  1. Lamin-X.co.uk 8) Im possibly going to do the headlights/fogs/indicators on the red valver today...They are all in really good condition so i want to keep them that way. Clear headlight protection, and GunSmoke fogs/indicators i think... Neil.
  2. Managed to get it down the drive, sideways...and gave it its last wash for a while... Then polished it, waxed it and covered it :(
  3. Aye, i painted the spoiler and around the passenger door handle. Im using the valver every day now...the G60 is off the road for a while. Neil.
  4. My red valver project is pretty much finished now. From this: To this:
  5. Few more pics, with another Volksdevil sticker...one more to go on the back panel yet then i think i better stop! Neil.
  6. Yeah, thats how they come now mate.Very nice finish on them 8) Will have a think on the camber shims...more than likely sell them, but im just tight for time at the mo. Neil. :)
  7. The G60 is now off the road, joined by the valver which ive just driven home. Slight wobble on the steering at all speeds so need to look at that, but drove home fine.
  8. Well, last few pics now as its officially off the road :( Here is the old g-werks/pitstop rsr...There's no oil in there at all, its just the crappy charger lube which i don't bother with any more, crap idea. And off the road...joined by the valver.

    3 month detail!

Fact: As soon as its washed it will be scratched again. Idiots.
  10. Replaced the charger timing belt, and found that i had a missing bolt from the charger bracket :? New shiny allen bolt refitted with a spot of thread lock as always. Neil.
  11. Aye, i know exactly what you are saying there mate...Pricey stuff eh. I wouldn't recommend the isv reroute, its just a bad idea imo. With your spec which sounds cracking by the way, and if you are happy with your flow through the whole inlet/outlet system, i guess its a question of...how much boost are you making? If its still hitting 0.8bar and above then the map sensor is worth changing before mapping. But if it is all flowing well, then you may be seeing a lower boost reading which won't bleed off anyway... I believe only some rallye's had the 250kpa, and also some passat b3. Colder plugs would be good, g40 ones...whichever they are. Neil.
  12. They are both different... The isv will bleed off at around 0.8bar assuming standard set up, isv reroutes normally put the boost back in after the c/o pot so its not being read. If the induction strokes do manage to pull in more boost than standard, it will be unmetered and therefore not being fuelled for. And its also pointless in a way as it will keep recuirculating under constant bleed anyway. It may struggle to bleed off a lot of boost, and this is where the induction strokes may pull more in, but nt fuelled for. With a 250kpa map sensor, it will at least allow you to meter/fuel for the extra boost you are making whether its via smaller pully, ported charger etc. It will give you more room for mapping a chip, and obviously a littler more power, but you will hit a restriction of flow at some stage that makes having more boost pointless. Its definately worth while but id say, maximise flow first through porting/polishing/head/cam, then go 250kpa to allow more precise fueling/mapping of a chip. Thats how i understand it anyway. :) Neil.
  13. Very true about the map sensor. Although i wouldn't say the g40 plugs are essential...they are used as an 'upgrade' as they run colder. The map sensor thing is a bit silly really...Its fine to be able to read and then map for more boost. But ideally its better to make use/get rid of the boost thats already there by means of better flow which = more power. I suppose expense comes into it though, both ways would yield power, (map for more boost vs use more boost) but both will cost differently, and hit their limits at different stages. Neil.
  14. Iirc, the inlet ports are a different shape, there are some different castings...and the valves obviously aren't sodium filled like in the g60 head. Im sure there is something else as well, can't just remember. Neil.
  15. Aide, Place the bra over the cleaned body :norty: Pull the side straps down each side/edge of the bonnet, and hook into the strengthening holes then pull tight. Then tighten the main strap across the underneath. Be sure to chop/tuck away any excess strappage, don't want to get it caught in yer knickers. :D Neil.
  16. Oh man, i hope this dosn't turn into a thread similar to mine :( Few things to try if you haven't already: 1/ Unplug the lambda and note the changes. 2/ Loosen the full throttle switch plate off, cable tie the wot switch up and fasten the plate back so that its cleared at full throttle. Again, note down the changes. (it will probably hunt at idle) 3/ Get hold of a spare blue temp sender and connect up to it but without the sender being sat in the rad hose, just cable tie it around the rad hose or something.. Again, note down what happens. Neil.
  17. Clicky here, good stuff! Not the best sound...But the Lamin-X.co.uk sponsored Corvette is currently going well! :D Neil.
  18. New BBM charger outlet to replace the crap g-werks/pitstop one...Much better quality, and i have gained .5psi while on the first butterfly in the throttle body...haven't given it any stick yet to see the boost reading at full nacker. It came in handy while i was taking the pics too...Excuse the temp jubilee clip.
  19. Cheers guys :D Fine wire wool and then Autosmart glass polish on the lenses mate 8) Neil.
  20. Thanks...From the heart man. :( :camp:  Neil.

    Borbet Wheels.

9x16 A's...My favourite wheel of all time bar 1. :D Neil.
  22. The Kph ones raise the spoiler at a higher speed i think, the Vr6's across the pond raise at 60/70 mph iirc? It will work something like Boostmonkey suggests anyway, just alter the activation speed. And yep RE:Your pm, , to confuse things...I have just had a look at the module on my late 91 valver and it is indeed 535 919 845A same as my late 92 G60 :cuckoo: See pics. Im wondering if they got the late style module a little earlier than i first thought :? Or the module that actually has two plugs is the later one rather than what i thought was the early one. I have had both kinds (the single plug type and double plug type) but only have the single plug types now. Neil.
