  1. Ah another Neil.... Mine is at JMR also getting the rear axle bushes, mk4 rear brakes, hoses, front ball joints/drop link and a good old check over. Was yours the blue one with the 15" bbs by the garage? very nice if so! a nice Rallye inside also! dropped mine off on sat. I'm missing the old girl already but can't wait till it's out!!!
  2. Looks amazing!!! really like the RH's. Just noticed your rear license plate as was thinking a while ago about getting the black plate. Is it legal and where can you get it done?? They require mortgage details these days to get blasted number plates done!
  3. Done 8k since easter - now on 68k, worrying about going over 70k but if all your nice motors are happily doing that lot maybe I'll just drive it all the time and save up for an engine rebuild later on, I hate watching the mileage go up and worrying about selling it on. My E36 318is had 168k when I sold it, did 40k in one year driving between High Wycombe, Maidenhead, Luton, Bristol and Cardif nearly every week when working for General Motors. I've read in a previous post VR's are best at around 70K anyway!!
  4. Okay lets not have a fight now.... I don't know if I dreamt this... but I was remember being told you could go to Ian Bannings (Guildford) and get an alarm system whereby you could set a timer as well as the alarm etc to start your car up at a certain time of the day (cold mornings) and let it run with the doors locked and steering locked/Immobolised etc and what have you. Shouldn't be too difficult as a friend of mine had a RX7 with a turbo timer which left the engine running for a certain amount of time and you couldn't open the doors or turn the wheel etc. It would be a system similar too that I would have thought no?
  5. atleast you could drive it then!!! Ooooooft, I'm sorry that was below the belt
  6. I'm forwarding this to the girlfriend and parents - haha the Corrado stays forever!!!
  7. are we aloud figures or is that rude asking? price for VR? or wanted price? Price for S3?
  8. Good choice of colour - I'd take that or black!
  9. are you sure thats not your Dad's TVR? TVR interior, TVR steering wheel, TVR wing mirrors oh and the bonnet is up...... (joke)
  10. Ah .... the selling of the C... it has crossed my mind at least a hundred times but... I can honestly say I have a friend who wants to get rid of his S3 (Biggerbigben should know also) he says he wants an R32 cause he doesn't want a car the sqeels at him, more something that ROARS at him! The money you have spent on the C won't come back with the sale I'm sure you know. As for the age of the car (sounds kinda stupid) if you replace the wearing parts -bushes, bearings, mounts, shocks it should feel like a new car again - This is my plan I won't even upgrade to an E36 M3, maybe a 968 club sport but can't afford the insurance. A standard S3 and a VR6 are similar performance one has character and the other doesn't one rattles and the other will soon - that can be solved with carpet tape!!!!!!
  11. not sure mate - I had 205 40 17's all round, FK fully adjustables (Konigsports) and had it all laser aligned etc John is sorting a few chassis parts for me - rear axle bushes, anti-roll bar ball joints/drop link thingy magiggy??? I don't know.... Just know that when I bought the car it was fine bar the dodgy HT leads and sunroof..... and then when I started messing around with wheels and suspension the problems kept on coming - rattling, things breaking, lack of driving enjoyment so went back to square one - not rubbish VW suspension, FK suspension is okay now I have bought a stack load of the carpet sided tape stuff and I'm going to take the whole car apart and put it everywhere when I get a day off! I'm not really thinking of selling it anymore - I'm looking forward to driving it in 10 years time when people are thinking dam it I should have listened to Clarkson/Hammond on Top Gear !!!
  12. Benjamin..... you know as well as everyone else in the universe you don't have change left over from the 5K...... Hows it all going then?! when am I getting a go? or a passenger ride would be excellent also!
  13. I had Mich Pilot Sports on the back and Eagle F1's on the front, excellent on flat roads (only motorways in the UK) otherwise on country bumpkin roads around Cranleigh/Guildford, West Sussex I had near crashes every day so went back to 15's - the roads my way really do suck though. Thats really bad they won't replace just one of the wheels it's not like your sending them back - Write an arsy letter complaining to the company and see what happens - could say you are a member of various car clubs/forums etc and could give them some bad advertising or you could Hype them up for their excellent service and quality products - doubt they would want any bad advertising over one wheel - worth a go anyway Otherwise send the outer off to Spit n' Polish in Kent My problem with 17's were excelerating up hills was like my old 318is and I kept bouncing along the road every time a hit some random bumps (very frequently in Sussex) If I could I'd have 15's that could expand up to 17's when I parked the car - impossible I know....... or get the all the roads in the UK to motorway standards
  14. The outer rim? sorry never heard the word bed plate If it is not serious I would leave it as it's winter time Otherwise you will have to take the tyre off and then unbolt the wheel and I doubt you could straighten it out perfectly. They are amazing wheels so best to leave it till you have time and either send one off or buy the outer rim (if that is the bed plate) Hit a curb or something? If i'm talking about the right area of the wheel chances are if the laquer is not cracked it will be if you knock it back into shape so will start to corode From my brief experience with the RS's - look pretty, handling becomes worse, takes an extra day to clean the car.... But they do look pretty!
  15. Bling Bling!!! no it looks amazing mate - Dinan chip, supercharger, will be sorted! Ben....finishing the car......
  16. tyre pressures, knackered shocks/springs, been in a crash, parked on bad road, different thickness tyres - the list goes on.......
  17. looks very nice! I think the red VR6 badge gives a more aggressive look also! Had to get mine from Wales - apparently the last one in stock in the country

    VR6 - MPG

Whats about right then on distance on a full tank? Mine does around 360-380 miles and costs just under £60 to fill up which isn't great!
  19. They all have active spoilers (might not be working) 2.0 16v is best bet as not as old as 1.8's so posibly less problems, look on autotrader.co.uk EDIT - I got beaten...
  20. Look at John from JMR's car - 16VG60 has a Milltek with one either side
  21. I'm with Elephant also mate very good prices!!!!
  22. theRuler - cheers mate Rest of you buggers with the GAY comments - yes the black tape has been done turning the C into a G..... I am actually looking out for a VR6 number plate. I still have the original sony tape player in - rekon anyone might pay interestingly for it on ebay? looking for a unit which will mainly light up green to keep in character with the rest of the interior (maybe a bit of red also) quite like the Alpine units and the pioneer stainless steel one with the dials either side
  23. Okay getting round to either some Dunlop Sports or The Eagles - depending on prices Bally - cheers for the cheque! Asim - Very happy with the quality of the system, over 3000 rpm I think it is actually quieter than the original system at a steady pace. Putting your foot down gives a slight increase in base with a more raspy note. Mine makes a slight pop if you rev it up to 1500 and let go quickly (which entertains me!). It doesn't backfire at high revs coming off the throttle as some people said happened with theirs. The only problem I've had is the system has grown out the back a bit and had to be refitted due to the nature of stainless steel - but this was done for free. How is the Supersprint? Ben - Given the car a proper blast yet? I really need to get the brakes upgraded, bought a shed load of the velvet tape and i'm going to get rid of every rattle this week!!! Oh I am a fan of JMR also, I expect some further discounts for my plugging and the value of my car to double also.....
  24. I hope so!!! They cost a fair bit to maintain properley, and the ones that have should be worth more as with any Classic! Similar to 944's in price
