headlights are known to be crap on corrado's get your self an uprated loom (ebay or off here somewhere) or make your own. makes a big diference!
-
that is definatly not off a corrado! looks like an audi 80 light or maybe even a mk2 jetta light

update, after my engine gave me non stop hassle i decided not to replace it with the same thing i bought a 1.9 16v turbo technics engine for it ( thanx azz turbo ) heres a few pics also came with an aquamist water injection kit pics of when i got it home! (what have i done lol) now as you haver seen my car is red, i dont like black on engines so i decided to repaint it so it ties in with the car a bit more some good old paint stripper got rid of the paint, and gunk to get rid of the grease. pic of the cams, which are in pretty good nick (had to take these off to do the cam cover) turbo on its manifold (crap pic i know) cam cover before cam cover now inlet manifold painted up(im going to sand then polish the metal around the wording) inlet manifold nicely plished inside block all painted up almost finished now just need to get a new clutch and sort some of the wiring out then its going in hopefully before the end of this month i canny wait!

i wouldnt have thought it would need to be set up, i remember my dads mk3 golf failed its mot on emissions due to the lambda, just swapped it for a new one and it ran perfect after

glad to be of help! i havent got a clue about the electric windows as i have a budget corrado with keep fit windows lol. as for the smoke on start up, may be the valve stem seals not 100 percent sure. had the same thing happen on my 1.3 golf and after changing the stem seals the problem was gone. you have to take the head off to do that though. as for it being loud it could actualy be the tappets. you can buy new ones and i think you can also clean up the old ones. if you do end up doing the stems seals you may aswell do the tappets at the same time.

as for the fan running on , check around the airbox for a brown wire(may have black heat shrink tubing around it. If iyou have one and its touching the body, when you turn your car off the fan wont stop.had exactly the same thing happen to mine.just taped it up and put it out the way. its supposed to go to a temp sender on some models but mine doesnt have it there where the wire comes from( seen leading off the bottom right corner) heres the bastid wire!

air /fuel gauge? how do you connect one without a lambda pro
waynos replied to waynos's topic in Engine Bay
isnt it just a nut that they screw into on the exhaust? another silly question, do i have to use a vw lambda probe or just any that has the right amount of wires. also if i do get one how will i know what wire coes what? as dont think they would come with wiring diagrams -
air /fuel gauge? how do you connect one without a lambda pro
waynos replied to waynos's topic in Engine Bay
i just want it to be able to run the gauge so i think narrow band should do? is it a simple case of getting one and connecting a wire to earth one to ignition and one to the gauge? -
im am buying a turbo engine for my car soon and i want to keep an eye on the fuelling so was going to install an air fuel ratio guage. however my car doesnt have a lambda probe (corrado 1.8 16v) would i need to get one of these for it to work? and how would i wire it up as ive heard u can get them with 1 , 2 ,3 or 4 wires
-
did u do that with a heat gun? i know this works a treat when u want to make faded bumpers look black again
-
i want to modernise the inside of my car, all you g60 and vr6 boys get your ddi dials etc but what about us valver boys? cant seem to find anything anywhere. im after backlit guages not the ones like standard. id be even tempted to make my own if anyone had any links to some diy websites

maybe try a new relay for the hazard/flashers (or check its pushed in properly!) had a similar problem on my mk1 ages ago and that was to blame
-
cheers for the reply, my statrer motor wire is fine, made up a new one ages ago due to my battery drain problems. ill check my earth a bit later when ive calmed down. dont think im losing voltage though as my volt gauge is allways around the 13.5 - 14 v mark
-
im really losing my patience with it now so far ive ruled out coil- swapped for another one no change ignition module swapped with my dads mk1 gti one no change plugs swapped for a nother set i had no change leads , rotor , dizzy cap brand new no change new in tank pump no change new fuel pump relay no change fuel filter was done last year also
-
not fixed after all.on thursday morning it happened again on the way to work and on the way back.i changed the fuel pump relay on the same day but no difference. this morning i thought id change the lift pump in the tank. then i went for a spin. 5 mins later it was back but felt worse this time. wouldnt rev past 2500k. turned the ignition of n back on and it was fine to the end of the road then it happened again! had to keep turning the ignition off and on to get back home. some one please help as thsi really starting to bug me. feel like jus selling it n getting a pushbike or something
-
had exactly the same problem! i had loads little faults though.my rear light had a hairline crack in it....this lead to water sitting inside of the light all over the wires etc, dunno if that what caused the drain. i also changed the ignition switch and it has been fine ever since! check your starter motor wires. oh and your alternator, leave the car overnight and feel it in the morning, if its hot theres your problem! hope this helps

was the rotor arm after all, thanx guys . was a bitch to get off, ended up using a dremel to get it off! the metal on rotor looked seriously shitty!
