this recently happened on the missus's lupo, the brake lights were sticking on,as well as the actual brakes! lifting the pedal with your foot solved it... it ended up being the brake light switch that was sticking. neil.
-
yeah, its looking like the ignition timing is well out... the rotor (thingamagig :D ) should point to the little notch you can see at 12 o clock. loosen the 13mm bolt holding the dizzy in the block and twist it round to match. it will need setting with a timing light afterwards to get it bang on really. neil. edit:2 door beat me to it!
-
yay's 1-1 nay's  edit, make that 2-1 to the nays! with the yellow fogs again or not...? may just try the headlights first.
-
Edit:ahh, see ive already used the pics in the other link! you want the two dots on the cam pully lining up with a little metal notch in the backplate (behind the cam pully) the dots should be either side of the notch on the backplate.

ok,who dosn't like the hard look of this mk2? 8) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/a777ovl/random%20vw/IMG_7946.jpg I think im gonna try the yellow headlight thing on the corrado, what ya reckon? i had yellow fogs once over, maybe do those again as well? currently looks like this:
-
aye,bit expensive  the granville amberlight stuff is good for the fogs guys, unbelievably easy to use and gives a real smooth/flat finish! 8)
-
love the styling on this rado 8) been thinking about yellow fogs again me self, along with the yellow bits in the headlights... but i might be brave and colour the whole lens? ps:the headlights and fogs can actually be bought brand new with the yellow bits! sure ive seen a link somwhere...
-
cool,ive just had a silly idea...maybe :!:
-
interesting  have you glued the flappy bits shut m8? nice wheel too  neil.
-
i replaced the green filter with some red ribbon (mum came in handy again!) ive just done it to get an idea on what i need to do,as ill be changing all the switch colours to red...and also fitting an oil pressure gauge/boost gauge to match :) neil.
-
cheers m8 :) was supposed to just paint the dial needles red earlier, got carried away.will attempt the lcd screens another time...
-
dave, you mean the autogauge one? yeah i like how they are totally black unless the ignition is on 8) any pics of yours? and can i see a blue ring around the dial? :?
-
17 psi? seriously? i had the charger full blended not too long ago, running stage 5 sns chip and 68 pully,i only see 14psi according to the mfa? :( had a look on ebay, but most are a bit chavvy! cheers m8.
-
yeah,i dont mind the first one either :) what scales do people normally go for? i will be seeing 14-15 psi on which ever gauge i go for... just unsure on price or where to purchase the autometer ones? anyone know an autometer dealer in the uk?
-
ive had a search, but i never get on with it for some reason  thought we could see everybodys boost gauges in one thread. im after one but i must be too picky as i cant find one that i really like... :? apart from the vdo one which reads up to 1.5 bar but i cant find any for sale... dont mind the autometer ones but how much are they? or maybe this one...
-
sorry to see that m8. shame that things like this will never stop occuring...
-
iirc gsf do the reflectors @ 20ish quid each i think? cant just remember m8...

-
ahh,cool 8)
-
nice,i like it 8) did you use the granville stuff greeny? been thinking of doing exactly the same recently! as im thinking of painting the fogs yellow again, maybe an idea for yours too? 8) mine when i had yellow fogs
-
well my members motors thread dosnt get much lookin at so... over the past few days ive swapped the whole interior from grey to black, except the carpet as i havent sorted one yet. neil.
-
my mums old g plater had no sunroof, and electric everything else. was sold to a chap on here, would have liked it me self really, was a minter 8)
-
got my vr6 front seats in that i used to have in the mk1, :( theyre a little tired/dirty looking but not bad after being stored for a few years :) sorted the under dash shelves too. so now i just need: 1/black speaker grills-possibly sorted some. 2/good black carpet-possibly sorted. 3/my custom parcel shelf still needs recovering...i did it in acoustic cloth last time (grey) what ya reckon to alacantara this time? (black) look ok ya think?
-
yeah,i cant really afford it at the minute though...and im not too scared of attempting it in the (hopefully) near future now :) neil.

how do m8,welcome to ye old forum :D The 1.8/2.0 produce the same power, and the 2.0 has slightly more torque. if you were after one that you were gonna keep for a little bit then move on id go for the 2.0,they are later cars and benefit from later bumpers/bonnets/grills/all front lights...although there are people who prefer the early look. if you want one to gain experience modding/messing with then id go with the 1.8,and throw the 2.0 lump in it minus the cat  :) can be good for around 170 brake at the flywheel with a few tweeks. neil.
