  1. Right, I have a slight problem, I need to get a car moved from Kent to Cambridgeshire, but the car has no MOT or Tax, so I need to find a car with tow bar and a car trailer! I don't suppose any of you guys would like to offer there services if they have these facilities?? Of course I'd cover the fuel at the very least. Anyone?? ;)
  2. Indeed :) son of badcrumble... That's it!! 8) I like that.. you've been thinking about that, haven't you Cole?

    Removing wings

I need to get the wings off my car, just wanted a very quick run down of what is involved? Is there anything I need to know? Cheers...
  5. I'm not sure exactly how the VW ECU works, but with my experience if you were to fit a wired throttle body onto an ECU that expects to see an electronic throttle, the ECU will be likely to limit engine speed etc as with the Electronic throttle you'll have two pedal position pots that supply and arbitrated position to the ECU and there will be two throttle position sensors built in the throttle body to supply the ECU with an arbitrated throttle position. The wired throttles will normally only have one throttle position sensor, so the ECU will only see 1 out of 4 sensors that it expects. I might be better to get hold of an ECU,throttle body and wiring loom of an early mk4 Golf, and get it remapped. Other than that find a pedal box from an equivalent car that has the accelerator pedal position pots and retain the DBW throttle.
  6. I might well be talking out of my bottom, but aren't the lights different on the early Corrados and hence the different shape? I might be totally wrong there.... :? :? :?
  7. Tim, I'm sure that the slam panels have provision for both. (I sold my slam panel to a VR owner)
  8. They should be, but there were some that had the early style wings, bonnet, bumper. I have a late bonnet wings and bumper for sale here!
  9. Well, now that my name has been mentioned I better say something  The trigger wheel, if any, is likely to be a 36-1 welded on the alternator pulley, but going on what you said wayne, re the hall sensor, the trigger is likely to be from the hall sensor in the dizzy. As far as diagrams, I can't help you I'm afraid, as I was going to use MS for the spark as well using the trigger wheel and Ford EDIS module. As far as the other stuff, CrazyDave has pretty much answered you q's It migth be worth checking out this site go to "16v tuning" and also the MS forums.
  10. Stop it, you're making me wet!
  11. I was under the impression that Trim = Exducer dia[sup:5z2qiwsu]2[/sup:5z2qiwsu]/Inducer dia[sup:5z2qiwsu]2[/sup:5z2qiwsu] x 100 whereas the A/R = turbine inlet area/distance between the centre of the turbine wheel and the centre of the inlet or the same for the compessor I could of course be completely wrong :? I'll check out vortex and junkyard turbos. Cheers for the info though :D :D
  12. Cheers for that dude, its much appreciated. do you have any info on the compressor and turbine housing trims and inducer/exducer sizes? Or can you point me in the direction of somewhere on t'internet that does?
  13. Fair play dude, you cracked on with that! Did a better job than me with mine, eh? Good skills anyway.... 8)
  14. I've been perusing t'internet trying to find info on the cossie turbots, and there seems to be nothing anywhere. They all talk about the perfomance and specs of the cars, but not the A/R, trim, compressor etc specifications. Can anyone enlighten me? Cheers Beigey
  15. Good work dude! I'm liking that a lot 8) What are the buttons for? Are just they to control the MegaView?
  16. Still refining it at the moment. It might all go pear shaped yet, so we'll have to see...
  17. There are a couple of ways to do it, you can either just run fuel only from the megasquirt and retain the existing distributer and coil , or you can use the MS to run the spark as well, using a trigger wheel (mounted on the lternator pulley), Hall sensor and Ford EDIS module and coilpack. The former is much simpler, and makes the whole installation a little easier to cope with, if you are a novice, but for better tuning potential go for the squirt and spark option... Well, at least that's how I see it :)
