Ah, i see... I think i'll re-mount mine when I have some spare time :)
-
Yeah, it isn't cheap but I think it was money well spent. Its quite a bit louder than stock but more subtle than a K&N (which stayed on the car for a couple of hours before my head hurt) It gets much louder if you take off the cold air feed. Mines only goes about 15cms to behind the light, same as Kev's by the look of it.

Another vote for the BMC CDA kit here... The sound it makes is spot on too, I found the other cone filters way too loud!! Radodale - Don't see many vr's driving around Halifax :) kevhaywire - Did you have to drill any holes to mount your CDA to the bodywork ?
-
Ah well, i stand corrected! It just looked different to mine for some reason - blackberry does change colour through out the day tho!
-
I don't think thats Blackberry, I will be getting a plate and eating my words if i'm wrong now
-
Get a BMC CDA Kit - very well made and they sound so good!
-
I think everyone should be retested every 10 years or so, there's some absolutely appalling drivers out there!
-
My mate has one he's been thinking of selling for a long time now. Its a good one though and he's wanting at least 5k+ for it - PM me if you want his details
-
When you remove the air pipe the BMC get significantly louder (bit too loud for my liking). I've just attached a small section of pipe that goes up behind the headlight, which seems to work well.

I was wondering...... If that concrete block had been half the height would the smart car forward roll ? You could set up skittles and play giant car bowling :)
-
Nice golf mate, i'd have thought you'd have no problems selling it! I don't think they are recaros, look like Mk3 golf\corrado seats. Could be wrong though, are they electric ?? Good luck finding a 'rado, top choice of colour too 8)

Love the new brembos mate 8) Awesome car!
-
Cheers mate... I've just got it fitted and its superb!! Much quieter than the K&N, very pleased with it 8) I may route the ducting through the CC hole if I ever get round to it... I just wondered how you can get the pipe so air is forced into it ?
-
As a matter of interest, have you removed the plastic cover underneath your car ? Just trying to work out where your airflow pipe actually comes out. Dan

Thanks for that!! Again thanks for the bit of pipe Gareth. I've ended up having to buy a straight bit but it was very useful for finding the right size! Just need to find some spare time to fit it now :D
-
I've just bought one of these and will hopefully be fitting it at the weekend. Just a couple of questions for anyone who's done this already: 1. Where can I attach the bracket to hold the CDA in place ? (anybody have any close up pics) 2. I don't really want to remove the Carbon Canister so whats the best route for the air pipe to take ? Cheers, Dan

Thanks for the advice everyone - They didn't give me a fault code but i'm sure the abs works fine when I can get the light to go out. I'll have a good look at it when i've some spare time! It sounds like it might be a good idea to try bleeding it too. Cheers
-
Yeh, I expect that was them just testing the brakes... you just get a bit paradoid :) Esp. when you hear storys like that!! I've done a lockup test and the abs works fine when the lights gone out after a restart.
-
My cars been in for a service today at the stealers. They picked up an Abs fault, the light was coming on intermittently so I knew this would crop up. Anyway, turns out to be ABS Hydraulic Control Unit!! and it would cost me £900 to replace! I kindly declined this  As I say its an intermittent problem, usually after the cars been running for 10 mins a restart clears the problem. Is it possible its just a loose connection or something ?? Anyone else had to replace one before ? Cheers, P.S. I recorded the mileage and it had an extra 4 miles on it!! They did a brake fluid change, would they of had to test it ? or has it been used for the sandwich run :x

I love the look of that black corrado with the silver vw badge.... looks so mean!! What lights are on it ?
-
im guessing your talking about saving space on the site??? personally i dont do any of the designing but do try help out with the ideas behind it, my mates does it all so can say why he has gone that way :( Yeah, they'll download a lot quicker and look a lot smoother too. Jpgs are full colour and Gifs are 256 colour.
-
Some very nice photos you have there 8), but wouldn't they be better saved as JPGs instead of Gifs ?
-
Yeah, small oval - (If the std VW one ever gives up)... Looks really nice and subtle 8) Its a shame you don't live a bit closer... I'd of liked to hear a vr with that setup on before I bought it! Whats it like on motorways ?? Does the noise ever get annoying ?

Welcome! A Storm you say.... how much was it ?? Judging by this thread it might be worth about 11-12 grand  I'm going to go for a BMC CDA induction kit and a Magnex Catback (£500), i'm hoping that will free up a few Hp... (will probably just make it sound faster :)) As Henny says.. there isn't too much you can do without spending mega bucks!
