  1. The subs I had were 5 inches each, in a small sealed enclosure. They used to sound pretty good, but they couldn't drop really low, due to their size. The new sub is in a boot build, and the sealed box is the right size for the sub (at least I hope it is, it's what Audioscape recommend for their box).
  2. Currently running the components off the front 2 channels of the amp, and have two bridged channels for the sub. I was previously running 2 x Focal 5WS subs off the amp, and have kept the setting pretty much constant for the new sub. The amp is set for a sub (lowpass filter switched on, 100Hz filter module in, the level is low - down around 0.3).
  3. I've just fitted a 10" Rainbow Amboss sub and Audioscape box and was wanting some help with good settings to use a start point with my amp. The rest of the system is an Alpine 9815RB head, with Genesis Profile 4 amp, and Diamond M3 components. I've currently wired the sub in series, and am using 2 channels from the sub, bridged. It just doens't sound as good as I was expecting, so I must be doing something wrong. Any advice from the experts gratefully received.
  4. That's a fair whack for that. I got my 90A from the bay for £40....
  5. Might help a bit with heat soak in traffic. I've also drilled holes behind my oil cooler in the plastic wheel arch liner, to allow for the passage of air. Again, that might help if you need to get more air flowing over the intercooler...
  6. Cheers guys - given that the fan I have is only rated at 0.7A I was going to run it in parallel with the rad fan, rather than use a separate relay. Will see how it goes.....
  7. Just to give a bit of background - after speaking with the guys at thinkauto (who were the most useless people I've ever talked with) that make the oil coolers, they don't have a suitable bracket for my cooler and their fans were £25 (not thermostated). I was going to try it all out first with a high power 12v fan I've got, and then move to a proper one if it looks like it'll work, and I thought first port of call would be to run it when the second stage cooling kicks in for the rad....
  8. I've got a Mocal oil cooler located in front of the passenger wheel arch where the inercooler used to be. I'm looking to hook up a fan, so that when I'm stuck in traffic it still gets some air over it. Basically I need some advice on the best way to do this. What I'm wondering is can I wire this in parallel with the high speed wire from the radiator fan (as the oil cooling fan will only draw a small current). Can any electrical boffins tell me if this wont/will work??

    JMC's G60

Hooked up a cold air feed today (with the occasional use of gaffer tape as well), and also relocated the temperature sensor from inside the bumper to inside the cold air feed (to give me an idea to air temp coming in). This was something saw in one of Henny's posts, so thanks fo the tip  Also butchered away at the bottom corner of the air box so that the cold air just flows straight in. All I need now is a long journey to see how it fairs :D :D
  10. Oooh, now I like those. Anybody shed any light (bad pun) on whether these are early or late shaped, building on what Phil K said above.

    Engine bay stickers

Been having a play around with Photoshop trying to recreate some of the stickers from the rad cover (as I understand they are now obsolete). Was wondering what people though of them and if anyone had also had a go (and made a better attempt at it than me  ).... AND.... I've just realised I've put this in Exterior by accident, doh!!!!!
  12. Talked with dealer about this, and it looks as though it is something that was sold in Germany, but never here in the UK (makes me think it's specifically designed for a LHD drive dash). Put in an order for one anyway, and should be here in a few days. Will report back on what it is (if it's anything interesting, anyway)
  13. Funny that - remember this from about 6 months ago, and another post... Good to see you got your charger working though, looks really smart

    How rude.....

Useless, yep, that about sums it up. Unfortunately the oil cooler is down in the wheel arch where the old intercooler was, so I was wanting to add a small fan, just for when it's stuck in traffic on the motorway, as I hate the way the temp just creeps up and up....
  15. Just been on the phone with Thinkauto (make Mocal oil coolers) as I was wanting a fan system to cool it when the car is stationary. Gave them the details of my fan and asked what they had that was suitable and got the response "no we don't make anything for that size cooler". I was expecting them to elaborate, but nothing, and when I asked "OK, can you recommend somethign I can use?", all I got was "no, goodbye", and they put the phone down. How rude is that??? Anyway rant over, just couldn't believe it.

    JMC's G60

Cheers _leon_, had a quick look and there is something about it (looks like I even asked about it before, doh). Time to order some more bits I think :D

Will do rolex, but waiting for a bit of nice weather so I can clean it first. Bit grubby at the moment

    JMC's G60

Cheers Bally, the KW's have made such a massive improvement to the handling. Also modified the passenger wheels arch plastic cover to allow an air flow over my oil cooler. Worked well on the motorway today, seemed to bring the temperature down a lot quicker when on the move. Want to rig up a fan though so I get some air flow when stationary, as the roadworks on the M25 and M1 were a right pain this afternoon. Anybody done anything similar with their oil cooler???

    JMC's G60

After another fun trip down to G-Werks (always a pleasure, and good to see their new premises) had some KW Variant 1's fitted giving my G60 a suitably lower stance. What a difference they make ove the old setup I had - much smoother ride and then good and firm when needed. Anyway, less chat, more picture. Had the wheel off today to get a good shot of them...
  20. Had my KW Variant 1's fitted at G-Werks. Woo hoo. Much shinyness and massively improved handling.
  21. Tested it earlier - on mine the air comes out of the vents just behind that rather than those holes.
  22. Just had some Variant 1's fitted by Darren, and after driving home on them (60 miles) thought I'd post up my 1st impressions, in case anyone was thinking of buying them. Basically fantastic. :D :D My old suspension was a mixture of G-max lowered (about 40mm) suspension and some Boge dampers on the back. Never really been happy with that since it was fitted (far too crashy for my liking). This new setup (which has been setup to drop by approx 50mm) feels so much more smooth under normal driving conditions, and is really responsive when it gets pushed a bit (few nice country lanes on the way home from Littlehampton). Much reduced the body roll too. All in all a big thumbs up and well recommended :thumbleft:
  23. The holes are all the way along the front of the dash, and the 'covering' in ETKA also seems to go all the way alog the dash (curiouser and curiouser).
  24. If I manage to find anything, I'll post in on here first.... Although 'useful information' and 'local dealer' have tended not to be terms I use in the same sentence.
  25. It's strange but ETKA lists a part 535 857 270 called 'covering' which looks as though it should sit over that part of the dash.. Mmm, will dig deeper and see if my local dealer can shed any light (yeah, right).
