  1. Dave, I'm sure that the 9A inlet camshaft has an extra 'M' stamped on it
  2. Chatting to nate of mine last night and he pointed out that as the 2E was 15mm taller than the 9A block, that the 9A cambelt will no longer be of any use. My question is; is the ABF block 15mm taller than the 9A and if so can I use the ABF cambelt? I'm assuming yes??
  3. yes mate, engine swap planned for winter... done a few changes... wasnt happy with the stance so lowered the front more, fitted camber shims on the rear... changed the front headlights to stock ones & fitted 6k HID's.... What do the camber shims do to the rear? What engine you going for? Or is it a secret
  4. Fair play. So you reckon you were running too lean then? Did you have the LM-1 fitted at the time? Talking to CrazyDave on Saturday and he recommended the MSII. He said its much faster and has bigger tables, so it might be worth looking into. I'm pretty sure its reasonably cheap (20 quid ish) so might be a worthwhile upgrade as it just plugs in in place of the HC908. I originally went for MSI, but after that conversation I'm going to get the MSII chip I think.
  5. Good work! You're running Megasquirt then? Which suirt did you go for MSI or II. Are you fitting a wideband to do a bit of auto-tuning? You should see some good power with the brenner and 1.9 bottom end. Do you have a target bhp in mind?
  6. I don't see the point of producers anymore. The police can just radio in and get all the info drom the DVLA. Well, that's what the officer did when I was caught speeding (91 in a 60 oops!).
  7. I managed to get hold of an arch rooling tool (you can make them using a scissor jack, old brake disc and trolley wheel) rolled the lip up and hey presto rolled arches. You do need to warm the arch with a hot air gun first though, so as not to crack the paint. Pulling the arches is a far more difficult job AFAIK. You run the risk of the panel above the arch popping in.
  8. Fair play, you really don't hang about do you! 8)
  9. First off you will need to lower the compression. This can be achieved in a number of ways, depending on budget. You can either; use stacked head gaskets or a spacer, S2 pistons and rods, or forged low compression pistons (e.g. JE/Wossner/Mahle). Then you'll need an inlet manifold. Some people use the scirocco 16v manifold with the throttle body on the right rather than the left, others use a modified S2 inlet manifold with the 5th runner cut off. Depending on charger, you may need to also modify the left-hand lower edge of it to get a G60 charger to fit. Or, you could use an RPM(IIRC) inlet manifold designed for the job (I'm pretty sure Yandards on here is using one of these). You'll also need some sort of engine management. Some use the G60 digifant management which is very much up to the job. Other options would be cutom management such as DTA/Emerald or budget option - Megasquirt (DIY) That's kinda the main things you should be thinking about, but there is soooo much more. A good point of reference would be the rest of this thread, and also Yan's and VEEDUBBED's members galleries. I'm sure some of the other guys will be along shortly with more info.....
  10. So, you think it'll be all up and running by the end of play tomorrow, Rob? What's left to do?
  11. I think I'd prefer ham with cheese....or is it cheese with ham?
  12. so when you coming up to pick up this part, hey? :D
  13. Ah, but its a good addiction to have
  14. Indeed. Maybe go for hte same target as me and make it ready for ED38 next year??
  15. Good work. Nearly there then? Bet you can't wait to get her back on the road!
  16. That's just it, I don't think I am anymore, I think I've fallen outta love with it. I've spent a lotta time thinking about it and talking with my friends and girlfriend and it's time to move on. :( Look to the for sale section... Nooooooooo.... What's up dude?
  17. Aaaaand, I'm spent  Oooooooh flashing lights and displays and stuff.....that's great....might think about doing my own.....colour display maybe....
  18. Now, you've done it; something else to go on the shopping list!!
  19. There doesn't seem to be a cam on the intermediate shaft out of the 9a? Not unless I'm missing something obvious?? Humn, my bad. :) Well, I think some of intermediate shafts do have that lobe on them. :?
  20. How much was the Megaview? I wouldn't mind that for mine, given that it shows AFR. Wounder if it does EGT as well? I've been speaking to CrazyDave about MS and I think I need to get the MS-II processor, as it seems soo much better and apparently not a lot of money.
  21. Fair play guys, just read through this, and all I can say is 'Dave you have some schitt luck' but fair play you've got some good mates to give you a hand. Extremely good work, and loving all the piccies. Should go well, when you're done!
  22. Went for the LC-1 myself too. Looks like a good bit of kit. With the Megaview will you be able to see the AFR output from the LC-1? Would be good if you could... So, you're nearly there then!! Good work. Are you welding your own downpipe or you getting someone else to do it?
  23. There doesn't seem to be a cam on the intermediate shaft out of the 9a? Not unless I'm missing something obvious??
  24. Thought you might be busy with that valver! So it's the home stretch now then? What is left to do? Which wideband did you go for?
