  1. Why am i sat here thinking/head scratching about this sh|t at 1.30am? Click the red x, click the red x! Ive had a bit of an idea... Im trying to save up for an exhaust system (got a 4-2-1 manifold already) as the current one is starting to blow more and more. So if i get the system sorted so i know its air tight, then double check that these red tops are useable, and then get it mapped by someone like Steve aka ex pitstop or wayne at chipwaizards? and see if they can spot anything? Does that sound like a plan to finding a possible cause while sorting the bits that need doing anyway? (system/red tops need map anyway) Will be a slightly longer term plan due to cash flow though. Neil.
  2. And a video here connected to a cold bts...Its like a different animal man :( Revs up like a motorbike! and no popping. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=abpd39YRJOk
  3. It be this oner mate :) And a video of the gauge here while it pops in the inlet manifold, its a dark video...but watch the gauge and listen at 17 seconds in. Also listen how the exhaust note changes, it changes at 27 seconds in too...but dosn't pop...sometimes it does, sometimes not. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=4CIXoC2djrg Neil. :)
  4. Yeah, i know what you are saying mate 8) But i can only really afford bits and bats of money here and there...I could nver really afford a 'bill' in one lump as such. Well I could...but im having to be careful as im putting money into business etc. Having just given the car a good drive, its very jerky pottering about...and its definately slower on the motorway.Obviously the lack of correct chip is causing it...Bloody injector caps broke on two original injectors too, not long since i replaced em, but they got stuck in the head so had to wind a self tapper in and pull em out. Cheers guys,Neil.
  5. Yep, can appreciate that it ideally needs a custom chip now, its not smelling of fuel, or putting black smoke out or anything. It runs the same really, just seems to rev a little bit better low down...more responsive like. I understand that the lambda will be correcting the fueling a little too. Ive been offered a red top chip to try, so i may give that a go? worth a shot? Also...Just to reitterate the problem...it intermittently pops/backfires in the inlet manifold, when this happens, the boost gauge spikes from say -20vac to 0.And it revs up slowly compared to when its cold/if i tape wot switch or plug a cold bts in. Nah...The possible labour charges scare the hell out of me tbh mate, if i take it anywhere they are gonna need the car for a long time going through everything. And i really can't stress how much ive tried with it. Only thing that hasn't been replaced is the knock sensor...and im told that it wouldn't cause the problem. And if im honest, i don't have a lot of faith... Neil. :)
  6. ...Probably never to be found. :( Seriously...Thats my little update  These are the red tops im running, most are normally 300cc and 14ohms i think? Neil.
  7. Jesus christ! Nearly 4 years now since this started! :confused4:
  8. Update Its now running red tops...The problem is obviously still there like. Ive come to the conclusion that the cause of all this is....the shell. Neil.
  9. I like it! :D I reckon a set od wheel spacers would give it a bit more stance/presence... :) Neil.
  10. Yeah - that drives me up the bleeding wall as well! Same :mad2: I just don't understand the purpose of the indents/plastic strips on the roof...they don't actually make the water runn off to a place where you'd think! Neil.
  11. V-A-G.co.uk Ive been working none stop on this, i hope its what people want in a show site...Clear enough and easy enough to get the important info from. Im no web designer to be honest! Just a few more things to add as the details come in. Thanks,[email protected]
  12. Id try moving the sun visor, inserting another fuse and see if it blows again. The wiring to the sun visor has possibly worn through... Neil.
  13. Cheers mate, i couldn't find it on their site but ill give them a ring or sommet. Neil.
  14. Black leather - optional for both standard and recaro seats. Light beige leather. Light beige - Connolly leather for standard seats. Grey leather. Black splitt cloth. Grey atout cloth. Black geometric cloth for recaro sport seats. Neil. :)
  15. Only grey listed in my 95 vr6 brochure here... Neil.
  16. Cheers Manny, thats the same pic i have, but i haven't found the relay in the car. Not all had them apparently. Guess whats getting on my nerves again...
  17. What are people running? Would like a rough idea of where the knock sensor starts getting nervous, i know there are major differences to take into account such as fuel/modifications etc... But what sort of advance can people run with the sns 5.5 roughly?
  18. Im sticking with the method of leaving the rocker cover and gasket in place, and aligning the two dots on the front of the cam pully with the notch on the rocker cover. Whats confusing to me is the picture makes it look as though the rocker is removed...and the notch pictured is below the edge of the head. :bad-words: Also i can't stand the method for aligning the inter shaft pully, what an utter sh|t idea.As you turn the pully, it can still be seen as or look like its aligned, but how the hell would you ever know for sure when there is no horizontal maker point. May have a mess with mine again tommorow too, fecking thing is getting on my nerves. And why can't i quote attatchments?
  19. As title, where is the Control unit for Lambda Probe Heating on a 92 G60? Also, where is the relay for the fuel pump run on? I know there is the pressure switch on the end of the fuel rail, but where is the relay for this? Part numbers/relay numbers etc would really help... My problem that started over 3 years ago, happened around the same time that my fuel pump stopped running on, and im wondering if this is somehow related. Neil.
  20. Flatted off with 600/800 grit. Painted, still wet in the pics and some feckin dust had landed on it. Could have been a better job tbh...Ive definately done better in the past. And i dunno why my camera keeps putting weird lines in my pics...
  21. Meguairs heavy cut cleaner, its from the bodyshop range... :) Found a small dent below the door handle hole, so i skimmed the lot again...Forgot a pic of it flatted off with 400/600 grit paper...I know the filler looks a mess, but i had enough over the dipped area's. Primed again, i removed the window trim and flatted most of the masked area this time. The masking tape isn't masking where im painting, its just so i didn't flat off too much. Ill remove it when i blow the door over with the tornado red. Its pretty much perfect now dent wise but tbh im losing interest at the minute.
  22. Fitted the front and rear badges. Threw (literally) a skim of filler on the door. Flatted off with rough paper. Bit of primer which i will take off to reveal high/low spots before another skim of filler.
  23. Hi mate, Mer bumper and exterior vinyl cleaner. Ive banged on about the fact that plastics need cleaning before dressing for ages but not many people listen or believe me or sommet, i don't know. But plastic needs cleaning before dressing, not peanut butter which after a few years will see your plastic a nice baked grey. Decided to knock the door in/rough it up so i can skim it over. Bit of primer before i skim it. Plastic primed/painted the grill badge vw black. Rear one was tatty, so i painted a spare.
