  1. Ok so neither are corrados but these are 2 of my favourite pics 8)
  2. Yeah I think the Corrado wheels suit the Mk2 very well. I didn't expect them to look as good on mine at all before I put them on.
  3. Did you sell those after Mark? What have you on the golf at the moment?
  4. Got a reply from BBS today. Have to send them on the part numbers on my wheels and they'll tell me what it is. So we'll soon know for sure
  5. That's what I think
  6. I've just emailed BBS  I still think they are RMs. They definitely aren't RAs or RZs. RAs were the mk2 golf 16v wheel with exposed wheel nuts and RZs were the early Mk3 Golf VR6 wheel AFAIK.....
  7. I paid Eur400 (about £275) for mine with 4 nearly new Yokohama A539s One of the wheels was brand new and the others were in very good nick. I only got 3 centre caps though....
  8. I know the RMs are the two piece rims as fitted to the golf G60 edition one. But I thought that the corrado G60 wheel was an RM as well as they are essentially the same style just a single piece version of the split rim RM. I'm probably wrong though.
  9. As mentioned above the RA's are the standard Mk2 Golf 16V wheel. These are no good for a G60 corrado as even though they are 15s they won't clear the G60 front brakes (they also look crap on corrados IMO I've seen them on a few 16Vs) As far as I know the standard G60 wheel shown above and as fitted to my Golf are actually BBS RMs.
  10. Very nice. It's quite rare and refreshing to see an actual engine as opposed to a piece of sculpted plastic when you pop the bonnet on a new car. 8)
  11. Looks more like a 126 to me. Could be some kind of Russian version built under licence or something.

    VR6 steering wheel

I think it will. I know the older corrado wheels fit the facelifted mk2 so as long as vw didn't change between the G60 and VR6 then there shouldn't be a problem.

    What Tyres?

What do you use now instead of the P6000s? I've got yokohamas on my golf and they are pretty soft too. Great grip in the dry with them though.

    What Tyres?

A lot depends on what you want from a tyre. The F1 GSD3s are supposed to give the best dry and wet weather grip compromise, but don't buy them if you are looking for a hard wearing tyre! They are quite a soft compound and will wear out much quicker than your P6000s.
  15. A good quality 15/40 should be fine for the 1.8 16V and the engine shouldn't use as much of it either. It's what I used in any vw's I've ever had and I've never had problems.
  16. No that can't happen they just tighten up like an ordinary bolt.
  17. Check where the wiring goes from the door into the car (near the door hinges) It could be that the wires have become frayed or broken from all the opening and closing of the doors.
  18. They don't have to be loctited. I don't think that the torque settings are critical with them. If you are worried about leaks then put some sort of silicone type sealer on the threads. Just tighten them up 'normally' bearing in mind that you might want to open them from time to time to check oil levels/change oil etc....
  19. The pumps always make some noise. I thought mine was knackered so I bought a new one and when I fitted it there was no difference in noise levels at all. So as coolrado said, try and have a listen to someone elses pump before changing your own.

    rmn's G60

Nice one Richard. Can't wait to see these brakes.
  21. Or buy one of those dehumidifier bubble things
  22. Yeah I don't use any harsh detergents on mine. Just a cloth and lots of patience
  23. I have a set on my golf and they are great quality wheels. For example I hit a big stone on the road on Saturday and made sh1t of my lh front tyre, (nearly new yokohama :x ) but the rim was perfect where an aftermarket wheel would almost certainly have been scrap. Although they are a bitch to clean, I'm thinking of changing mine for G60 steels for the winter as I am sick of cleaning them
  24. @potatonet, Cool avatar. I've got one of those t shirts 8)
  25. The earth strap was the first thing that came into my mind when I read the title of the thread (after the cross dressing joke  ) But if it was the earth strap the engine wouldn't be turning over at all.
