  1. I've just got the part ordered in, £16 which isn't bad and can pick it up tomorrow the Colbournes in Guildford is quite good actually! will need to buy one of those chain tools to take the remainder off
  2. Asim - a new one I'm hoping mate, thing is its also due for a service and although I (now) can do the servicing myself the car has full VW service history so am I going to cut my costs and risk the resale value? or just do everything myself bar the oil servicing and keep the stamp in the book? you are right though I'll have to get phone to get a new part in, I'll call them now. Do you service yours yourself? as the cars are quite rare I don't know if a full vw service history matters as long as everything is carried out and gets a vw check over now and again
  3. Hi, is anyone doing a deal on milltech exhausts? My original one has had enough and think it will collapse shortly. I am just about to order one from Awesome gti for £280 but thought I'd just check here first Milltek Exhaust Corrado VR6 Oval EX-CO-FS-MIL-03 £280
  4. Cheers Asim, I always find out the hard way... still having difficulty removing the rest of the plastic cap, I'm going to take it to the garage tomorrow as don't have one on these chain grip things to remove the rest of it, don't really want to attack my car with a drill. But I know for next time! thanks all!
  5. Cheers greegs will call them first then!
  6. yeah I got the hex screw off, then the whole plastic cap that has the nut end snapped so not too shaw what to do? it doesn't matter if it breaks but don't want to bust anything else, have just filled it back up with oil so will take it to VW tomorrow, haven't cracked enough for it to leak just the end bit of the cover, god knows why its plastic in the first place when everything else is metal?
  7. step Dad has taken my camera for the day, but the rest of the cap is too wide for mole grips, basically the complete plastic bit that the 36mm socket would go onto has completely snapped off, so i can either try and crack the whole thing? or just take it to Volkswagen ask them to do an oil service and then complain if they charge me more than £60...
  8. Okay bought a 36" socket, turned the plastic cap and the end (the part the socket attaches to-nut) has snapped off, any ideas how i get it off now? The actual plastic oil filter cover has cracked
  9. Hi thanks yeah 36 sounds good just found a link earlier http://www.corrado-club.com/faq/detail_faq.CFM?FAQID=30 has a hex screw in the plastic cap then it should just undo with a 36. Thanks for that. Definitely need to buy a new plastic cap as completely cracked the end of it. Do you know a mail order place that might do this?
  10. it just unscrews then? thought it should just very stiff, yeah probably easier if I buy a larger socket size thanks for that. Hopefully can get a new cap from Volkswagen on Monday
  11. I'm sure this should be really simple but is my first attempt with a VR6. Just doing a simple plugs, filter and oil change, drained the oil, and undone the screw for the oil filter under the plastic cap. I cannot remove the plastic cap though to get at the oil filter? Have tried using a spanner and mole grips to turn the plastic end but won't budge any ideas, think I need to buy a new plastic cap as cracked it also
  12. Notice the yellow light at the front of the TATA...on the roof... Our task for the day had we accepted it was to remove all female drivers from the roads of Surrey and West Sussex hehehehe we got some good winks, flashes and thumbs up for our hardwork oh and two tons of horse poop that we had to shovel out of the back onto the side of a road and some remainders when driving at speed were left over drivers behind  :multi:  :splat:
  13. Watch No Girls Allowed at 10am on Channel 5 Saturday Mornings! Gadgets and cars and boys toys (kiddies program), have a look at this car we've been playing in today tata... biggerbigben (mellon head) hehe... is working for them at the mo and his "fabulous" Corrado should be on TV in a few weeks time! Against the opposition (ricers) around the Top Gear track
  14. Lee - The car looks excellent! well done to you! Very nice rims also Quite like the back actually I'm in search for some fully red clusters for mine but don't think they exist, wish someone would hurry up and make some for me!
  15. Thanks for that I will sleep better tonight knowing I haven't wasted too much time refurbing them!
  16. Cheers Asim will have a look in the morning, think it was about 2.2 bar. Yeah if I sold them they aren't going for under a grand thats for sure!
  17. Thanks for that Asim very helpful. Doesn't make me say wow like a VR on 17's though does it The tyre presures on mine are 2.2 bar all round - is this right? The michelin Sports are very good also, had two more on order ages ago and been told another 3 weeks!! Best price I can find the Michelins for is £117 each from my mate at Barons BMW! Good Toyo's Proxes for 16's are £68 another reason for a possible change
  18. Thats a very useful table by the way Thanks for that Kev! :D
  19. Keyhaywire - "Don't worry, I already know what price you have in mind" oh really, you know Ben Taylor? or Radford? cheaky buggers, no just kidding Yeah that is a very good plan to try out some 16's first. This is only a thought I've been having (although for the last three weeks) So won't say a price and won't confirm a decision as yet. Think the tyre set up that sounds good from what others have said on the forum is 205/45/16 I really need to see some more pics as there must be some alloys I have not seen. RS's are also a pain in the back side to maintain! although very pretty
  20. won't say a definite price just yet.... sorry, I will be swayed if I can see a really nice looking C on 16's although the change over though is down to handling not looks
  21. Hi Kevhaywire, cheers for the response. I'm on a pretty good set up FK fully adjustables (Konigsport or whatever) dropped 40mm on medium firmness setting. There is nothing wrong with the ride and will be keeping the suspension Yeah I know the Corrado's look perfect on nearly any 17 inch BBS rim. Not a 100% sure on the sale of the RS's but a possibility in the near future. The michelins are nearly brand new and the Yoko's are still pretty good, just refurbed them myself if you have a look at the pics on the members page. Honestly not a scratch and will sort the center caps out. The car was amazing to drive lowered on the 15's then wacked the 17's on, felt slower excelerating especially up hills and the country roads i'm on in Surrey and West Sussex you really notice the difference in the corners. The car understeers and the rear tyres can screach at lower speeds than on the speedlines. If it was suppose to be on 17's they would have done so in my opinion. The guy that sold it to me also said if he got another it would be on 16's. Can't believe i'm considering this after the time I took with refurbing the RS's :(
  22. Any advice, which ones? any pics on Corrado's etc http://www.ronniecowan.co.uk/BBS%20Alloys%20page.html RX's? The 17's just don't feel quite right, If I sell them they are on 2 x michelin Pilot Sports and 2x Yoko's all 205 40 ZR17's on 17/7.5 j rims
  23. I think a Corrado should be seen doing the Gumball don't you!? and it certainly isn't going to be in mine! it might get dirty...lol You like the hair, i'm really going to get it like that you know. As for the helpful comments I think you need a front bumper to pass your MOT or atleast a number plate... sorry couldn't resist http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... eName=WDVW I rekon this would look sweeeeet mate! :-P
  24. Ah yes that would work, thanks, just noticed a whole on the boot, looks like it should lock in place but the end has snapped off, don't remember it ever being there. Will probably use your grommet idea thanks very much! I'll have another look at the spoiler then, I tightened up a few bolts and it started squeaking maybe a bit of grease or something will do the trick.
