  1. OI! Join the queue... Sorry to disappoint anyone, but the only car you'll get in the garage is a fiat 500!
  2. Good, that's at least one person who will be on my back to get it done. Anyone else?
  3. It's an ill conceived idea that I might be fitting a 16v turbo to Mrs Badcrumble (the car, if you hadn't seen lol). The name "To-The-Bone" was inspired by the cheesewire . He once said "Mrs Bad-To-The-Bone-Crumble" ! Another reason for the to the bone business, is, I'm also doing other stuff at the same time, including suspension, wheels, bodywork, interior....basically everything. Going to attempt to do it all myself, so will need a lot of encouragement, as I've tried two projects prior to this, 2 x mk1 golfs and have never finsished them. Admittedly the amount of bodywork, which is the bit I like and know least, is not to the same extent as the mk1's so hopefully I wont take the car apart then loose all interest! Fingers crossed hey!
  4. Well, SORN'ed her today, so thought I'd make a start tonight on project "To-The-Bone"! Only spent an hour, but.... Removed metering head, battery, inlet manifold headlights, grill, grill spoiler and labelled up all the plugs I've removed.
  5. Fair play Mic,that looks good. Might have to sell the magnex and get one of them buggers.
  6. Need to strip the front of the Rado down to take the engine out, found this to remove the bumper and this to remove most of the front end . Is there anything else I should know? What else should I do to get t the engine? I don't have an engine hoist, so a trolley jack will be used under the block. Never donr this sort of thing so any advice is greatly received. Oh and how do you get the fogs and indicators out? Cheers Beigy
  7. I don't have one in mine, but mrsbeige has a PG Tips/On digital Monkey on her dashboard!
  8. That was the plan, but I think it will take more than just over winter.... :( Not thought about doing freelance hairdressing.....hmmm *goes off to find scissors*
  9. Well, she's off the road! No MOT, oil pump is on its last legs, spoiler isn't working, central locking has a mind of its own, still have no heater control, two ABS sensors are not working, exhaust downpipe is pretty much fubarred, exhaust catches like a bitch, door is still mangled after the attempted break-in, front bumper has a big gouge(sp?) in it following some tw@t in the work car park bumping into it, sunroof is bust, bodywork is shocking, front seat is ripped, suspension is too high, alloys desparately need a refurb, and one of the rear tyres is out of shape. :( All in all it's buggered. Need to spend some serious dollar on it and I'm skint. Ho hum, just got myself a project I suppose. The fact that the engine is on its way out means I might as well get on with the turbo conversion as well as trying to sort all the other schitt out. Somehow I think this is going to be a long process. I did think about breaking her and trying to recoup some money and get something else, but I don't think I can bring myself to do that. I was at a point where I wasn't actually enjoying driving her at all, I actually prefer driving mrsbeige's 306. Far more comfortable, easier to drive and air con (even though it's not working properly)! So anyone who sees me as a charitable case please don't hesitate to help me sort this bag of poo out. I probably need all the help I can get. I think the name Badcrumble is quite apt right now!!
  10. You'll need to use the tacho output from the Emerald as the shift light needs the rpm pulse to work, but it should work fine with that. Do you clocks currently work with the Emerald? [/quote:40eae] Sorry dude, not been on here much in the last month, you still interested then? Send me a PM dude.
  11. Coming on really well now Dec. What manifold is that?
  12. That's w@nk, sorry to hear that dude. It seems that it's not what you know, but whose cock you suck, these days, which is totally crap. On the other hand, your bumper work is looking gooooood :thumbleft: Want to do this myself.....another thing to add to the list  What di you use as the welding stick? Some more plastic from the donor bumper?
  13. So which one have you gone for as a replacement dude?
  14. Friend of mine fitted a set of GXR bike carbs to a standard 9a block with a KR inlet cam and saw 171bhp. I thought that was pretty bloody good. Sounds awesome too.
  15. No mate they don't. Not got that feature enabled on my Clifford as I've been in the situation where I've been locked out of the car because of it (another car, mind). It's also odd that unlocking it via the lock pin in the car doesn't unlock the other door and boot. I never did that before.
  16. Hello, good afternoon and welcome.... It's a very slippery slope by the way  So when you gonna turbo it then
  17. That looks cool, my mate did that on his MK1 G60. Does the engine smell get into the cabin much with the bonnet like that though?
  18. Hmmmm, interesting.....I'll check the cog....
  19. You could PM steveo29, he's from cambridge and I'm sure he used to/still does paint. He might be able to point you in the right direction
  20. Ok, done a search and nothing came up.... Washed the car yesterday, put the spoiler up manually by the switch. Left it like that over night. Got in the car this morning, drove to the petrol station (the car didn't go below the spoiler deactivation speed before I got to the petrol station), the spoiler didn't have time to fully retract before switching the engine off. Paid for stuff. Got back in the car started the engine, and the central locking locked the doors, which I thought was a bit weird. Drove off the forecourt, up to 60, and the spoiler didn't come up from its half mast position after stopping at the petrol station. Tried to move it via the switch...nothing. Got to work, ignition off, then on, spoiler stioll not moving and verytime I start the car the bloody central locking locks the car. Not only that if I manually unlock the drivers door the central locking does unlock the rest of the car. So what the hell is going on? Not checked the fuse of the spoiler yet, but are these two thing associated? Could it be an earthing problem?
  21. Fingers crossed for you then, dude!
