ive not heard of murray clamps, ive seen mikalor ones though but they are big bucks! hopefully these will do the job (better than jubilees lol)
-
i see! i think it will need recalibrating, i had a mk3 8v one to start with but ben @ qpeng said it wouldnt work unless the ecu was recalibrated. Are you selling the old one? i could do with one as my one is ugly lol
-
got these today, they are flanges for the exhaust system - one to go onto the down pipe and the other on the ,mid section then ive got a reducer pipe to mate it up to my exsisting exhaust started to weld the first flange to the down pipe (looks a bit scruffy as ive started to grind the welds smooth but it got dark so ill save that for the weekend) And its wrapped
-
that is looking sweet! how comes you have changed the throttle body? what was wrong with the old one? Will it need recalibrating on the ecu
-
update! last few parts are arriving this week, heres what i got so far some exhaust wrap and metal cable ties silicone reducers to match my intercooler pipe to my boost pipes new engine mount (febi) the old one is seriously mashed! nice shiny hose clamps - no jubilees here! self sealing hose take off kit so i can plumb the n75 valve into my silicone boost pipe And last but not least some bling - oil catch tank aiming to get the g60 engine out this weekend and then take it from there
-
looking good! i should be dropping my engine in over the next week or so - cant wait. by the way thanks for pm'ing me that part number, much appreciated

JMC is your man for illuminated switches dude
-
loking good! did you do the roof yourself? have you covered the sunvisors too?
-
intercooler is an ebay jobbie, think theres a pic somewhere in the topic somewhere. The outlets are smaller than my boost pipes so i need to get a silicone reducer for each side. The throttle is off a 20vt, You can remove the black cover on the side and bend the throttle stop if idle needs adjustment
-
right ive figured out my coolant hoses, shall try and hook up the most of them in the week, just starting to work out a rough route for the intercooler piping, damn i cant wait to get this in and running!
-
i think i had the pump too ( lol think i binned it ages ago - canny remember now)
-
oh i know what you mean now, where would it fit on the 20vt? come to think of it i cant even remember where it is on the g60
-
yea ill sort that properly one day, my next hurdle is working out where all the coolant hoses go as havent got a scooby doo.
-
cheers dude, what is this thermo switch you speak of? :D
-
nah just the two, tried to get the bloody allen screw out of the housing but it wouldnt budge and it eventually rounded!
-
lil updates, got the remaining connectors i needed for the loom. here you can see the lambda connector at the top and the digifant power connector at the bottom here is the throttle body connector at the top and the temp sensor connector for the gauge here is a bunch of other little bits i needed (all genuine of course ) thermostat sat in place o-ring and outlet bolted back on top o-ring and water flange bolted back up The throttle body fitted (ignore the blue hose haha - as the pipes at the top are unused i just stuck a bit of hose in there to make it look functional) an adaptor i got to allow the fitment of the two g60 oil pressure sensors finally the n75 valve its the "f" version ( i know there are j and h versions and they all have different characteristics. Picked this up for a fiver and its new so i cant complain)

hey mate u got a part number for the connector? need to get myself one!
-
try changing the x relief relay (cant remember which one it is) but this provides power to your wipers, blowers etc.I had the same thing happend on a mk1 golf i owned
-
not any help but i need to know this also! was just to make a topic myself......
-
you will probably find that the flanges are ok its the rubber o-rings that have perished. You may aswell change the flanges if they are cheap enough but make sure they come with o rings

im not a bodywork expert but... id rather have my dents pulled out rather than filled although saying that my dads old mk3 golf had a load of parking dents on one side, found an old skool bodywork guy who filled them. you couldnt tell there was a dent after he finished. The filler didnt sink or fall out either. As for larger dents ive seen people use a tool that welds a pin to the centre of the dent and then they used a slide hammer to pull it out - quite effective if you were to change colour i doubt you would see the green through the new paint unless they didnt use primer :) gets expensive though when you want a colour change hope this helps
-
cheers mate, its not very hard to do just time consuming. very satisfying when you look at it compared to what i started with.beats paying 200 odd quid for audioscape ones too

no engine updates at the moment just another little project im working on. take one door pocket (butchered to fit my 6.5 inch alpine components on top) i bought some grilles off the bay which are 8 inch diameter (all that was available) so i set about making some mdf rings to accomodate them they were glued and clamped together overnight.i then carefully chopped away at the door pocket to fit them in (glued them using sikkaflex and left that overnight to dry). the fun part, found an old tshirt and carefully spent time wrapping it around the pod to make a wrinkle free cover. I then covered that in a few coats of fibreglass resin and let that dry. I trimmed some of the plastic away inside and trimmed the material out of the inner section where the speaker sits Where i had cut the plastic oout of the inside i used fibreglass filler to fill any gaps and also to reinforce the outside gave the outside a skim of filler to smooth out any imperfections and then roughly sanded it Sprayed it with a dark colour as i can see the curves better that way and what will need adjusting (looks rough because i used really coarse sandpaper to get the shape right) more sanding and have also rounded of the edge that goes around the speaker as i thought it was a bit pants with a sharp line (you can also see the grille sat in place) thats how far ive got at the moment. Have ordered some contact adhesive and some really stretchy vinyl to cover it with so stay tuned.....
