  1. thanks for the quick reply, i remember seeing the strip going around the old matrix.however i still cant picture where the square bit goes as i never had that with the last one
  2. it came with some extras in the box and i have no idea what they are for The matrix A Valeo item not the poopty crap on ebay Heres the other items that were in the box What the hell is the square foamy bit used for in the third pic and what is the little white thing in the last pics? it has a big hole one end and a very small hole at the other end. Another thing is what can i use to clean the oily crap off it? I bought a cheap matrix from gsf last time and the oily stuff on it stinks once the car warms up, tried to clean it off but that didnt work
  3. I think seeing as you have so many wheels you should donate a set to me! Not like you would miss them :D
  4. yea i cant wait til its done. Im 25 today wooooohoooo. Totally random but heres a pic of the rado in the cold monday mornin
  5. sounds like sombody has had your clocks apart at one point. If you strip them apart you can take the needle off and put it back on in a higher position. On the g60s i know there is a way of getting the revs to read on digital clock so you may be able to do the same on your and adjust it accordingly
  6. got two more panels sewed up onto the seat, this is the state of play at the moment. Its really hard using a normal sewing machine but if your patient it will be ok
  7. i have been really lazy over the xmas period, my mum is now doing the seats for me as she is pretty damn good at sewing i wasnt happy about the way the leather creases up but its because its curved and it shouldnt be as bad once its all pulled back onto the seat mould. heres a few random shots of the car and one with my cousins mk4
  8. what size pulley you running on the new engine?looks really small
  9. i dont know much about the strengths of a wheel but that should be ok shouldnt it? i mean ive seen standard peugeots and citroens with only 3 studs on their wheels and they seem ok?
  10. usually there is a rest that the needle sits on. when you fit the ddi gauges you have to take it off as there is no hole in the new ones
  11. ahh man thats real nice, im starting to like vrs more and more now
  12. u sure u wanna split it? theres an engine in the parts section for 450? would be a shame to see another corrado being broken down
  13. nice job, always fancied a set of bbs but i cannot be arsed to clean all those spokes. how much were the dishes if you dont mind me asking? how do you protect them from corroding?

    MPG adverage thingy

check the vacuum feed on the back of the clocks first, if its perished or cut it can mess up the reading. Do a search on here you will find some answers
  15. now then now then, ive made a start on the interior. took a part of the rear seat out of my old valver and proceeded to unclip the material off it.heres some shots of it off the seat i then unpicked each section and made template patterns of them (ignore the writing its for my reference) heres a pic of all the pieces with the templates underneath Ive now transfered and cut all the pieces out of the new material and im gunna attempt to sew them later (wish me luck) i can see why retrims cost so much! its so fiddly picking pieces apart
  16. thanks for the kid words mate.hows yours coming along? Have you got it back yet? bet you cat wait
  17. to be honest i havent driven it for the last week or so. My water pump grenaded! so that had to be replaced.... as i took it out bits of the impellor were dropping out. Managed to flush it out the engine which took ages!!! Did the cambelt and tensioner whilst i was there, and tightened up the sump which appeared to be hand tight. ive literally ust finished bolting everything back up and im just waiting for the battery to charge before i can drive it. My leatherette material has also turned up so im gunna make a start on recovering the seats in the next hour or so, cant wait to get stuck into that!
  18. yea, prefer your style of needle but id have to buy a late set of gauges to have them
  19. ah ok i got ya, i used a uv tube, heres the result i got
  20. looks good! why didnt the uv lights work for you? they work just fine for me? or was you after a different look
  21. true but that wont stop me, just gives me the chance to be more anal and clean up more bits that i cudnt be bothered to do before haha
  22. nah should have it done on sunday provided im not too hungover from my works xmas party! Ahhhh the joys off corrado ownership
  23. hey mate im in south london but i pass through hayes from time to time. your mk1 looks ace man!
  24. set off to work around 6.45am got about 10 mins into my drive and heard a water pump squeel for like a second or so. I actually thought it was the car behind... Any way i carried on and approached a turn onto a small street. After i had turned onto it the squeel came back folllowed by the battery light on the dash coming on. I pulled straight over and popped the bonnet up. To my suprise i see my drive belt not on the alternator. Got a lift into work Thinking the belt had snapped and got tangled up. Bought a new one to replace it. I went back to the car after work to replace the belt armed with tools etc. struggled to get the power steering pump to budge and gave up in the end. I cut the belt down at the bottom and pulled it up. Yet again to my suprise the belt hadnt snapped...... hmm odd so i went back under the car. Something in my head said check the water pump pulley (dont ask me why!) had a little tug and the whole thing was rocking about! thing is it wasnt the pulley thats loose its the actual shaft on the pump thats buggered! it was soaking wet too. Looking back now , ever since i bought the car there was a strange rattle at like 2k revs and i put this down to the supercharger - had that rebuilt and the noise was still there. Im pretty sure this noise was the water pump on its way out! Had my mate tow me home in the work van ( not fun when you cant see ahead of you) i suppose the only good thing is that i dont need to replace my radiator which i thought was leaking but i do need to replace the sodding water pump - arse!
