difficult to keep blemish free. Once damaged the only solution is to have them polished. Keep yours well! ---------- Post added at 2:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 2:27 PM ---------- The Supersprint system is excellent, really produces a subtle deep tone and looks in the spirit of the OE tailpipe in terms of angle and shape, only filling the bumper cut out better. The fit can be a bit hit and miss though, so entrust a good fitter with the task. IIRC I bought some special heavy duty chained exhaust hangers to secure it properly. The simple rubber versions were not up to the task.

Will do, cheers

They are great cars. Looks like you've been a bit busy with the spanners since I last logged in LOL! Yes, still got it.

Hi Chris. I do miss my old VR. Looking at the old pics makes me want another! I sold the car in standard spec to another Corrado nutter in London. He then sold it to a chap on here called Bornemouth James - last I heard it's with James. It was an exceptional car as it had every option available bar the auto 'box and those funny 5 spoke alternative wheels. It also produced freakish power despite as a bog std factory unit as Vince @ Stealth will tell you. I wasn't convinced the power figure was reliable, but when it was replicated at AmD I realised it really was an exceptional example. I love your car. It's been absolutely superbly looked after. A particularly vivid memory is of driving back from GTI International in 2002 will Bill - these cars are so much fun! Enjoy!

Yes mate! Hope you're well mate. Your Corrado loyalty is inspiring!
-
Hey Gareth, have you still got this peachy VR6? Hope you're well mate, long time!

Congrats on buying a very fine car. I spent many an hour with Bill about 10 years ago showing our cars at various shows and Corrado meets. Bill is a true gent and really loved this car. Great to see it's gone to a good home. Enjoy and I hope it gives you many many miles of happy motoring. The Corrado VR6 is a true classic. IMO there are 2 wheels that suit the VR6 perfectly - both BBS - RS and RC in 17". RS' are my favourite.

Guys, I have a brand new boxed gauge console available. The only caveat is I need to remember where I've put them away for safe keeping! PM me with genuine interest and your offer please. Kev, hope you don't mind an old codger like me hijacking the thread!

Bournemouth James' VR6, BBS LMs finally fitted
MoonlightVR replied to Bournemouth James's topic in Members Gallery
Kip, the dimpled sill protectors where fitted to early Corrados - late ones got the (thicker) ugly plastic strips. I removed the originals and bought these earlier versions from my local VR dealer. James, hats off to you, I'm so glad it's gone to a good home :D You've put the wheels I probably would have done next if I'd kept it! I so miss this car :notworthy: Hope we can hook up some time - I'd love to see it again! -
Finally the new Dub Project.... Another set of wheels!

Fooking 'ell Jam-es, you're a nut nut  Looking good mate! You breaking a Maybach then? You gonna squeeze the drinks cabinet into the Mk4? -
MoonlightVR Pics - Sad day - 26/2/06 - SOLD IT :-( Pics pg11

I really really miss it! :salute:   -
That Vauxhall stuff will be fine as 10w40 is arguably the ideal viscosity for a VR6. Quantun silver is exactly the same spec, 10w40 semi-synthetic.

I don't have many regrets, but one will definitely be not seeing this car in it's current guise before it's sold. A stunning car, and one you really needed to hold on to mate. Unique doesn't cover it! As for 964/911s, I'm sure you'll really enjoy the experience. There is nothing quite like an air cooled 911 and you'll soon be enjoying one the most charasmatic cars ever made. A true icon! 2 of my favourite 964s: -
Yes. Got mine through a good friend at ECP, so bit of a deal  The standard Bilstein dampers are good, but the gas ones are better, but they cost more. Or you can try Sachs gas dampers through GSF. Both are better than VW OE. Not a good combination. Lowering springs are best used with uprated dampers. Most uprated dampers are shorter than OE and designed to be used with lowering springs (which are also shorter). If you intend to use OE length dampers (like the Bilsteins or Sachs), you're best off with standard springs. Short springs + standard dampers = terrible ride. Look out on eBay, some standard VR springs are bound to come up. Or put a wanted ad on the forum - no one drives a standard ride height VR on here

 P!ss poor service mate. I'm stunned! Try blagging a set of springs from another VR owner on here, or eBay?
