  1. Aye, I hope so! Got a couple of things that need sorting, but nothing too major. Shocks are tired, but Mrs B wants it lowered anyway, so that's not a problem.
  2. Awesome guys, cheers. What do the products required cost?
  3. Funk me, you really don't hang around do you? Fair fookin play  :notworthy: :notworthy:
  4. For all those valeter types, is it possible to remove scratches from leather? We've spotted this on the Bay and were wondering if you could get rid of the marks using a leather treatment or something
  5. Had the same thing happen to my old one a couple of years ago, really really annoying, so I know how you feel. Sorry I can't add any more than has already been said :(
  6. We thought so, really pleased with it. The first two we went to see were crap in comparison. Third time lucky I guess, and only the other side of Bury St. It definitely drives well, much better than the others we tried (I had a go in 4 - OBD1 coilpack and dizzy). Just can't wait to pick it up now, Mrs B is well excited!
  7. Looks really tidy in those pics. Good work. Black bonnet FTW 8)
  8. I'm sure Mrs B will start her own members gallery when we get it next weekend, but here are the pics off the Autotrader Ad....
  9. Mrs B has just bought a car this evening, well, paid a deposit anyway. R-reg Mk3 VR6 (OBD2), 115k, mint condition, 12month MOT, 6 months tax, full service history, climate control, electric everything, BBS alloys, Pearl Blue/purple......1900 pounds sterling! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) Just thought we'd share that!.....Pics when we pick it up next weekend
  10. Glad to see you started a build thread on here, Ben! Seeing all the work so far in one long post is mint! Didn't realise you'd got all the subframe etc painted and ready to re-fit! What paint did you use? Hammerite? Those rims look fookin sweet.....seats aren't bad either
  11. Maybe, maybe  Hmmm. Do you think it might be worth going to check out cars for sale? Any clue on the entry fee?
  12. We weren't going no, but, I think we have a winner (thanks to Jon) Mk3 16v
  13. Well, it wasn't a bad car at all, but he wouldn't budge from 2K for a 93500mile K-plater. We offered 1800 then 1900, but he wasn't interested.... Spotted another we shall try and go to see tomorrow, local as well :)
  14. Off to have a look at another tomorrow night. Broadened search to earlier ones. Found one in Milton Keynes, so not so far to go. 8)
  15. Nope, didn't see the point. Plus it was getting close to my bedtime
  16. Hmmm, I might well do that :censored: I would imagine that steve's would be out of our price range :(
  17. Woohoo No more Pug-rot! Doubt you can get down tomorrow night, but if you can, Steve at Nomads has just had his VR rebuilt, and it's soo damn quiet, until you give it a kicking... no tappety taps, no rattly rats... Lots of VR'd Mk3's out there though... If you come across anything in E-London area, will be happy to go pre-view for you if you like. Cheers dude. :) Just found the VR we went to see on ebay. He says nothing about the rotten arches on the ad, and its up to 1550 quid! I'm sure that the people bidding will not have been to see it, as he said to me last night that I was the first person to view. Someone is going to get a shock!
  18. It might well do that Jon. Just a total waste of an evening really Yeti, your motor does look nice, unfortunately Mrs B has set her mind on a VR and 3 door
  19. Bodywork is the first thing on our minds to be fair. Anything mechanical can be fixed, but once you get rot, you wont get rid of it. Of course the engine needs to be in reasonable nick though
  20. Well, we did the 180 mile round trip, and what a waste of time! :bad-words: I specifically asked the seller on the phone if the bodywork was in good nick i.e. rust etc. He said "no rust, just stone chips on the bonnet". Well, He must have been taking about another car or something. The rear arches were proper rotten with a bad repair on the one side. The side skirt trims were all funked as well. I'm right p1ssed off  Other than that, the interior was really quite good, leather in pretty good nick although could have done with some 'hide food'. The engine sounded sweet as a nut, some weeping around the thermostat housing and the LHS head gasket, but nothing that worried me. It was just a shame that the body was so poor. Still, it wasn't a total waste. We have a benchmark standard, just want to find one without the knackered bodywork really.
  21. Cool. Just about to leave. Lets hope its a good one for the 200 mile round trip!!
  22. Yeah, just spec and trim that is different. Heated recaros, AC, black pillar trims and wood 'effect' gear knob. This has the recaros and AC just not the trim. Not sure if they are heated though, guess we'll find out tonight :)
  23. Cheers dude. Not sure on the chains. Will have a listen when we get there. Got a long list of things to look at, just don't want to be bent over on the price that's all. I HATE buying cars. I always worry about buying a knacker!! I'm not to fussed about doing the chains anyway, I can enlist the Toadmeister for assistance in exchange for my services anyway :fondle:
  24. Going to look at this tonight, can someone tell myself and Mrs B if it is a reasonable price for the car? P-reg MK3 VR6....not a highline, although advertised as one MOT and TAX til November 110k :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help:
