1st line - ??!!?? Sold both sets of rims mate - sorry bud. Lukeage, still got her mate. In the process of putting it back to standard. All work on hold until after my sisters wedding next month, then I'll advertise it properly. We'll have to meet up somewhere round here once I've got it back on the road. Enjoy the car mate, it sounds a peach!

Lovely car mate. Moonlight's a lovely colour in the sun
  3. Not with a curve on the spokes like these have. Certainly not VW issue wheels. Have you taken one off and checked it for markings?
  4. All convertibles made by Karman, and those wheels are not VW.
  5. Looks like Passats are getting popular to mod! Lovely picks Furki. Loving the yellow RS4 on LMs, lush. You got any more picks of the Inari silver Mk1 16V on RS's?
  6. I guess so, but I would have though all fixed brake line terminals would be the same regardless of model?? Unless the flexi brake lines vary on the Mk4s??
  7. Unfortunately I'm not mate, my sister is getting married on the 4th Sept. It's a shame as E38 is the only show I want to go to in the UK. I catch up with you at some stage though. I looking forward to seeing the changes - it's a different car in the time since I last saw it!
  8. How much work? Mate you are one committed chappie! Amazing stuff!
  9. How's that then Jay? My 312 set up came off a Mk4 V6 motion and the original hoses would not connect to the fixed brake line on my VR. Vince fitted Mk3 Golf VR6 Goodridge hoses which worked fine. I needed 4 washers to get the correct offset on the carriers. I can't comment on 288s, but the 312s totally transformed the brakes on my VR. I went with 8 groove Pagid discs and Fast Road pads. Excellent bite and response from any mad VR speeds  what the car should have had from the factory.... Although I never got ride of the rather dead pedal (especially first part of the pedal travel) these VRs have. Always bugged me  As we speak my 312 set up is winging it's way to another forum member in a very large and heavy box
  10. Is a b!tch of a place mate. Best to take the drivers side headlamp out and try from there. Make sure you car is cold before you try!
  11. This will be the reason why the V5 breezed past you. If the Schrick flap was staying closed past 4k rpm you'd have about 160 bhp odd bhp at your disposal! I really doubt the overfill would have destroyed your cat unless it was a massive overfill and your cat was already on it's way out.... If they put 6l in I'd say you're fine. One easy way to find out - go to an MOT station and get a emissions test done. Admittedly Stealth need to be careful they don't overfill cars, but 6l instead of 5.5l isn't going to ruin cars!
  12. LHD-G60 That paint will fade again in no time with just the wax applied. It needs to be cut back properly and then sealed (and continue sealing regularly) with a good wax. Get it professionally mopped with G11 and then wax it regularly.
  13. The pads will come out, but you won't have to wind the piston back as you're putting the same pads back in.
  14. Sounds a good car Phat. Bet you got it for next to nothing as well!
  15. It's easy mate. Take the caliper off (2 bolts hold it to the carrier) and then remove the small cross head screw that secures the disc to the hub. Screw may be difficult to remove so worth using an impact screwdriver or similar to remove.
  16. Dentist? Show me the money!!! You'll be driving a Ferrari before long
  17. But you're a Dr  You can do alot better than Autoglym mate. The Swissol type waxes cost £££ but last alot longer plus you use physically less wax per application, so quite cost effective long term. I use Meguiars stuff and am happy with the results. Alot better than Autoglym - last longer, not abrasive (like Super Resin is) and not dusty (which really winds me up, esp on a dark metallic). BTW the Meguiars stuff I use is NXT. Smells lovely too
  18. How many miles mate? Many previous owners?
  19. Forget about everyone else mate, it's all about chosing the right car for you. Forget convention, it's boring!
  20. It's waht the T-cut does to that freshly cut paint that is the issue. This is why the cut paint is fading again so quickly. Probably best to have the machine poilshed professionally and then apply good wax regularly.
  21. You wait until you drive your car after it's been fitted!
