  7. sounds good to me ian,nice one 8) i was gonna,in fact i tried to have a go at a civic type r today. i looked like an a$$ :!: foot to the floor in 2nd and it just sorta went, wer,ner,neeer,neer,ner.can only describe it as pulling then not,pulling then not again and again. and its farted a few times today too,backfiring when i apply throttle,seems like the problem is creeping back!
  8. ahh blackpool,i was over there the night before last too! remember you saying in another post now! as for the mk1,erm... :oops: its an absolute bare shell,had to take it off the road due to people damaging it,replaced it with a mint early mk2 gti,with the mk1 side stripes and everything which then got set on fire outside the house :cry: intend to turn the mk1 into a barely road legal track car,but the projects come to a stop due to money/time/space. click my sig for the full story from day 1! good read and plenty pics! neil. :)
  9. henny,i appreciate that m8,thanks,pm coming your way. 8) i think i may as well try another dizzy to rule out the hall sender like you say,im not sure how old the dizzy is but i know that it took some serious work to free it off! it was well and truly seized into the block,hall sender connector seems alright,its not loose or anything but i guess you cant tell how good it is inside? neil.
  10. sounds about right,it did have a blue anodised pully and superchip fitted by jabba,looks like it is one of there tensioner mods then? so no need for a shorter belt,but im guessing its not ideal how it is now?
  11. yep,pretty new leads m8,cheers :) ahh,not standard,i dont know much about this bit gav,will it be a modified part to increase tension? can just see it in attatched pic :) ps:tommorow im gonna try swapping the t-body over,ill stick the new gaskets on too. also where exactly do i measure the pully,is there such thing as 70mm and 68mm? :? neil.
  12. cheers guys,appreciate it. 8) i suppose ive brought it far enough now and not really much else i could do without going over the top. may just go for a rim change etc some time,was supposed to be going for borbet a's but cant afford to now. cubed?,where abouts in lancs are ya m8? do ya mean the mk1?   13. aye,im just thinking a new one would be a good idea for a few quid? as for the problem,if the ecu is slightly damaged,when i get the new chip off steve could it become damaged also? :? in fact tommorow im gonna recheck the c.o on the gas aniliser. im starting to mess again arent i :lol:
  14. im guessing the shorter belts are a straight fit? i may as well have it off ya m8,few quid inc postage? can i paypal you the money? where do i measure the pully? where the belt runs like in the grooves or not? neil.
  15. gibber, no worries m8,i apologise too. im just easily stressed at the mo with a few probs im having. i stuck a few washers in the tensioner earlier,still hesitant intermittently though.and i dont really know how tight the belt should be? how tight is tight enough? i can squeeze it together and the tensioner raises a bit so i wouldnt say its mega tight. if i need a shorter belt,how much you after gibber? cheers guys,neil.
  16. i do have a non standard tensioner i think? it has a blue anodised bit on the top? ill try a spacer in it and see how it goes,cheers people 8)
  17. cheers m8 8) i wouldnt bother blingin it,you get sore fingers as it is :lol: good luck with it,takes a bit of time! i kept using a marker pen around the bits id shaved to compare either side if you know what i mean...
  18. good point m8... maybe thats the cause of the hessitancy,in fact when i compared the new 68mm pully to the old 70mm one they looked the same to me anyway :? wheres the correct place to measure them? didnt get a shorter belt,later today i might try a spacer in the top of the tensioner and see if it cures part of the problem,and then maybe it will show if i need longer belt or not? cheers
  19. i reckon the rado is at a finished stage now,had more plans but im gonna leave it i think. :) its been a hard enough 6 months just looking after it tbh,but ive enjoyed sprucin it up :) its still not running 100% but ill sort it at some stage. finished the rear shelf: stuck the original straps in,made it so it lifts and fitted the amp,then covered in acoustic cloth. and one more exterior shot.
  20. havent driven it much tbh darren, when i have,it pulls well enough foot to the floor but it dosnt feel 100% all the time,sometimes hessitant at diffarent rev ranges and it bogs down now and again. this morning it just wouldnt go anywhere in 1st/2nd,i stopped,revved it and then it went :? im wondering if the new ecu is damaged from the problem or the current chip(superchip) has become damaged through an ecu problem? ive sort of accepted it for how it is at the mo (had enough messing) but i reckon i could do with someone like yourself to check it out/set it up maybe? ps:steve is sending me a new chip which hes gonna test first,so thanks to him. and to everyone else who tried/did :wink: :oops: :lol: help. neil.

  22. i should think so really aye,im gonna be ringing them tommorow. :) have you tried a different ecu m8? its weird :? i still cant work it out. today i minted the lamda wiring which went very well,but of course something had to go wrong-when tidying the injector wiring,i removed all injectors to find that one had half of the yellow cap thing on the end missing :!: i just knew it would probably be sat in the engine,and thought feck it,leave it. found some spare none g60 injectors and swapped the cap thing over,but the hole in the end was slightly diffarent so i drilled it bigger and just stuck it in :lol: first of all i turned the engine over with the plugs removed,thinking the half of the cap might come out but it didnt. with the original ecu and psd chip,it ran like crap. swapped to the new ecu with superchip and it misfired like hell! kept it running and the cap thing must have eventually burnt away or sommet.? took it for a drive,can you say wheel spin in 3rd gear? feck running the charger in. still dosnt feel right though,part throttle is just crap. put it back in the unit and left it,it dosnt really amuse me tbh.

  24. 15.68, as in my sig. :) I was primarily going to race against my mate in his 50 shot nitrous equipped Scirocco. I lost by 0.2 secs but then his engine kind of wouldn't idle and belched out black smoke on the drive back so I wasn't too fussed about losing! :lol:! bet your mate was happy for ya? :lol: 15.68 :) is that good going for a g60? i wouldnt know yet?
