Why don't you have an online parts store? Or any major car manufacturer come to think of it. It would probably be cheaper than using a main dealer, and you could order up obsolete parts that are taking up space in your warehouse. So why not?

So I take it that your over your "I cant take it anymore-I'm going to set fire to my project" phase then?

Took mine out for a spin this evening and the brand new power steering belt has twisted itself whilst still on the pulleys!? and semi-shredded to boot. :( Is there a difference between the Corrado pas belt and a MK2 gti one?I did think it was kind of small when it was fitted.

All nice and shiny and (legally) back on the road, after 18 months of work, only to find that just about every other winter project appears on the same day! Driving round town all smily and happy,I spied, not one but two chavved up motors-a bronze Pug 206 with plastic adornments and an Escort with the same plastic but only slightly more melted. Whats worse, these two were a hairs breadth apart following each other around all day. Also spotted was a very red and gleaming 1970's Pontiac TransAm(Smokey and the Bandit stlee),a 5.0 1996 Mustang and at one of the garages, filling up,a vintage car of some sort who's body was all leather! I suppose the fact that it's also very sunny and warm today, has got nothing to do with all this motoring shenanigans..... :)

Got my insurance sorted out. Cleaned and polished my C until my elbows bled.

WoooHoooo!!!! Passed MoT! Still need insurance though.....

Put mine in for it's MoT and trying to find someone who'll insure it. :(

It's a "temporary" replacement for the VW badge wot was pinched years ago.  Have got a replacement, but it's lost in the shed somewhere.

Now deflapped and spacers fitted. Any ideas over which coilovers to go for? Apologies for the pic size, but I no longer have a photo editor!

"You evil,knuckle-biting bitch" Usually said after trying to remove a stubborn nut that suddenly decides to let go. Also :ignore: and :ignore:,usually :gag:,sometimes  and even rarely :!:

Cheers chaps. They are Keskin KT1's and are 9x16 at the rear and 7.5x16 at the front. CaiosG60,it's called a Rollba. It's used for clearing loose snow from the runway-I work at our local airport. It's basically a giant kind of snowblower. :) Yeah, the flaps will be going. Anyone want to buy a set of Weitec springs and shocks? (barely used! )
-
Still nedd to fit spacers to the rear and may now HAVE to fit coilovers. What you think?

And here was me thinking that I was gonna be daring and new(ish) with a set of 9x16 for the rear and 7.5x16 for the front KT1's. . Actually,I'm expecting them home in the next day or two,so watch this space for pics. :)

Anyone have a clue as to what these should be attached to? I think the larger one was off the distributor shroud-which no longer exists-but I have no idea about the smaller one?

ahh the lovely lynne..........she's more an ILF than a MILF  ......haven't seen her for ages tho.........mores the pity  Hehehe,it was her sister that I bought my current Golf from.Family of Dubnuts. Her dad apparently has a MK3 VR6 with about 10k on it.Only comes out on the rare sunny days we get. :) One of the advantages of living on an Island-you only have to ask around for the cars history-none of that datacheck shite!

*8hudder* Must be in the region of £5-6k now. It'll be on the 4th set of rims soon. Granted,I have only paid for two sets, but they weren't cheap. "Only" had it 7 yrs. And it ain't finished yet........

There used to be a yellow 16v up here that was female owned. I think Roddy(VR6Storm) knows the one,as she moved down to Aberdeen to work for the council there.......not that I know her that well like..... Not sure if she still has it or not.

Right,as it's an absolutlely cracking day here,weatherwise-sun shining, birds singing, girlies wandering around with short skirts on etc-Ithought I would do a small test. Took the GTI out for a spin around town, all cleaned up and looking the dogs, and hardly got a glance. Although I did have a spat(on country roads by the way-not around town) with a bright yellow Cupra 20vt,which to my surprise struggled to keep up! :-P Then I went and got the Corrado out for the first time in 16 months.Just took it in to get the fuel tank filled. I dunno whether it was the noise of the car,or the look of it,but I even had people stopping and pointing. Got the looks from the girlies in short skirts too,so there must be something about the Corrado. It wasn't even clean! Only downer was the oil pressure light/warning beep came on a couple of times for no apparent reason.Have to see to that. I'm still grinning from the drive in the Corrado. When I got back in the Golf,I felt like I was driving 4x4.

Waiting for new wheels/tyres to come home,so thought I'd take the old gerl out for a run round the compound this afternoon. As three of my tyres won't go thru the MOT, thought I 'd have a bit of fun... Then got shouted at for leaving 20ft long black eleven's down the road   Even that couldn't stop me grinning-can't wait to get it road legal! :-P

I think my G60 is running a bit on the rich side at idle. Is there a way of taking the mix down without resorting to tampering with the ECU? It's not really a worry,as it went through the emissions test okay, but I can smell it in the exhaust gas.

That'll be the conversion for our *ahem* more senior members then..... :)

Wasn't sure about them to start off with, but the more chops I see,the more I like them. As mentioned by others, they do look better with the grill spoiler(which has settled the debate of whether I was going to put mine back on or not),but as I've just ordered up a new set of wheels and tyres, the lights will have to wait until my credit card has cooled down a bit. 8)
