nothing much here, i managed to drop a nut int to the crankcase via the oil filter housing breather. doh! shat myself when i couldnt find it. Ended up taking the sump off to have a butchers......Couldnt see it! gave the oil pick up a clean whilst i was there (wasnt really clogged to be honest) then i took the plastic moulding off that leads up to the oil filter housing as i took it off the flippin nut i dropped in fell out (thnk god!) few random pics ( looks really clean in there) also got myself a second hand qpeng down pipe off the bay so happy days.gunna use exhaust wrap on it cant wait to drop the lump in. Need to get a lambda probe, n75 valve (as i have no idea where ive put it) a few breathers and some new engine mounts

hmm not sure if i can offer any help on that. What i would do is check all the connections in the rubber boot between the door and the wing, i had a couple shorted wires there. Also on my passenger side i had no plastic cap over the check strap inside the door. the live wire for the window motor also shorted on that!. Found a spare window loom floating around so i spent the weekend swapping that over. found more dodgy wires where the wires pass under the passenger seat carpet. there was a load of glass under there (must of been from a previous break in) which had cut through some of the loom. Glad i swapped it all now.

hehe yea,i love doing stuff like this! just spent the last half hour testing each wire from end to end and everything is a ok :D roll on pay day when i can buy more bits!
-
doubt it will be slave or master cylinder. Its not brake fluid under there is it? get you head down there and have a whiff, if its kinds sweet smelling odds are its coolant and your matrix is leaking
-
been working on the loom, its nearly done, just need a throttle positon plug , a lambda plug and power interface connector to use the existing power connections under the scuttle panel. The wiring notes qpeng supply are very easy to understand! there are loads of different engine codes listed with the corresponding colours (mine matched up perfectly) id recommend it to anyone. Tommorow i will do continuity checks again just to ensure i have no shorts. some of the loom to start off with all split out from the insulation The loom at the ecu connector injectors, coil packs and most the engine sensors complete and wrapped connector end with power connections spit off (which will go to the plug under the scuttle)

thanks for the link, Prices seem pretty damn good! im stuck though, not sure what thickness i need would a 5.75 amp cable be up to the job ? or maybe the 8.75? wana get this right the first time

HAPPY DAYS lol got the qpeng ecu and connectors all that i need now is the down pipe and some other random bits n pieces

wow that looks mint! always liked rados in silver you can really see all the lines

swapped the coilies off my 16 v onto the g .Was on there or a week til i got fed up sowing down for speed bumps (loads around work) looked good tho, now back on fixed suspension (gmax 40mm) whilst trying to trace my window fuse blowing mystery i thought id do some random checks on the mirrors. lookey what i found! soldered them properly and heatshrinked them and wrapped in self amalgamating tape also took delivery of an intercooler for the 20vt and a mk3 gti throttle body Ordered the qpeng diy ecu kit yesterday so that should be with me this week sometime
-
mate im loving that! liking that colour too .only ever seen one corrado like that in the flesh.Looks like a nice drop over a nice set of wheels .Only thing i would do is colour code the top part of your eyebrow spoiler to tie it in with the rest of the car.
-
yea that was the one im going for, heard stories about the vt ones cracking. I know a couple of people who used this one with no problems

nice one! what bhp you running? Do you have any more videos? -
i went over my allowed bandwidth on photobucket so my old pics are not visible until the 9th lol, in the meantime i signed up with another image host finally got my 02j shift tower , gear selector and cables got an intercooler coming soon too. So all i need is some new engine mounts (solid front one) Qpe downpipe and qpe management.Getting there!

thanks for the kind words mate,i see your bay is almost done now - cant wait to see that painted as i cant ever recall seeing a corrado with a smoothed bay

isnt there a blank in the oil filter housing? you can unscrew that and use the sender from the old engine in there -
got these samcos off a club gti member who put a 1.8t in his mk3 golf. he decided he wanted black hoses so i got his old ones, need a bit of a clean but i think ive got plenty to be getting on with! and theres more to come lol Excuse my guiness slippers :D
-
ah sweet lol at least i can be driving, all beit with no windows or reverse lights.Im pretty sure it was the wires chaffing on the hinge, just wanted to know if there are any other problems corrados suffer from that are worth checking before a put another fuse in
-
sounds like a good idea, but the first time when this happened i changed the fuse and the windows worked fine without blowing the fuse. They seem to go up and down pretty quick too
-
yea, electrical fires arent nice (had one in my old mk1 cabbie) im not to fussed about not using the windows its just i dont have any reverse lights now and i know it wont pass an mot like that

about a month ago i drove to work and my windows wouldnt open for some stupid reason. I opened the door to get out and i tried them again and they went up.strange! checked fuse 14 and it was blown. Put a new fuse in and all was good until i went into reverse and it popped again. so i thought the reverse switch was to blame. swapped this out and checked the wiring but was still getting the same thing. Heard dodgy mirror switches can cause this to happen so i changed that - still the same! argggggggh left it for ages but it started to do my head in so i put another fuse in one morning. started the car and tried to wind the window down. it went down very slowly and i could smell burning (like a wire melting!) turned the car off and pulled the fuse (which hadnt blown?). Last weekend i had a look in the doors. Inside the passenger one it looks like some of the wiring had caught the door check strap and earthed out (There was no plastic cover over the check strap (taken one out of my 16v though) my speaker wire had melted partially. The brown red from the window had worn through and i think the thinner blue/black next to it from the window switch had worn through. Ive repaired those wires On the drivers door i couldnt find any shorted wires but i found the connector for the door central locking pump had been cut and rejoined using bullet connectors (dont know why) and it wasnt even connected to the pump, just dangling. I have also sorted that. I notice also that when i start the car about 5 seconds later you hear the windows move slightly or a split second (this is without the window fuse in) Dont know if its meant to do that (if anyone can see if theirs does that with the fuse out?) or do i still have a short present? would try another fuse but im a bit weary after the burning smell i got last time can anyone help? lol got my mot next month as well! Typical!

sound like its pinking, check your timing is not too far advanced as i had the exact same thing on mine.
