Of the power steering system on a '91 G60.If anyone has it. Is it possible for any other part of this f*@%ing car to go wrong?
-
Had the day off today. Had a shedload of stuff to do which all went out the window after I went and bought GT4.(£29.99 too! :) ) Spent most of the day tooling around in arcade mode and then decided to get serious and do the B-licence. It's a shame that you can't import your cars from GT3 as well as credits or I would have completed the thing by now..... :-P Wish it had an import for GT Concept as well.Ho-hum.

Just out of curiosity, why did you have a flexi joint fitted? I bought a TSR 4 branch and had a local company make up a boss and weld it to the pipe. Had no probs fitting it to the car-only needed a small length of pipe to extend the TSR unit to meet the exhaust. Probably better to get it heat wrapped too. *EDIT*Assuming that you ARE getting shot of the cat that is  *EDIT*

I thought 250bhp was about as much as you could get out of the G60 engine without resorting to strengthening internals and the like.Or having to strip it down and rebuild the thing. :? I haven't had mine on a rolling road yet.No-one here has one. The last time it was RR'd was at Star about three years ago-183bhp with a stage 4 Jabba charger, chip and pulley. With the rest of the mods I've done hoping for around 200bhp.And a shed load of torque.

I'm in the process of looking for the best deal attmo. Went to a few online places and got a qoute from Norwich union-fully comp-of £408. :D Although that was without mods declared,so I can problably ad another £200 quid to that,if they agree to insure it.......

Took it out for a test drive today...... :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D Now I need to get it through an MOT :(
-
My G60 is almost back together and ready to go for it's pre MOT inspection. So why, after stripping down and virtually rebiulding the upper engine and exhaust, fitting an Intercooler from a golf G60,replacing all the suspension, does it go and throw it's rattle out of the pram by doing niggly little thing like losing the battery clamp? Or refusing to let the drivers side headlight work? Or,for some reason I still have to fathom, making it's handbrake stop working, after replacing the calipers on BOTH sides just before it went off the road? Sometimes I just wanna kill it........

Not had it out yet since the FMIC. Still waiting fot some pipework to be made to finish it off-but I expect it to be fun........ Plus I need to buy a new battery,as the one thats in at the moment is deader than a dodo on death island. :)

I've been banging on about this for long enough,so now that it's finally in,I thought I'd share the moment......Enjoy!

Standard Golf G60. I like that idea.Hopefuuly along with rest of the mods,it'll be more than Scooby's that'll get a surprise! I'm want to know more please.... :?:

It's in and it fits-without toooo much chopping around with my luuuuverly new angle grinder wot I got for Xmas! :D All the shiny new pipework I got from Bar-tek is in place-on the outlet side anyway. Just have to get the inlet pipe sorted and I'm done. 8) :D I may post up some pics when I can be arsed to get a new battery for the digicam,or when the rest of the pipework is in-whichever comes first. I'm just extremely chuffed with myself!!! :rainbowafro: :drinking: The question is,when it's finished,do I make it look standard and go for the sleeper look, with the original wheels, lights, etc,or do I put on a new set of rims and cut out the number plate recess and mesh the hole for airflow to the I/C-give it a race look?

Sounds like a good idea. Not a lot of response so far though.. Come on you lot. The A9 north of Inverness is a crackin bit of tra....road. (No speed cameras either. 8) )

I'm a happy puppy at the mo' :D :D Arrived in today's post-direct from Germany. All I need now is the pipes from the charger outlet.

Thanks,G-man. I had wondered whether that 135deg hose would work or not. :thumb right:
-
Right, seeing as it's nigh on impossible to get hold of an original Golf G60 U-bend,without spending ££££'s,I thought I could make one up using 2x76mm 90deg Samco hoses and metal connecting flange between the two.Obviously, one end of the hose would be connected to an RSR outlet, then the other end to the flange then the second 90deg bend. 8) This should be as good as using an original part? The rest of the pipework is coming from BAR-TEK in Germany,as they do a stainless steel kit for golf G60 intercoolers-as well as ones for the C too.

Damn. Here's me thinking this was going to be about those "colonel bogey or Dukes of Hazzard" style musical horns. :cuckoo:

Anyone know of/used Wallace performance in Aberdeen? Any reports, good or bad? :?:

About a week ago,I had driven up the A9 from Inverness and was driving at night in fairly murky weather with my front driving (fogs) lights on. Just as I pulled up outside my house,on came the blue lights. The copper had seen me going past with my foglights on and it would be an automatic fine of £30. Never knew that it was an on the spot fine for driving with front fogs on! I apologised and told him about the weather at the time and had forgotten to switch them off(I had been on a ferry for an hour and a half as well) and got let off. :)

Help needed please with sizes for pipework for a Golf G60 FMIC conversion. I think I'm correct in saying I need a 76mm bore 180deg pipe from the charger RSR outlet,or would a 135deg bend be enough? Are 2x76mm to 68mm-ish reducers for the inlet/outlets on the I/C ok? What angles and lengths of pipe are needed to be the "in-between" bits? And in fitting the Intercooler itself, can I get away with leaving the rad in its original position and cutting the slam panel? Sorry for the all the questions but Info needed cos I'm chucking a few ideas about at the moment :) Thanks.

Inverness,Monday evening around 5:30pm-ish. Dark coloured Corrado going south past the Glenalbyn pub, just over the bridge. Don't know which version cos it was dark and raining, but the reg was K 448 *** or something similar.

I'm going to be getting a new set of rims dor my G60 soon and I quite like the Mille Miglia cup3 wheels but they only come in five stud fitment. My question is,if I order these wheels and say they're for a VR6 and then buy a set of H&R adaptors, will they bolt straight on or would I be better off doing it properly, and swapping the hubs,CV joints etc,to VR6 spec? :?: :?: :?: :)
-
I think that's plenty to be going on with for now..........   Are you under some sort of delerium? I intend to get it as tuned as far as I can afford to! (or more likely,as far as the Wifie will let me!)

Here's the list(so far!); Cylinder head rebuilt by C+R with enlarged valves,260deg cam,matched/polished inlet manifold,TSR 4-1 stainless steel exhaust manifold with decat pipe,Milltek S/S exhaust,Jabbasport stage 4 charger+chip upgrade,68mm pulley,Jabba induction kit. Soon to be fitted,Golf G60 front intercooler and at some stage,i.e when funds have sufficiently recovered,a toothed belt system. Suspension upgraded to Weitec springs and dampers,VR6 top mounts and uprated ARB's to go on too. More to be done but only when it can be afforded. :( 8)
