Cheers Guys! Good to meet you Roger, sorry I didn't get a chance to walk around and meet you Scarlet, maybe bump into you another time. I think it went okay, should find out next week! If I manage to get the job and get friendly with some technicians, I'm very tempted by a 968 club sport!

Cheers Bcstudent Scarlet - will try if I get a chance! There is a guy called Roger (ZippyVR6 on here) who works with/near the guy who will be interviewing me - do you know him? I'll be coming along in the BMW 328 as the Corrado is off the road at the mo

The definitive "what exhaust?" discussion thread!
biggerbigneil replied to Jim's topic in Engine Bay
I think a cat bypass is just a term used for the pipes that replace the cat so it is the same as having the cat removed. You could just remove all the crap inside the cat and make it a straight through. If the car comes with a cat in the first place it will need to stay there to get through emissions testing (if J reg/92 and newer) so it's woth getting a sports cat. -
Oooooh!

Looking pretty similar no? Drop her 40mm and add some leather in there and thats all good!

Bumpage! PM me with offers if you're interested, can come and view any time. The amount of scam emails I'm getting from Autotrader is just rediculous so it would be nice to sell to a forum member

Todays idiot - Is it diesel and can I have a latest picture..there are loads on the advert! From: james cole To: mailto:neilsrivastava@yahoo.com Sent: Wednesday, November 8, 2006 4:12:33 PM Subject: 1993 VOLKSWAGEN CORRADO 2.9 VR6 3dr Coupe £4,250 I saw your advert on the internet, i am interested in purchasing it, but first i'd like to know the following things, if its diesel or petrol, and the mileage, and also if it has been involved in any accidents in the past, and other features notmentioned in the ad. In your mail, please get back to me with the recent picture and let me also know your last asking price you'll sell for. Regards Feel free to call me 07024062101

I've had one email like this every day since my VR has been on autotrader, one person asked for my credit card numbers to be faxed over so he could buy my car.. Hi there,i am sending you an enquiry regard your advert forsale on website and i will like to know if it is still for sale or not. Please get back to me if it's up for sale. This is the kind of CAR which my wife has been wanting to have as her own private car and i have promised her that i will make sure i buy this for her.And don't be suprised that i'm buying a car from a far away and i would have decided to buy her a car here but she spent almost 25 years in UK before she came back home, meanwhile she has used to a UK car ,so she found it difficult to drive an opposite side stearing and since it's allowed here to drive it i guessed i have to satisfy her wants. That is the main reason i am proposing to buy your car from far away. Regards the price, i will offer you £4,200 for it which i also beleive it's a good offer and i will want you to please consider it sold to me and my wife by removing the advert from website so there won't be any disturbance on the car again. However,i would like to know also the reason why you are selling the car,if you have any genuine reason of selling the car!!! Are you the first owner of the car? What is the present condition of the CAR ? What is the colour of the CAR ? And when is the m.o.t expires? Please i will want you to get back to me with these answer so that we can proceed from there.. If you can get back to me as soon as possible i would be glad to wrap everything up in a short while so that i can take the possession of the CAR. I will be willing to pay you with a UK Banker's Draft which will clear between 3-4 days in any Uk bank of which i have notify my shipping company that will come for the shipment of the CAR once the DRAFT HAS FULLY CLEARED IN YOUR BANK . And also get all the documents of the CAR ready and every necessary things you know that would be necessary before the CAR could be shipped. So if you are ok with this kindly get back to me we can conclude the transaction asap. Jason Petrov,i'm writing you from Bern , Switzerland mailto:j.petrov@yahoo.co.uk

Haha sorry mate for having a go. £3,500 isn't bad at the prices they seem to be going for at the moment. Mine is up on ebay as a featured item - should be at the top of the corrado car list. Personally I would buy one with as low miles as I could afford There is buyers guide if you use the search with loads of tips in

£500 for the car and £3.5k for wheels and suspension... Get a standard car for £4k and leave the poor thing alone!

Ferrari Experience at Silverstone
biggerbigneil replied to biggerbigneil's topic in General Car Chat
Yes, it's pretty difficult trying to have a conversation whilst racing! The Dodge must have been a handful on all those corners?! -
This was such a good day out! The Ferrari 355 has been a favourite for a long time and driving one was amazing! Unfortuntely it was lhd but everything felt very tight - I've heard someone say the Silverstone 355's felt knackered but this wasn't the case with this one. Day Outline: - Started with a yellow Exige first and was taken out for a slow lap to see where you should brake, lines to take, accelerate etc These were marked with cones: - First red – brake Second red – stop braking Yellow – touch the corners Green – as soon as you can see the green cone in the windscreen you can floor it – I really did! I took the car up to max rev’s in every gear except 6th – not too sure what speed I did (never had a chance to look as was trying to drive fast while trying to take in what the instructor was saying) down the hanger straight but apparently we should be doing around 140mph We weren’t aloud to accelerate or brake around the corners so no power sliding, I did get the back out by accident in the Lotus from entering a corner too fast – I think I scared the instructor haha. I then went out in the Ferrari which was LHD and kept putting it in the wrong gear, but it was still so much fun and very fast. Finally I was taken out for a fast lap in the black Lotus, which was a supercharged 250 bhp version and the guy had the back out around every corner, that was very cool! Pics here: - http://www.fastgerman.com/ferrari.htm ps I wasn't drinking, just holding the bottle..

The definitive "what exhaust?" discussion thread!
biggerbigneil replied to Jim's topic in Engine Bay
They both sound pretty much the same on idle and I would say are very quiet systems compared to other manufacturers. My only criticism is that you still hear too much bass at full throttle - I can hear the exhaust when I want to hear the engine. The Milltek gave this lovely raspy note in the middle of the rev range but kept the unique sound of the VR6. It's quite odd to explain without the sound but here is my old VR filmed by Biggerbigben with a Milltek cat back Sounds amazing! I guess I also fell for the Milltek because it caused me a fair amount of hassle before it was fitted perfectly - it required refitting twice because it kept growing further out the back, I have no idea how but the centre pipe required cutting back twice. It felt like the perfect troublesome exhaust for the perfect troublesome car! Also Halfords sell Magnex… so it is fitted to Corsa’s etc, whereas Milltek is seen on BMW M series, Porsche, Merc etc
