-
Hopefully getting mk4 brakes all round soonish, really need the rear ones soon and getting the rear axle bushes done soon at JMR
-
Not sure about the drop, will find out, there was a post going round saying standard was 360mm from center to arch lip - i'll get out with a tape measure but think it's around 40mm
-
Yeah I know clear sides and reds at the back! I'm waiting till someone makes some proper ones!!! might end up doing the red paint and laquer thing though. Not sure what are good tyres on 15's yet, don't think they do the Eagle F1's in 15

Okay winter is setting in, the RS's are sold (hassle and a half) and six tyres have gone to Bally. I've purchased some Solitudes from Dom to get refurbed shortly, bought new exterior plastics as the black painted ones were starting to look old, got my red VR6 badge (last one in the country at the time) and got copper brake pipes and a miltek system fitted at JMR. She is back on the speedlines and the handling is excellent!!

Cheers Guys, actually since I told him I'd give him a full refund he hasn't called back! Seemed like a really nice guy when he picked them up also which is more anoying, he turned up in a supercharged Golf mk2 VR6 and said he had a Corrado also

The worst set of BBS RS's in the World.....EVER!
biggerbigneil replied to PhatVR6's topic in General Car Chat
Just out of interest how much would you sell them for like that? I quite enjoyed doing the refurb on mine. I would buy new outers, use a wire drill piece on each bolt then laquer them, send the center's (includings bbs caps etc) off to spit n' polish in Kent and not bother about the rear section unless messed up, I rekon you could make them look nice again for around £200 -
we know what you drive and what you do!but how old are you??

I'm 22 and bought my VR this year's Easter Friday Had an E36 318is and a Golf mk3 1.8GL prior to that at 17 -
Yeah apparently so? I resealed them with a clear silicon sealer which was fine and he is telling me it has to be black? worked on mine when i had them and was clear when i took them apart for the first time? Really anoyed me today, his website is stormdevelopments.co.uk he seems to do vw stuff so can't be that hard for him to re-do anyway

Sold my RS's the other week on ebay in perfect condition, had been driving around on them fine. This ass that buys them now is complaining that his wheels go flat? well they didn't when I was driving on them so what has he done? He wants £200 to get them resealed? I told him I'd give him a refund as people are telling me I should have been able to get more than £840 for them anyway. Might have a shop around to get them professionally resealed then readvertise them so I can get some peace. Anyone know a good place in Cranleigh area? Guildford through to West Sussex?

Have a look at biggerbigben's members gallery, near the top on the first page 4x4 20vT or something similar has a pic of the underside of his car, it is a sycro underneath though, don't know if it's okay for what you need?

Cheapest place to buy the H&R springs (vr6 ones)
biggerbigneil replied to jedi-knight83's topic in Suppliers Forum
Would have thought Koni and Eiback would go best together as thats what they use on performance upgrades for BMW, Aston Martin etc. Apparently for road use it is better to have a shock and spring combo than coilovers because of wider springs absorbing more impact. Coilovers are for track day uses in the main (so I'm told) -
I'll have a 968, a 911 C2 and a Corrado VR6 instead please and get the train EDIT: oh and maybe an oak green MK2 Golf gti for parking at the station
-
0-60 in 4seconds..... yeah right
-
Looks awesome, Keskin Klassik rims also, I want! not on mine though.......oh god no
-
Doooode! like the blonde!
-
As it is, knowing it's random pieces chucked together (which the corrado is anyway) it's pretty horrid! But if Seat actually made a coupe that looked like that and was 4x4 and 280hp or something believable loads of people would buy it I'm sure! looks better than most cars you can buy today :?
-
Yeah I tried having all that done with my old mk3 golf, the only safe way is to have it rolled then the panel resprayed. Most body shops should be able to do that but sorry can't recommend any in London. Springfields in Guildford are good though, crash repair center for VW in Sly Field Industrial estate

Points of view please guys..........
biggerbigneil replied to godskitchen's topic in General Car Chat
Well I'm back on the 15's but am thinking about 16's so I can atleast get some good breaks. The roads my way are proper country blasting roads and were horrid on the 17's so they got sold! The shock you had on the motorway is probably more from naff tyres though? 17's for looks, 15's for handling/excelleration and 16's for the compromise
