  1. Thanks Wayne :thumbleft:
  2. Thanks Chuggs :thumbleft: To be honest the market price for Corrados is so wide, it's hard to put a price on it. But with a recent engine rebuild and all else good bar a few cosmetic issues, hopefully it will serve someone well for a long time to come. It's certainly the sort of car I'd happily buy back one day if it was looked after still. ;)
  3. 1993 Corrado VR6 For Sale Over 50 photos of this vehicle and a full description can be found here - http://www.yesterdayscars.co.uk/available-cars/vw-corrado-vr6/ Overview This is the private sale of my 1993 VW Corrado VR6. I purchased the car on 14th January 2015 and have completed approximately 4,500 trouble-free miles. This car is in excellent condition overall, having had a full engine rebuild by the previous owner and all of the usual Corrado weak points have been taken care of. The only reason this car is for sale is to make way for something with a little more space and the ability to tow a trailer. This Corrado will be sorely missed! History This Corrado was registered on 12th October 1993 and comes in the rare colour of Ice Grey Violet Metallic, which was only available in 1993. I am the sixth owner and the previous owner purchased the car on 23rd February 2008. The previous owner completed a full engine rebuild on the VR6 through 2008-2009 ? approximately 15,000 miles ago. As a result of the full rebuild, all of the usual Corrado issues have been taken care of, such as timing chains and guides, clutch and heater matrix. As of today, the car shows 145,800 miles on the clock. There is a lot of paperwork in the history file, including MOTs from 2001, tax discs from 2005 and a mass of receipts. The VW owner?s handbook is present along with a service book fully stamped up to 123,000 miles/November 2007. Therefore, with the receipts for the engine rebuild and up to date, the car has pretty much a full service history. The car has an MOT until 20th April 2016 with two advisories. The first was a worn tyre but all four are now new. The second was wear to one wishbone bush but no excessive play. The car is HPI clear. The Rest The bodywork is in overall good condition having just had some work done and a little paint. There's stone chips to the front as you'd expect and a small rust spot on the lower front wing, but the car is very solid and shines up well. The interior and running gear are all in good condition, with lots of parts replaced. The car benefits nearly new tyres, head unit wth AUX, USB, SD card slot and Bluetooth with handsfree calling. If the gold wheels are a little ?Marmite? for you, then the original, silver Speedlines are available, in excellent condition and can be negotiated in with the sale. There's not enough space here to post the full advert so please follow the link for over 50 photos of this vehicle and a full description - http://www.yesterdayscars.co.uk/available-cars/vw-corrado-vr6/ Any inspection is welcome and please contact us for further information. 4. Yeah it's a real shame. When I drove off to take the pics for the advert it put a real smile on my face - and a sad one when I drove it back! The Corrado has really got under my skin - what a great car!!! I'm sure I'll be behind the wheel of another before too long ;)
  5. Wayne you're a proper mechanic now I reckon ;) Maybe just 'servicing' the sunroof will help reduce/stop the leak? That silicon grease is good stuff - very sticky though!! If you put a lot on then be prepared for it squirting out everywhere! lol
  6. Well it's finished and ready for sale, just writing the advert up. It's looking all spangly now - I'm really going to miss this car!! :(
  7. I'm now in final preparations of getting the C ready for sale ( :( ) - done all the usual like wash, clay, mop, wax etc but I've also at last got around to fitting the new under bonnet foam kit. It took less than 10 minutes to get the foam off, but another 1.5 hours to get the glue off! lol Anyway, here's some before, during and after shots. Needless to say I'm very happy with the foam, it's excellent quality but with the backing being so sticky (which is great)you really have to get it placed right first time! There's just a couple of hours left to put in the car and then it will be ready for sale.
  8. Thanks for the info/offer Jim :thumbleft:
  9. One question, my has always had a small oil weep from somewhere near to the oil cooler - I suspect from this. Is there an off the shelf kit for renewing the seals on the cooler or do you have to just buy each seal separately? (assuming there's more than one?)
  10. Directly from Chris who makes them yes. I think he had a post up in classifieds ;)
  11. Thanks for the comments chaps! Yes it's a case of having to which always makes it tough. I'm sure I'll be behind the wheel of a C again, it's one car I only became acquainted with last year and can't believe I wasn't sooner - they're such nice cars, both to look at and drive! It will probably be up for sale towards the end of next week-ish. It will be a sad last drive in it, when I have it.
  12. Blimey, I thought the above would have got some sort of reaction! lol For those interested, I dropped the car off at the bodyshop today where it will have the sill cleaned up, stonechipped and painted, along with a couple of other areas. I drove it there thinking 'I'm going to miss this! :(' - but needs-must! Pics to follow on its return, which I hope is Monday ;)
  13. Hey all Well I hadn't expected to be doing this any time soon, but in part due to a change in circumstances, plus the need for a little more MPG and the ability to tow a trailer for my business, I'm going to be putting the C up for sale shortly. A diesel Beemer will be replacing it. There's a small amount of paint I need to get the bodyshop to sort, plus a couple of minor niggles then it will be ready for someone to take on. It's a shame but will make someone a cracking ride. I'm sure I'll be behind the wheel of a C before too long though :thumbleft:
  14. Well a little unexpected, but I'll soon be saying goodbye to the C :bonk: It's come about quickly, but I've been lured by a diesel BMW - with slightly better MPG (I hope!) and the prospect of being able to tow a trailer, which would be a real bonus for my business now to help move it forward. So it's been a (slightly!) sensible choice. So, I'll be getting the C as minty-fresh as I can and sort the few minor niggles it has before putting it up for sale :( One question, it's always had a small oil weep from somewhere near to the oil cooler - I suspect from this. Is there an off the shelf kit for renewing the seals on the cooler or do you have to just buy each seal separately? (assuming there's more than one?)
  15. Looks identical, probably is the same material. Chris who supplied the group buy is now selling single wets in classified section I think
  16. ...hope that makes sense? lol I'm assuming it will be identical to KR 16v in MK2 Golf. (I had this problem.) I can't find a picture of it, but in this link the pipe I'm referring about is hiding under part number 38 on the diagram - http://www.partsbase.org/vw/golf-go-eu-1992-1g-n-300-000-5350-air-flow-meter-fuel-metering-valve-intake-connection-air-filter-with-connecting-parts/
  17. Vac hose has probably come off. On the main inlet pipe from the metering head to the throttle body, there should be a pipe pushes in underneath it. It normally pulls out when you change the air filter. Check that - or all other vacuum pipes are properly home. (I'm assuming the engine is turning but not firing?) Bargain Corrado by the way!
  18. Top tip Tony! I saw your reply on my phone earlier, so sprayed a little silicone grease on it. I think it's certainly got rid of a squeak! :thumbleft:
  19. Supposedly stop radio interference and help a few other items along the way too. I think I've heard VW fitted at as a bit of a safety net for some reason - it's on MK1 Golf convertibles and MK2 Golfs too. I've never noticed a difference when they're broken as opposed to being fixed.
  20. Febi ones are normally spot on. I had the same issue with a MK1 Golf top mount recently. It looked like it had completely separated - there was no play, but it wasn't right so it got changed. It wasn't a Febi one that failed though.
  21. Looks tidy - I think we need a blue interior lighting pic though :thumbleft:
  22. What engine have you got? I've got a working ISV off a 2.0 16v 9a engine if you want it? If it was me, I'd keep it as VW intended ;)
  23. Wow that's a lot of cable! And hey, get you Wayne - you're now a grease monkey!! :thumbleft:
