  1. cool well that is a plan! How much do you think I can do myself? Are the calipers easy to do and other stuff? what tools needed etc. Would like to learn how to do everything myself (well more than I know now anyway) If I buy the calipers and paint them are there any bits I need to make sure not to get paint on?
  2. Is that for all of what you've listed above? Crossdrilled Zimmer's thats what I was told by John I think. How much for all the calipers? Carriers etc, roughly? I can get trade price at VW stealers so how much are we thinking?
  3. Just passed my second attempt MOT, all brake lines/pipes etc replaced... Calipers are in a complete mess as are discs etc. I love the way it drives on 15's so won't be changing them for any bigger as have some solitudes to go on! The possible plan is:- Mk4 Calipers all around (front and back) are the fronts possible also? Drilled disks - which ones? pads - maybe red stuff as John from JMR informs me the green ones melt Caliper paint - all red of course If any cash left as much of the onderside (axle, anti-roll bar etc) to be blasted and powder coated. Then I need another grand to make the paint perfect Then abit more to get rid of the bloody Alarm and something that doesn't go off everytime the wind blows.... Then a bit more for 4x4 but that can all wait for a long time Twin turbo R32 engine when I'm 90 etc ooooh and maybe a CD player? - I still have the sony tape unit
  4. All I can say is dooooooooooooooooode sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet :D :D and the big chin spoiler - genious! I need to get another one as is smacking on everything and starting to look a little old And you won't have to clean your RS's so much over there.....
  5. Kev I've been thinking about the old Shrek and 268's, Thought that was the best combination? Think Guy is selling his but not 100% sure yet
  6. I've heard from a few people that service the corrado's at Colbornes VW in Guildford that Powerflow aren't allways that great and the quality is not as good as a Milltek or Magnex even with the best ones they've seen. The problem with Powerflow is any old bugger with a halfords socket set and a roof can apply for the Powerflow license. Which means if you have recommendations of a good one then fair enough but if you have found a local one with no reputation then there could be problems. This is just what I've heard, no dig at powerflow....
  7. yeah mine was £280 for the VR6 :)
  8. I have a Bell 330 for sale which won lots of awards, can be on the windscreen or passenger side, can be removed easily and won lots of awards - check avoidfines.co.uk PM me if interested It is boxed with two sets of accessories and picks up all frequencies even the buggers that hide behind the trees. The road angels rely on downloaded info from a database to get the coordinates and then you still need to pay for yearly subscription. This one has been used once and back in packaging. £150?
  9. The Milltek system I got from John at JMR is an excellent bit of kit! The whole system weighs about the same if not less than just the original rear silencer! When you floor it it makes a nice sort of M3-ish note but of course with the VR engine in the front sounds much better! And when you relax at about 3,500 + revs on the motorway maintaining speed you can't hear a thing, honestly quiter than the standard unit. If you feel like scaring a few people at the lights if you tap the throttle quickly up to 1,500 rpm you get quite a nice pop out the back and apparently if you get a decat it's possible to get some flames (so I've heard...) A system for every mood! On the looks front the tailpipe sticks out not quite as far as the standard unit but more so than the Magnex so maintains the original look better. The Magnex and Milltek are both roughly the same shape except you get Milltek written on the back which are used on many factory modded cars such as the M series, and even the Italian monsters!
  10. Might be worth just checking all the connections (HT leads especially) and drying everything off! If you've re-sealed the coilpack recently it shouldn't be a problem but if a year or so ago could have cracked?
  11. Not on any VW imo, RX's would look smart, have a look at Keskin's range they are awesome in 16" also The KT Klassik especially!
  12. The bmw 328's are slightly slower than a C VR6 so a 2.5 lump in the heavy E46 with some extra metal to turn the front wheels you are looking at 0-60 in around 8ish probably - but maybe a car designed for ski's on the roof and a little bit of sideways action down the green runs off Les Alpes.... I've owned a 318is E36 which I lost sideways into a crash barrier last year  Definitely think the C is more usabale in rainy Europe. As your in the US there are no corners! just get a second hand Corvette/Mustang/Dodge! I would! 8)
  13. I saw N11TRO going on ebay for 500 ish thought about it but by the time i decided it was gone
  14. Just got failed on "the rear four brake pipes from load valve to rear hoses and both rear brake pipes have heavy corrosion" The guy told me all the brake lines were going so I should do the whole lot! any idea what sort of price the parts are time required etc? a little urgent
  15. Oh my goodness I have one on order thanks very much! was going to buy 10 of them for the safe, but did a dealer seach and only one was available in the whole country! cheers very much for the part number. Got it from Silver Street Motors Limited in Taunton and called dealers in Llandudno? Huntington, Telford, Anglesey and Morecambe from. Biggest smile ever from a £12 piece of plastic..... okay I'll stop there
  16. thanks very much guys i will give the local vw a call tomorrow!
  17. anybody know the part number of the original red vr6 badge then I can get the stealers to do a dealership search, they only seem to be able to find the part numbers for the silver and black ones?
  18. Trimsport and GPC don't do them
  19. Dinkus - LOL, I think it might well be... :) Henny - Just checked Trimsport site and there are non on there but will give them a call also Dazzyvr6 - is it in "immaculate" condition?
  20. goodness that must have taken a while! if there is no more available to buy then will buy a black one and paint it the same as you have! But after you have bought the red paint, the black paint and a fine brush that must cost the same as two chrome badges no? £7.50 at trade price from Colbornes, red looks the best!
  21. does look immac. but need those all important clips, thanks for the info tho :)
  22. Anyone know where I can pick up an original brand new VR6 badge for the front grill in red? Colbornes say they only do silver and black ones?
