  1. There's one on pg 5 of my gallery... clicky
  2. I've got DDI sills on mine (with Corrado G60 etched on them in small print). The sills are great, the adhesive that comes with them is absolutely awful though. I ended up using proper 3M trim tape to attach them. Like the door pulls as well - i was looking at a set of those on ebay recently.
  3. Big thumbs up for LJ - sent through a piece of trim I needed, it was well packed and turned up quickly. Thanks mate.
  4. Sorry Yan, haven't fitted them yet and am out in the US now until 12th Feb. Should be fitting them when I get back.
  5. Err, I'm running a 65mm and flowed head on mine with green tops, so not necessarily true.
  6. You don't always need uprated injectors - I'm running about 210bhp at the fly on original injectors. Depends on how much power you need and what other mods you have.
  7. I ordered a pair of these from autolamps-online (£24.99 including delivery). If you're thinking of ordering a set, ring them first to confirm they are in stock - the website mentioned nothing about them waiting for stock when I ordered mine.
  8. Woo hoo, the Philips X-Treme power bulbs finally arrived today. Looks like anybody with them on back order may be starting to receive them. When I get round to fitting these I'll report back on what they're like.

Small world, I paid a fiver for mine as well....

Thanks for the offer ChrisP, but just picked one up from a scrappy. Hopefully it's the right piece....
  11. It should be easy to identify the wire that should having the pulsing signal. There are 3 wires together and one by itself but all in a line. The one by itself is the one you want (and should pulse around 1v on tickover, just put the multimeter probe down the back of the plug, that worked for me). On mine it takes a few minutes to warm up though, before it starts to oscillate.
  12. Just got a replacement door catch mechanism (picture flagrantly stolen from one of Tekaras threads) and was wondering if anyone had hints/tips/watchouts for me for when I replace mine please.
  13. Big thumbs up for Tekara. Quick delivery and can definately recommend.

Thread revival time. Did anyone get to the bottom of which ones fit (or are the best fit), as I'd love to get one of these??

Cheers for the positive comments as always folks. Only a little mod I know, but thought I would put up what I made at the weekend. Been wanting a decent phone holder for ages, but didn't want something huge or obtrusive, so decided to make one from some strip metal I had left over from doing my stereo. Think it turned out OK....

As promised, pics of the current ride height. As it is the front splitter scrapes over the speed bumps on my driveway, so it wont be going any lower at the moment.

Yeah, that was my thought. Silver looked awful in a dark interior. All I need to do now is get the lights in the stereo changed to red. Saw someone on the talkaudio forum had done that - he had to replace all the surface mounted LED's. Not a nice job. Would be unique tho' afterwards....

Just changed my Alpine 9815rb headunit over from silver to black so it matches my interior better. Sounds easy, but for those of you who are Alpine fans the 9815rb was only available in silver in the UK. I've ordered a replacement nose piece assembly (technical term for the plastic cover off the faceplate) from the US and it arrived today. 5 mins with a screwdriver, and voila, my stereo now matches the interior of the car better 8) . Been wanting to do this for 2 years, as I thought the silver headunit just looked daft in a dark interior.
  19. That's alright mate, wasn't the easiest to find on the Alpine website - went back through the old manuals in the end. Might be worth trying to find somewhere on the web with a half decent picture of it, just to make sure the button layout is compatible with yours. If in doubt, Alpine UK parts will be able to tell you if it's just a matter of swapping the nosepiece assemblies (not sure if it's more complicated because of the slider control).
  20. The Alpine US site does list a 9855 though, and eBay.com has a 9855 on there with a picture - is this darker than your faceplate?? Clicky There may yet be hope :D
  21. As long as you can check to see if the same model was released in black in the US you should be able to change it. The only difference on mine is where it said "T.Info" on the UK one it says "mute" on the US one (presumably they don't have travel info in the US). But I'm looking in to getting a black 9812rr in the UK, as I could swap the buttons and change the illumination to red (it's close enough on the front face design to swap some of the buttons). Cost wise it wasn't as much as I thought. In the end I got it sent to a friend on mine in Canada and he shipped it over here. All in all (including postage within Canada and shipping to the UK) it came to about £30. Scarily enough I phoned Alpine UK to the equivalent piece for the 9812rr - they wanted £45  For a little bit of plastic - madness. Very greedy and my response was thanks but no thanks.
  22. Cheers for the comments folks. I got the details of the company from the alpine.com US site. Unlike the UK, Alpine in the US sell parts through distributers, rather than centrally. The only parts distributer I found who was willing to ship to the UK was the Canadian one (W.C. Enterprises, Ontario Canada - google search will give their details). It's e-mail or phone for them, and they are a bit slow in responding to e-mails. Easy job to do once you have the part (at least is on the 9815) took me 5 mins, and most of that was figuring out how the silver knob came off the front....

No more of the sound deadening unfortunately, basically after the shots on the previous page, the second (inner) skin of the door was covered over as well, and a hole cut out behind the speaker. This then had the moisture barrier placed over it to keep the water out. As for pictures of it lowered, should be able to get some this weekend weather permitting.
  25. Had ups and downs with mine. Spent the 1st 6 months fixing everything that the previous owner had let spill. After that, not too many problems, rear brake calliper, exhaust needing attention every 6 months (down to the make of exhaust), wheels bearings, door handles breaking, all the usual stuff for a 15 year old car really. Would definately recommend a trip the G-Werks to give it a once over after you get it, and get the charger serviced.
