  1. will do m8 :) i thought from what ive read that you were the g60meister? i realise the other guys know theyre stuff, hell,if you come over,it may end up being a little meet if i ring all of you up  sorry if i come across like an idiot guys,my heads just all over at the miute... neil. edit:what next? the roof in the new house is leaking in! the new ovens still fecked! the cars fecked! g-friend left and today had to go doctors with complications(carrying first child),and my sister and her boyfriend split after just having first baby. life is just, well, fecked.
  2. thankyou god, henny has emerged :notworthy:  henny, the vac pipe was a new piece i had sitting around, originally for replacing bits on the mk1.its diameter is 3.5mm? as far as collapsing,im not sure, its the same stuff to look at? :? really appreciate the help, the corrado is the only thing keeping me sane even though its driving me mad :cuckoo: ill get it built back up as soon as i have all the bits, maybe tommorow/monday. neil.

    Wheel Whore

nice audi rims 8) they going on yours m8? neil.
  4. im just watching the tickover vid again, what the hell is it? :? and looking at the inlets,im just wondering weather it looks like burnt fuel has been coming back through them or not? shouldnt they be a little cleaner than they are? really racking my brains here :?
  5. not something im gonna be doing, too much other stuff goin on at the mo...im tryna convert you lot  the mk1 cost me £70 to have set up,just the once and it never gave me a single problem. that was running the original kr ecu too! as for fuel economy,it did an average of maybe 120-150 miles to £20 quids worth depending on the right foot, and it was faster than the g60 which is a heavier car i know  vid of it ticking over, bang on a grand 8) *note,no filters,as i ripped the engine out just after this* :(
  6. aye, feckinell my heads just gone i swear
  7. you know it makes sense m8 8) few days ago,a m8 took me out in his 240ish bhp mk2 escort running twin 48's. we always go up on a disused industrial estate, there really is no better feeling, really close gearing and barking mad. the noise, everything. none of this turbo business :pukeright: click bilder/video's for some carb/t-body action notice the escort cossie in there? didnt it sound well?
  8. maybe try unplugging the cold start valve (basically another injector for cold starts) left may show something up? neil.
  9. mmmm, not something id do,not running filters! suppose the c is considered more of an easy cruiser than the golfs? (as welll as having a bit of 'go') so carbs arent the best choice for a lot of people for a daily driver? theres a lot of crap spoken about them though, like keep needing them setting up... thats a load of crap, unless the carbs are tired or have worn spindles etc. and the tickover in the mk1 used to be bang on 1k at all times hot or cold, ran really well. no one on here running em then? they actually make life so much easier i think  neil.
  10. ok,thanks again guys. ill get the head back on and see what happens. and of course, ill stay away from the dremmel (not thinking straight!) i just get annoyed at unknown problems like this,i hate not knowing enough. neil.
  11. anyone on here running one? :? dont think ive seen any? i keep having dangerous thoughts about 1.816v c's converted to 2.0 16v on carbs  neil.
  12. aye,not plugged in myself lately m8,know what ya mean...
  13. does he mean a 1993 9a engined c? i cant remember if this pic is for the 9a or abf, maybe you can tell from the pic? neil.
  14. alright keith m8 :) havent tried another ecu,if it was the map sensor,is it new/second hand ecu time? or can you replace the map sensor? if the valve re seat dosnt sort the problem, should i look into this next? thank, neil.
  15. ooooh nice base for a 2.0 16v that m8 8) i reckon you may have an old dry leaf stuck in your central heater vents?  and to test if the temp gauge sender is goosed... take the car for a drive,or let it tickover a good while to get upto temp. on the right hand side of the cylinder head, there are 3 small (spade type) sensors. take note of which sensor has what colour wire. then swap them about and check the gauge for life. theyre actually all the same part numbers. one feeds the temp gauge,1 feeds (forgot) and 1 feeds the ecu,if a sensor is dead, and you have the ecu wire on it then you will lose your tickover. so thats why i say, just take note of which goes where  neil.
  16. ahh i see. whats the map sensor? something leccy in the ecu that senses/reads the map? :? so it has all the symptoms? ps:should i attack the head with the dremmel?
  17. darren? what were you going to say? or suggest? pics of the head... where can i get new manifold studs and the copper washers for the oil pressure senders etc? also, any one got the torque setting for the dx crank bolt? neil.
  18. idled like in the little vid clip darren, but cleared up after ticking over for a while. but when revved, the revs were hanging around and popping/farting. then driving it,it had no power after like half throttle, full throttle just made it die. neil. edit: vid of tickover.....
  19. nope,i didnt try that. what ya thinking m8? i replaced the pipe with new not long ago,few weeks maybe. and its exactly 1 meter long. neil.
  20. stood at front of the car: ecu hose to the top nipple on the t-body. please tell me thats right
  21. Riley

    Lost 20 BHP!

    aye,lots of variation anyway. neil.
  22. as far as i know m8,it did pop and fart a few times but never this bad,and it didnt have the power loss. disconnecting the charger pipe to t-body made no difference. neil.
