  1. Possibly of interest to those of you who like the Show Some Love thread http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default ... ryId=14726 DO YOU LOVE YOUR CAR ENOUGH? BP competition to win Monaco GP tickets BP Ultimate has launched a search to find the UK’s greatest car lovers -- and the company isn't talking about those who just give their pride and joy a weekly wash-and-vac. The company reckons its first ever national ‘Love Your Car Awards’ were created to reward dedicated drivers who display an extraordinary amount of passion towards their vehicles. What do you get? The national winner will win a once in a lifetime motoring holiday to one of the world’s most glamorous driving destinations. Eleven regional winners will be chosen and each awarded a day-long Aston Martin driving experience -- and from them a national winner is chosen to receive a pair of tickets to the 2007 Monaco Grand Prix. BP Ultimate's Allyson Hunter said: “Worshipping our cars every Sunday morning is a great British tradition but we’re looking for the people who have made ‘car love’ into an art form. We want to find the motorists who love their cars as much or more than their partners, pets and families – the drivers who literally treat their cars with kid gloves. BP's product pitch is that making sure your car is as clean on the inside as it is on the outside leads to many benefits. BP Ultimate actually cleans your engine while you drive by removing the harmful engine deposits ordinary fuels leave behind. This means fewer emissions, more power and an improved fuel economy of up to 28 more miles per tank. Hunter said: “If you look after your car as carefully as BP Ultimate, we want to hear from you.” How to enter Entrants have 150 words to express how and why they show their vehicle some good loving. Perhaps you kiss your Clio goodnight, spend more time with your Punto than your partner or fritter a fortune on luxury valet services. Maybe you choose to sleep in your regularly buffed Beemer instead of your bed! Whatever your affection for your cherished chariot, BP Ultimate wants to know about it. Entrants can log onto the company's site (see link below) and use the ‘Love Your Car Awards’ link to complete an application form. Deadline for entries is Monday 25 September 2006 and it’s essential that you submit a picture of the nomination and your car. http://www.bpultimate.co.uk
  2. Looking very good Phil! Can't believe the price of the leather - good find!
  3. Hi Jay, car looks awesome, loving the photoshop image, black centres would look very cool! Very interested in finding out the costs of running one of these, you'll have to update us with what the most common problems and fixes are. Not sure if 911's have the same M030 suspension upgrades as the 944/968's but think they just use koni suspension and different thicker ARB's. The GT2 body kit and spoiler looks menacing also - stick that on! Neil
  4. I have a nice late spec interior you can swap with mine? Couldn't work out where the thing with the red handles goes so I've left it as it is - looks good no? I bet it's the only like it on the scene!
  5. Well ex - ker - uuuuuse - me Mr Raddas hehe, just put it on the trailer and stop moaning, take you an hour or so
  6. Can't Jay help you Ben? There is a really good guy in Cranleigh that did all my Corrado electrics when the head light loom fried a load of circuits. Think it was Dragonspeed cars or something like that, just next to the Industrial Estate with PMA auto's. Nice looking dyno plot! What happened to the huge back box? I rekon you should get a side exit like an AC Cobra!
  7. Cheers Phil, not living in Guildford anymore, car is in West Sussex but will try and get it along to the next no rice. I'm living in Farnborough for the time being, getting quite tempted by Windsor for a new gaff! Definitely Up for a C meet at Guildford though! Went to West Wittering near Chichester on Sunday and saw my old Corrado go flying past while Hugo was driving. Me "dam look at that Rado! wait... that says L666... Dude turn around!!!" Hugo didn't turn around, I was quite sad for a fair few hours, it did look like it's being looked after though
  8. The Speedies are very mint! Just been done by Pristine - even better than Wicked Wheels! Started putting the interior back in over the weekend, nearly lost my thumb putting the glovebox back in! That glovebox is unnecessarily difficult to take out and put back in.
  9. Glad you like it guys! It was before I started on the body work so I was more worried about the car damaging my jeans lol
  10. Such a lovely car Jay, can't believe you sold it!? Looking forward to seeing the new project! Neil
  11. Took her for a spin tonight, it was fcuking amazing! God I've missed the VR6 noise! Biggerbighugo (Hugo) gave the car a blast as well - motherfooker, he gave it some, still some work left, the brakes are shocking but she goes well and the noise is fantastic! Just been down the pub and I couldn't wait to get home to check the coolant level - looser hehe Wheels on and some more polishing: -
  12. Chassis... underneath of car Undercarriage Simpson> My last one had 60,000 on it and the axle was rusting and there were a few jack marks and bent lips (where you jack the car up). This one is pretty mint Anywhoo, back to work
  13. hehe I will do once the wheels are on changed some hoses and vacuum pipes also - running alot nicer! Still can't believe how nice the chassis is compared to my old one
  14. Gave the car another service with Biggerbighugo over the weekend Synta - 6 litres of the stuff? has it been rebuilt to a 3.0l? I though they only took 5.5l... Changed the oil filter, gaskets, coolant (G12) Started to put back the interior back together Some more polishing and touching up Need to find the time to swap the tyres over to the new wheels and then I'll take her out for a blast and report back! I'm in Telford and Edinburgh for the next three weeks with work, which is slowing down progress - very annoying!
  15. My step bro has a 147 selespeed - it has had a new alternator, engine and none of this was covered by Alfa - it has 40k and a full alfa sh as well. My BMW had a new engine for free! Alfa's are a disgrace Lee - let me know aht you think of the S3 when you've done the tweaking, surely it's not that bad standard. I think the S3 looks very different to a standard A3 - same as an M3 to a normal 3 series. That black TT looks awesome! so does the silver one on page 1! I'm getting tempted by a 330 also... I'm not driving that white honda washing machine - still tempted by an S2000 though and the Elise S2 looks very nice
  16. It went for £19.5k! PPI front bumper also - thought it was an RS4 front That is no hair dressers car, way too mean looking Imagine those looks with the turbo Biggerbigben has on his Corrado 4x4 1.8T hmmmm
  17. This is amazing! TT on 19" LM's and Koni Coilovers - colleagues mate from work
  18. No offense to Passat's - they may look good when you change them but they still aren't interesting. I'm starting to like TT's - see page 1
  19. Passat's are for old people - sorry Darren @ gwerks Passat is the only one I've seen that looks good I think it's going to be an S3, need to sell the Beamer and VR6 now
  20. Why do people have to keep changing my mind!? I was set on an S3 after seeing a black one on 18" RS4's yesterday, now you say the driving experience is boring - is it easy to make it more interesting? Costs etc? I really like the look of them Porsche 968 is starting to leave my dreams, can't believe how expensive 993's still are!
  21. I'm not sure about the S2000 any more - 2 seater isn't really every day enough for me. The S3 is starting to look like a very good idea and still looks really up to date. The E36 does look a bit old, so does the 968 the more I look at it, the 964 911 looks really cool but possibly a bit old for every day. The R32 is probably the biggest competitor at the moment. What about a TT? with some 18/19" BBS CH's on. BMW E46 330ci is also a possibility and I can still get cheap parts
  22. Jimbo - you sir are a class A dirt bag! I like you're thinking, how much are you after for your S3 and how many miles, any mods etc?
